Translation:

Call to mind the time when We raised above you the Tur and made a covenant with you, saying, "Hold fast to the Book which We are giving you and bear in mind the commands and precepts contained therein. It is expected that this will lead you on to the paths of virtue and piety."

Translit: Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona

Translation:

When they meet those who believe in Muhammad, they say, "We also believe in him." But when they meet one another in private, they say, "Have you got no sense that you disclose to them those things which Allah has revealed to you so that they might bring them as a proof against you before your Lord?

Translit: wa itha laqoo allatheena amanoo qaloo amanna wa itha khala baAAduhum ila baAAdin qaloo atuhaddithoonahum bima fataha Allahu AAalaykum liyuhajjookum bihi AAinda rabbikum afala taAAqiloona

Translation:

Recall also to mind the Covenant We made with you while We raised the Tur over you: `Follow strictly the precepts We are giving you and give ear to Our Commandments. Your forefathers replied, "We have heard but we will not obey." They were so prone to unbelief that they cherished the calf in their hearts. Tell them (O Muhammad). "If indeed you are believers, yours is a strange Faith that enjoins you to do such evil things."

Translit: Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waismaAAoo qaloo samiAAna waAAasayna waoshriboo fee quloobihimu alAAijla bikufrihim qul bisama yamurukum bihi eemanukum in kuntum mumineena

Had they believed in Allah and practised piety, they would have received a far better reward from AIIah, if they had but known it.

Translation:

The people who have rejected the message of Truth, be they the people of the Book or the mushriks, would never like that any good be sent down to you from your Lord, but Allah chooses for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is Most Bountiful.

Translit: Ma yawaddu allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi wala almushrikeena an yunazzala AAalaykum min khayrin min rabbikum waAllahu yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

Translation:

And remember that We made this House (the Kabah) the centre nd sanctuary for mankind and enjoined the people to dedicate to worship the place where Abraham used to stand for prayer, and We urged Abraham and Ismail to keep My House pure for those who would go round it and those who would retire to it for devotion and prayer and for those who would bow down and prostrate themselves there in worhsip.126

Translation:

Divorce may be pronounced twice; then either the wife be kept honourably or parted with gracefully. And it is not lawful for you to take back anything out of what you have given them. There is, however, an exception to this; if you fear that they might not be able to keep within the limits imposed by Allah, there is no harm if both agree mutually that the wife should obtain divorce by giving something as compensation to the husband. These are the bounds set by Allah; therefore do not violate them, for those who violate the bounds of Allah are the tansgressors.

Translit: Alttalaqu marratani faimsakun bimaAAroofin aw tasreehun biihsanin wala yahillu lakum an takhuthoo mimma ataytumoohunna shayan illa an yakhafa alla yuqeema hudooda Allahi fain khiftum alla yuqeema hudooda Allahi fala junaha AAalayhima feema iftadat bihi tilka hudoodu Allahi fala taAAtadooha waman yataAAadda hudooda Allahi faolaika humu alththalimoona

Translation:

And when you have divorced your wives and they are about to complete their prescribed term, then either retain them gracefully or release them generously. It is transgression to retain them merely for harassment; and whoever does that indeed wrongs his own self. Do not play with Allahs Commandments, and remember that Allah has blessed you with a great favour. He admonishes you to show due respect to the Book and the Wisdom He has sent to you. Fear Allah and know that He is fully aware of everything.

Translit: Waitha tallaqtumu alnnisaa fabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw sarrihoohunna bimaAAroofin wala tumsikoohunna diraran litaAAtadoo waman yafAAal thalika faqad thalama nafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahi huzuwan waothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum wama anzala AAalaykum mina alkitabi waalhikmati yaAAithukum bihi waittaqoo Allaha waiAAlamoo anna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun

Take great care of your Prayers, especially of a Prayer that has excellent qualities of Salat and stand before Allah like devoted servants.

Translation:

Have you ever reflected upon the case of those who fled their homes for fear of death, and they were thousands in number? So Allah said to them, "Die"; then He again gave them life. Indeed Allah is bountiful to mankind, but most of the people are ungrateful.

Translit: Alam tara ila allatheena kharajoo min diyarihim wahum oloofun hathara almawti faqala lahumu Allahu mootoo thumma ahyahum inna Allaha lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yashkuroona

Translation:

Consequently, by Allahs grace, they routed the unbelievers, and David killed Goliath; and Allah gave him kingship and wisdom and taught him whatever other things He willed. And if Allah had not been repelling one set of people by means of another, the earth would have been filled with chaos. But Allah is bountiful to the world (and so repels chaos in this way).

Translit: Fahazamoohum biithni Allahi waqatala dawoodu jaloota waatahu Allahu almulka waalhikmata waAAallamahu mimma yashao walawla dafAAu Allahi alnnasa baAAdahum bibaAAdin lafasadati alardu walakinna Allaha thoo fadlin AAala alAAalameena

If your debtor be in straitened circumstances, give him time till his monetary condition becomes better. But if you remit the debt by way of charity, it would be better for you, if you only knew it.

for the guidance of mankind, and He has sent down the Criterion (of right and wrong). Now there shall be a severe punishment for those who reject the Commandments of Allah: for Allah is Almighty, Avenger of wickedness.

He will never enjoin you to make the angels or the Prophets your lords; is it conceivable that a Prophet should enjoin you to adopt disbelief, after you have surrendered to Allah?"

Translation:

when the faces (of some) will be brightened with joy and those of others shall be blackened with gloom. (It will be said to those,) whose faces shall be blackened, "Did you adopt the way of disbelief after receiving Faith? Well, then taste the torment for showing gross ingratitude towards it."

Translit: Yawma tabyaddu wujoohun wataswaddu wujoohun faamma allatheena iswaddat wujoohuhum akafartum baAAda eemanikum fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

Translation:

O Believers, do not take into your confidence any other than the people of your own community for they never miss any opportunity of exploiting any weakness of yours They desire that which is harmful to you; their malice has become apparent from what they say, but what they conceal in their hearts is yet far worse. We have made clear to you the signs thereof, and if you are wise, (you will be very cautious in your relations with them.)

Translit: yaayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo bitanatan min doonikum la yaloonakum khabalan waddoo ma AAanittum qad badati albaghdao min afwahihim wa ma tukhfee sudooruhum akbaru qad bayyanna lakumu alayati in kuntum taAAqiloona

Translation:

Allah did fulfil His promise (of help) to you: in the initial stage of the battle, it was you who were killing them by Allahs leave until you lost heart and disputed about your duty and disobeyed your leader, when Allah showed you what (the spoils) you coveted,a-for there were among you some who hankered after the life of this world, and others, who cherished the Life-after-death. Then Allah caused your retreat before the disbelievers in order to test you, but the fact is that even then Allah pardoned you, for Allah is very gracious to the believers.

Translit: Walaqad sadaqakumu Allahu waAAdahu ith tahussoonahum biithnihi hatta itha fashiltum watanazaAAtum fee alamri waAAasaytum min baAAdi ma arakum ma tuhibboona minkum man yureedu alddunya waminkum man yureedu alakhirata thumma sarafakum AAanhum liyabtaliyakum walaqad AAafa AAankum waAllahu thoo fadlin AAala almumineena

Translation:

Ultimately they returned home with the blessing and grace of Allah; they did not suffer any harm at all. Besides this, they had the, honour of following what pleased Allah, and Allahs bounty is infinite.

Translit: Fainqalaboo biniAAmatin mina Allahi wafadlin lam yamsashum sooon waittabaAAoo ridwana Allahi waAllahu thoo fadlin AAatheemin

Translation:

Allah has heard the saying of those who said; "Allah is poor and we are rich." We will record this (in their Conduct Book) along with their previous record of unjust killing of their Prophets. And (on the Day of Judgment), We will say to them, "Now taste the torment of the burning Fire.

Translit: Laqad samiAAa Allahu qawla allatheena qaloo inna Allaha faqeerun wanahnu aghniyaon sanaktubu ma qaloo waqatlahumu alanbiyaa bighayri haqqin wanaqoolu thooqoo AAathaba alhareeqi

Translation:

Remind the people of the Book that Allah made the Covenant with them and enjoined: "You shall spread the teachings of the Book among the peoples and shall not keep these concealed." But they flung the Book behind their backs and bartered it away for paltry worldly gains. What a bad business they are carrying on!

Translit: Waith akhatha Allahu meethaqa allatheena ootoo alkitaba latubayyinunnahu lilnnasi wala taktumoonahu fanabathoohu waraa thuhoorihim waishtaraw bihi thamanan qaleelan fabisa ma yashtaroona

Translation:

Their Lord answered their prayer, saying, "I do not let go to waste the labour of any worker from among you whether male or female, for all of you (human beings) are the offspring of one another. I will, therefore, forgive all the shortcomings of those who left their homes or were expelled from them for My sake or were persecuted, and of those who fought for My cause and were slain, and admit them to the Gardens underneath which canals flow." This is their reward from Allah and with Allah alone is the richest reward.

Translit: Faistajaba lahum rabbuhum annee la odeeAAu AAamala AAamilin minkum min thakarin aw ontha baAAdukum min baAAdin faallatheena hajaroo waokhrijoo min diyarihim waoothoo fee sabeelee waqataloo waqutiloo laokaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walaodkhilannahum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu thawaban min AAindi Allahi waAllahu AAindahu husnu alththawabi

Translation:

And punish the two of you who commit this crime; then if they both repent and reform themselves, leave them alone,for Allah is generous in accepting repentance, and merciful in forgiving sins.

Translit: Waallathani yatiyaniha minkum faathoohuma fain taba waaslaha faaAAridoo AAanhuma inna Allaha kana tawwaban raheeman

Translation:

O Believers, it is not lawful for you to become the heirs of widows by force: nor is it lawful that you should treat your wives harshly in order to deprive them of a part of the dowry you have given them. However (you have the right to treat them harshly), if they are guilty of adultery. You should live with them in an honorable manner, even if you dislike them; it is possible that Allah may bring much good to you through that very thing you dislike.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yahillu lakum an tarithoo alnnisaa karhan wala taAAduloohunna litathhaboo bibaAAdi ma ataytumoohunna illa an yateena bifahishatin mubayyinatin waAAashiroohunna bialmaAAroofi fain karihtumoohunna faAAasa an takrahoo shayan wayajAAala Allahu feehi khayran katheeran

And if you make up your mind to marry another wife in place of the one you already have, do not take back anything out of what you have given her. even though it may have been a heap of wealth. Will you take it back by slander and gross injustice?

Translit: Wain aradtumu istibdala zawjin makana zawjin waataytum ihdahunna qintaran fala takhuthoo minhu shayan atakhuthoonahu buhtanan waithman mubeenan

And how is it proper for you to take it, when both of you have enjoyed conjugal happiness and she received from you a solemn pledge of union?

Translation:

Men are the managers of the affairs of women because Allah has made the one superior to the others and because men spend of their wealth on women. Virtuous women are, therefore, obedient; they guard their rights carefully in their absences58 under the care and watch of Allah. As for those women whose defiance you have cause to fear, admonish them and keep them apart from your beds and beat them. Then, if they submit to you, do not look for excuses to punish them: note it well that there is Allah above you, Who is Supreme and Great.

Translit: Alrrijalu qawwamoona AAala alnnisai bima faddala Allahu baAAdahum AAala baAAdin wabima anfaqoo min amwalihim faalssalihatu qanitatun hafithatun lilghaybi bima hafitha Allahu waallatee takhafoona nushoozahunna faAAithoohunna waohjuroohunna fee almadajiAAi waidriboohunna fain ataAAnakum fala tabghoo AAalayhinna sabeelan inna Allaha kana AAaliyyan kabeeran

Translation:

And if you fear a breach between spouses, appoint one arbiter from the relatives of the husband and one from the relatives of the wife. If the two sides sincerely desire to set things right, Allah will create a way of reconciliation between them, for surely Allah knows everything and is aware of everything.

Translit: Wain khiftum shiqaqa baynihima faibAAathoo hakaman min ahlihi wahakaman min ahliha in yureeda islahan yuwaffiqi Allahu baynahuma inna Allaha kana AAaleeman khabeeran

Translation:

Surely We will throw into the Fire those who have rejected Our Revelations; as often as their skins shall be consumed, We will replace them by other skins so that they may taste the torment in full, for Allah is All-Powerful and All-Wise to enforce His decrees.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo biayatina sawfa nusleehim naran kullama nadijat julooduhum baddalnahum juloodan ghayraha liyathooqoo alAAathaba inna Allaha kana AAazeezan hakeeman

(As for them), only a few of them would have acted upon it, if We had enjoined them, "Kill yourselves," or "Leave your homes". It would have been better for them and it would have made them firm. (in their Faith), if they had done what they were commanded to do,

Translit: Walaw anna katabna AAalayhim ani oqtuloo anfusakum awi okhrujoo min diyarikum ma faAAaloohu illa qaleelun minhum walaw annahum faAAaloo ma yooAAathoona bihi lakana khayran lahum waashadda tathbeetan

Believers, be always prepared for encounter, and advance in detachments or march in a body, as the occasion may require.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo khuthoo hithrakum fainfiroo thubatin awi infiroo jameeAAan

Translation:

They really wish that you should also become disbelievers, as they themselves are so that both may become alike. So you should not take friends from among them unless they migrate in the way of Allah; and if they do not migrate, then seize them wherever you find them and slay them and do not take any of them as friends and helpers.

Translit: Waddoo law takfuroona kama kafaroo fatakoonoona sawaan fala tattakhithoo minhum awliyaa hatta yuhajiroo fee sabeeli Allahi fain tawallaw fakhuthoohum waoqtuloohum haythu wajadtumoohum wala tattakhithoo minhum waliyyan wala naseeran

Translation:

You will also find another kind of hypocrites, who wish to be at peace with you and also at peace with their own people but who would plunge into mischief, whenever they got an opportunity for it. If such people do not desist from your enmity nor make overtures for peace nor desist from fighting against you, then seize them and slay them wherever you find them, for We have given you a clear authority to fight against them.

Translit: Satajidoona akhareena yureedoona an yamanookum wayamanoo qawmahum kulla ma ruddoo ila alfitnati orkisoo feeha fain lam yaAAtazilookum wayulqoo ilaykumu alssalama wayakuffoo aydiyahum fakhuthoohum waoqtuloohum haythu thaqiftumoohum waolaikum jaAAalna lakum AAalayhim sultanan mubeenan

Translation:

And when you, O Prophet, are among the Muslims and are going to lead them in Salat (in a state of war), let a party of them stand behind you, carrying their weapons with them. When they have made their prostrations, they should fall back and let another party of them, who have not yet offered the Salat, say it with you and they, too, should be on their guard and keep their weapons with them. For the disbelievers are always on the look-out for a chance to find you neglectful of your weapons and your baggage so that they may swoop down upon you with a surprise attack. If, however, you feel some inconvenience on account of rain, or if you are ill, there is no harm if you put aside your weapons, but you should still be on your guard. Rest assured that Allah has prepared a disgraceful torment for the disbelievers.

Translit: Waitha kunta feehim faaqamta lahumu alssalata faltaqum taifatun minhum maAAaka walyakhuthoo aslihatahum faitha sajadoo falyakoonoo min waraikum waltati taifatun okhra lam yusalloo falyusalloo maAAaka walyakhuthoo hithrahum waaslihatahum wadda allatheena kafaroo law taghfuloona AAan aslihatikum waamtiAAatikum fayameeloona AAalaykum maylatan wahidatan wala junaha AAalaykum in kana bikum athan min matarin aw kuntum marda an tadaAAoo aslihatakum wakhuthoo hithrakum inna Allaha aAAadda lilkafireena A

Translation:

who make the disbelievers their friends instead of the Believers. Do they go to the disbelievers to seek honor? Whereas, in fact, all honor belongs to Allah alone.

Translit: Allatheena yattakhithoona alkafireena awliyaa min dooni almumineena ayabtaghoona AAindahumu alAAizzata fainna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan

O Believers, do not take the disbelievers as your friends instead of the Believers: do you ant to furnish Allah with a clear proof against yourselves?

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo alkafireena awliyaa min dooni almumineena atureedoona an tajAAaloo lillahi AAalaykum sultanan mubeenan

Translation:

Those, who deny Allah and His Messengers and desire to draw a line between Allah and His Messengers, and say, "We will acknowledge some and deny others," they seek a midway between belief and disbelief.

Translit: Inna allatheena yakfuroona biAllahi warusulihi wayureedoona an yufarriqoo bayna Allahi warusulihi wayaqooloona numinu bibaAAdin wanakfuru bibaAAdin wayureedoona an yattakhithoo bayna thalika sabeelan

If the people of the Book are today asking you to cause a Book to come down upon them from heaven, they have already made even more monstrous demands from Moses. They said to him, "Make us see Allah with our own eyes." As a result of their wickedness, a thunder-bolt smote them all of a sudden. Then they took the calf as the object of their worship, after they had seen clear signs: but even after this, We forgave them. We bestowed upon Moses a clear Commandment

Translit: Yasaluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzila AAalayhim kitaban mina alssamai faqad saaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arina Allaha jahratan faakhathathumu alssaAAiqatu bithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla min baAAdi ma jaathumu albayyinatu faAAafawna AAan thalika waatayna moosa sultanan mubeenan

Translation:

O Messenger, let not those who are striving hard in the way of disbelief, grieve you, whether they be from among those who say with their mouths, "We believe," but their hearts do not believe, or from among those who have become Jews; for the latter eagerly listen to lies. They spy for other people who have never had any chance of coming to you: they twist the words of Allahs Book out of their context in order to distort their proper meaning: they say to the people, "If you are enjoined to observe such and such teaching, accept it; if it is other than this, reject it." You can do nothing to save from Allahs punishment a man whom Allah wills to put to trial. They are those, whose hearts Allah does not will to purify; there is ignominy for them in this world and a grievous punishment in the Hereafter.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alrrasoolu la yahzunka allatheena yusariAAoona fee alkufri mina allatheena qaloo amanna biafwahihim walam tumin quloobuhum wamina allatheena hadoo sammaAAoona lilkathibi sammaAAoona liqawmin akhareena lam yatooka yuharrifoona alkalima min baAAdi mawadiAAihi yaqooloona in ooteetum hatha fakhuthoohu wain lam tutawhu faihtharoo waman yuridi Allahu fitnatahu falan tamlika lahu mina Allahi shayan olaika allatheena lam yuridi Allahu an yutahhira quloobahum lahum fee alddunya khizyun walahum

Translation:

Indeed, We sent down the Torah wherein was Guidance and Light: thereby All the Prophets, who were Muslims, judged the cases of those who had become Jews. Likewise the Rabbanis and the Ahbar (based their judgment on it), for they were made the guardians of the Book of Allah and witnesses to it. So, (O Jews), do not fear the people but fear Me and do not sell My revelations for paltry worldly gains: those, who do not judge by the Law which Allah has sent down, are indeed the disbelievers.

Translit: Inna anzalna alttawrata feeha hudan wanoorun yahkumu biha alnnabiyyoona allatheena aslamoo lillatheena hadoo waalrrabbaniyyoona waalahbaru bima istuhfithoo min kitabi Allahi wakanoo AAalayhi shuhadaa fala takhshawoo alnnasa waikhshawni wala tashtaroo biayatee thamanan qaleelan waman lam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faolaika humu alkafiroona

Translation:

O Believers, do not take the Jews nor the Christians as your friends: they are one anothers friends only. If anyone of you takes them as friends, surely he shall be counted among them; indeed Allah deprives the wrong-doers of His Guidance.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo alyahooda waalnnasara awliyaa baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin waman yatawallahum minkum fainnahu minhum inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

O Believers, do not take your friends from among the people, who were given the Book before you and such as make a jest and pastime of your Faith; and (likewise ,do not take for your friends) the other disbelievers; fear Allah, if you are true Believers.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo allatheena ittakhathoo deenakum huzuwan walaAAiban mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum waalkuffara awliyaa waittaqoo Allaha in kuntum mumineena

When you make a call for the Prayer, they make it an object of jest and sport; this is because they are devoid of understanding.

Translit: Waitha nadaytum ila alssalati ittakhathooha huzuwan walaAAiban thalika biannahum qawmun la yaAAqiloona

Then say, "Should I inform you of those, who will have even worse recompense from Allah than the transgressors?" They are those whom Allah has cursed; who have been under His wrath; some of whom were turned into apes and swine; who worshiped taghut; those are the people who are in a far worse plight and who have turned farthest away from the Right Way."

Translit: Qul hal onabbiokum bisharrin min thalika mathoobatan AAinda Allahi man laAAanahu Allahu waghadiba AAalayhi wajaAAala minhumu alqiradata waalkhanazeera waAAabada alttaghooti olaika sharrun makanan waadallu AAan sawai alssabeeli

Translation:

Had they believed in Allah and the Prophet and in what was revealed to him, they would never have made friends with the disbelieversâ€ (against the Believers), but many of them have become disobedient to Allah.

Translit: Walaw kanoo yuminoona biAllahi waalnnabiyyi wama onzila ilayhi ma ittakhathoohum awliyaa walakinna katheeran minhum fasiqoona

Allah does not take you to task for the inadvertent oaths you swear, but He will surely call you to account for the intentional and deliberate oaths you make. The expiation (of breaking such an oath) is to feed ten indigent persons with the normal food you serve in your own family, or to give them clothes, or to free one slave, and the one who cannot afford any of these let him fast three days. This is the expiation of breaking the solemn oaths you have taken; be mindful of your oaths. Thus Allah makes His Commandments plain to you so that you may show gratitude.

Translit: La yuakhithukumu Allahu biallaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yuakhithukum bima AAaqqadtumu alaymana fakaffaratuhu itAAamu AAasharati masakeena min awsati ma tutAAimoona ahleekum aw kiswatuhum aw tahreeru raqabatin faman lam yajid fasiyamu thalathati ayyamin thalika kaffaratu aymanikum itha halaftum waihfathoo aymanakum kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

O Believers, do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram. And, whoever of you kills an animal intentionally, he small have to make an offering of a head of cattle equivalent to it, which will be decided by two just men from among you. This offering shall have to be sent to the Ka`bah or, failing this, he shall have to feed indigent people by way of expiation or compensate for it by equivalent fasting, so that he may taste the evil consequence of what he did. Allah has forgiven what has gone before, but if anyone repeats the same, Allah will inflict retribution on him: Allah is All-Mighty and All-Powerful to inflict retribution.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la taqtuloo alssayda waantum hurumun waman qatalahu minkum mutaAAammidan fajazaon mithlu ma qatala mina alnnaAAami yahkumu bihi thawa AAadlin minkum hadyan baligha alkaAAbati aw kaffaratun taAAamu masakeena aw AAadlu thalika siyaman liyathooqa wabala amrihi AAafa Allahu AAamma salafa waman AAada fayantaqimu Allahu minhu waAllahu AAazeezun thoo intiqamin

Translation:

(After reminding him of these favors), Allah will say, "O Jesus, son of Mary, did you ever say to the people, Make me and my mother deities besides Allah?" He will say. "Glory be to You! It did not behoove me to say that which I had no right to say. Had I ever said such a thing, You would most surely have known it, for You know all that is in my mind, but I do not know what is in Your mind: indeed You have full knowledge of all the hidden things.

Translit: Waith qala Allahu ya AAeesa ibna maryama aanta qulta lilnnasi ittakhithoonee waommiya ilahayni min dooni Allahi qala subhanaka ma yakoonu lee an aqoola ma laysa lee bihaqqin in kuntu qultuhu faqad AAalimtahu taAAlamu ma fee nafsee wala aAAlamu ma fee nafsika innaka anta AAallamu alghuyoobi

Translation:

Would that you could witness the scene, when they will be brought before their Lord: then their Lord will ask them, "Is this not the Reality?" They will say, "Yes, our Lord, this is the Reality." Then He will declare, "Well, taste the torment for denying this Reality."

Translit: Walaw tara ith wuqifoo AAala rabbihim qala alaysa hatha bialhaqqi qaloo bala warabbina qala fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

Translation:

Many Messengers before you have also been treated as impostors, but they bore with fortitude the charge of imposture and persecution (by the disbelievers), till Our help came down to them. None has the power to change the Law of Allah and you have already received the news of what happened to the Messengers before you.

Translit: Walaqad kuththibat rusulun min qablika fasabaroo AAala ma kuththiboo waoothoo hatta atahum nasruna wala mubaddila likalimati Allahi walaqad jaaka min nabai almursaleena

Translation:

And leave alone those who have taken their faith as a sport and pastime and have been deluded by the life of this world; nevertheless, go on admonishing them by reciting the Quran to them lest any person should be seized because of his own deeds, and that too at the time, when there would be no protector, no helper and no intercessor to rescue him from Allah, and when no conceivable amount of ransom would be accepted from him; this is because such people shall be seized in consequence of what they themselves had earned; they shall get boiling water to drink and a painful torment to suffer for their rejection of the Truth.

Translit: Wathari allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum laAAiban walahwan wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya wathakkir bihi an tubsala nafsun bima kasabat laysa laha min dooni Allahi waliyyun wala shafeeAAun wain taAAdil kulla AAadlin la yukhath minha olaika allatheena obsiloo bima kasaboo lahum sharabun min hameemin waAAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakfuroona

Translation:

(Like that Book) this is a Book which We have sent down; it is a blessed Book, it confirms that which was sent down before it, and this has been sent down so that you should warn the people of this central place (Makkah) and those who dwell around it. Those, who believe in the Hereafter, believe in this Book, and observe their prescribed Prayers punctually.

Translit: Wahatha kitabun anzalnahu mubarakun musaddiqu allathee bayna yadayhi walitunthira omma alqura waman hawlaha waallatheena yuminoona bialakhirati yuminoona bihi wahum AAala salatihim yuhafithoona

Your Lord is All-Sufficient and is full of compassion. If He wills, He may remove you and replace you by whomever He wills, just as He raised you from the offspring of other people.

Now if they belie you, say to them, "Your Lord has limitless mercy: but His punishment cannot be warded off from the criminals."

Satan requested, "Give me respite till the Day when they shall all be raised from the dead."

Allah said, "Get out from here-despised and disowned. Note it well that I will fill the Hell with you and with all those who will follow you.

He has shown the Right Way to some but has justly left others to go astray. This is because, instead of Allah, they have made satans their guardians, and yet think that they are on the Right Way."

Translit: Fareeqan hada wafareeqan haqqa AAalayhimu alddalalatu innahumu ittakhathoo alshshayateena awliyaa min dooni Allahi wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona

Translation:

O children of Adam, dress yourselves fully, properly and decently at the time of every worship; eat and drink, but do not transgress, for Allah does not like the transgressors.

Translit: Ya banee adama khuthoo zeenatakum AAinda kulli masjidin wakuloo waishraboo wala tusrifoo innahu la yuhibbu almusrifeena

And the preceding generation will say to the succeeding, "(If we were to blame) you, too, were no better than we. Now taste the torture for what you earned."

Translation:

who had made their religion a pastime, sport and enjoyment, and who had been deluded by the worldly life. Allah says. `Today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day and rejected Our Revelations."

Translit: Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo biayatina yajhadoona

And remember the time when Allah made you successors of `Ad and established you in the land with dignity and enabled you to make castles on the plains and hew out houses in the hills. So do not be neglectful of the manifestations of Allahs powers, and do not spread disorder on the earth."

Translit: Waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakum fee alardi tattakhithoona min suhooliha qusooran watanhitoona aljibala buyootan faothkuroo alaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena

And, have not those people, who inherit the earth after its former occupants, learned a lesson from the fact that, if We please, We can seize them for their sins? (But they neglect the realities that teach a lesson) and We seal their hearts: then they do not listen to anything.

Translit: Awalam yahdi lillatheena yarithoona alarda min baAAdi ahliha an law nashao asabnahum bithunoobihim wanatbaAAu AAala quloobihim fahum la yasmaAAoona

But as soon as We removed the plague from them after the expiry of the term that had been fixed for them, they would at once break their promise.

After this, We inscribed upon the tablets101 admonitions concerning every branch of life and clear instructions about all its aspects and gave these to Moses and said to him, "Hold fast to the precepts steadfastly, and enjoin your people to follow them according to their best sense. In the near future, I shall show you the abode of the wicked people.

Translit: Wakatabna lahu fee alalwahi min kulli shayin mawAAithatan watafseelan likulli shayin fakhuthha biquwwatin wamur qawmaka yakhuthoo biahsaniha saoreekum dara alfasiqeena

Translation:

I will turn away from My Signs the eyes of those who without any sight behave haughtily on the earth. Whatsoever Sign they might see they will never believe in it. If they see the Right Way before them, they will not follow it; but if they see a crooked way, they will follow it. That is because they treated Our Signs as false and were heedless of them.

Translit: Saasrifu AAan ayatiya allatheena yatakabbaroona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wain yaraw kulla ayatin la yuminoo biha wain yaraw sabeela alrrushdi la yattakhithoohu sabeelan wain yaraw sabeela alghayyi yattakhithoohu sabeelan thalika biannahum kaththaboo biayatina wakanoo AAanha ghafileena

Translation:

In his absence1 the people of Moses made from their ornaments the image of a calf which made sound like lowing. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them in any matter? Yet they took it for a god, for they were wrong-doers.

Translit: Waittakhatha qawmu moosa min baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun alam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehim sabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena

Translation:

(In response to this Allah said,) "Allahs wrath shall surely overtake those who made the calf a god, and they shall be abased in the life of this world, that is how We punish those who invent falsehood.

Translit: Inna allatheena ittakhathoo alAAijla sayanaluhum ghadabun min rabbihim wathillatun fee alhayati alddunya wakathalika najzee almuftareena

Translation:

Also remind them that when some people from among them asked the others the answer that was given by some of them, "Why do you admonish those people whom Allah is about to destroy or punish severely?" they replied, "We admonish them in order to be able to offer an excuse before your Lord and we also hope that they might refrain from disobedience to Him."

Translit: Waith qalat ommatun minhum lima taAAithoona qawman Allahu muhlikuhum aw muAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan qaloo maAAthiratan ila rabbikum walaAAallahum yattaqoona

Translation:

Then after the following generations, unworthy people succeeded them: they inherited the Book, but in spite of this they grab the fleeting good things of this low world, and say. "We expect to be forgiven." Yet if similar worldly things again come before them. they again grab them. Has not the Covenant of the Book been taken from them that they should ascribe to Allah nothing but the truth? And they themselves have studied well that which is written in the Book. And the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah. Do you not understand even this thing?

Translit: Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun warithoo alkitaba yakhuthoona AAarada hatha aladna wayaqooloona sayughfaru lana wain yatihim AAaradun mithluhu yakhuthoohu alam yukhath AAalayhim meethaqu alkitabi an la yaqooloo AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa wadarasoo ma feehi waalddaru alakhiratu khayrun lillatheena yattaqoona afala taAAqiloona

Translation:

Do they also remember the time when We shook the Mountain and spread over them as though it were an umbrella, and they thought that it was going to fall upon them; (then We said to them), "Hold fast the Book We are giving you, and keep in mind what it contains: it is expected that you will refrain from wrong ways."

Translit: Waith nataqna aljabala fawqahum kaannahu thullatun wathannoo annahu waqiAAun bihim khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona

Translation:

And when you were praying to Allah for succor, He answered, "I am sending for your succor one thousand angels, one after another".

Translit: Ith tastagheethoona rabbakum faistajaba lakum annee mumiddukum bialfin mina almalaikati murdifeena

Translation:

This is the punishment for you: so taste it now: you should also know that there is the torture of Hell for those who deny the Truth.

Translit: Thalikum fathooqoohu waanna lilkafireena AAathaba alnnari

Translation:

O Believers, if you are God fearing, He will provide you with a criterion, and cleanse you of your evils, and forgive your shortcomings. Allah is bountiful in His favors.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tattaqoo Allaha yajAAal lakum furqanan wayukaffir AAankum sayyiatikum wayaghfir lakum waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

Translation:

And what is their "prayer" near the House of Allah ?: it is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. So now take the chastisement and taste the torment in requital for your persistent denial of the Truth.

Translit: Wama kana salatuhum AAinda albayti illa mukaan watasdiyatan fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

Translation:

Would that you could see how it was when the angels were seizing the souls of the slain disbelievers! They were striking on their faces and hips and saying, "Now taste the torment of burning;

Translit: Walaw tara ith yatawaffa allatheena kafaroo almalaikatu yadriboona wujoohahum waadbarahum wathooqoo AAathaba alhareeqi

Translation:

Then, when the months made unlawful for fighting expire, kill the mushriks wherever you find them, and seize them, and besiege them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, and establish Salat and pay the Zakat dues, then let them go their way: for Allah is Forgiving and Compassionate.

Translit: Faitha insalakha alashhuru alhurumu faoqtuloo almushrikeena haythu wajadtumoohum wakhuthoohum waohsuroohum waoqAAudoo lahum kulla marsadin fain taboo waaqamoo alssalata waatawoo alzzakata fakhalloo sabeelahum inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

But if they break their oaths after making compacts and revile your Faith you should fight with these ringleaders of disbelief because their oaths are not trustworthy: it may be that sword alone will restrain14a them.

Translit: Wain nakathoo aymanahum min baAAdi AAahdihim wataAAanoo fee deenikum faqatiloo aimmata alkufri innahum la aymana lahum laAAallahum yantahoona

Translation:

Will you not fight such people who have been breaking their solemn pledges, who conspired to banish the Messenger and were the first to transgress against you? Are you afraid of them? If you are true Believers, surely Allah has a greater right that you should fear Him.

Translit: Ala tuqatiloona qawman nakathoo aymanahum wahammoo biikhraji alrrasooli wahum badaookum awwala marratin atakhshawnahum faAllahu ahaqqu an takhshawhu in kuntum mumineena

Translation:

Do you think that you will be left (without a trial)? Note it well that Allah has not as yet seen which of you exerted your utmost in His (Allah his way) and did not take as intimate friends any other than Allah, His Messenger and the Believers Allah has full knowledge of what you do.

Translit: Am hasibtum an tutrakoo walamma yaAAlami Allahu allatheena jahadoo minkum walam yattakhithoo min dooni Allahi wala rasoolihi wala almumineena waleejatan waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona

Translation:

O Believers, do not take your fathers and brothers as allies, if. they choose disbelief in preference to Faith; for whoso of you will take them as allies shall surely be the workers of iniquity.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo abaakum waikhwanakum awliyaa ini istahabboo alkufra AAala aleemani waman yatawallahum minkum faolaika humu alththalimoona

Translation:

They have made their scholars and monks as their Lords beside Allah,31 and likewise the Messiah, the son of Mary, although they were enjoined not to worship any other than the One Deity, besides Whom there is none worthy of worship. He is absolutely pure and free from what they associate with Him.

Translit: Ittakhathoo ahbarahum waruhbanahum arbaban min dooni Allahi waalmaseeha ibna maryama wama omiroo illa liyaAAbudoo ilahan wahidan la ilaha illa huwa subhanahu AAamma yushrikoona

The Day shall surely come when the same gold and silver shall be heated in the fire of Hell, and therewith their foreheads, their bodies and their backs shall be .branded, (saying), "Here is that treasure you had hoarded up for yourselves: now taste the evil of your hoarded treasure"

Translit: Yawma yuhma AAalayha fee nari jahannama fatukwa biha jibahuhum wajunoobuhum wathuhooruhum hatha ma kanaztum lianfusikum fathooqoo ma kuntum taknizoona

Translation:

There are some among them who injure the Prophet and say, "This man readily believes whatever he hears.â€ Say, "It is good for you that he is so:70 He believes in Allah and puts his trust in the believers and is a blessing for those who are true believers among you. As regards those who injure the Messenger of Allah, there is a painful chastisement for them."

Translit: Waminhumu allatheena yuthoona alnnabiyya wayaqooloona huwa othunun qul othunu khayrin lakum yuminu biAllahi wayuminu lilmumineena warahmatun lillatheena amanoo minkum waallatheena yuthoona rasoola Allahi lahum AAathabun aleemun

Translation:

There are others who built a "mosque" in order to harm the Righteous Mission and to practice unbelief (instead of Allahs worship) and to cause discord among the Believers, and to make this (place of worship) an ambush for the one who even before this had been in conflict with Allah and His Messenger. They will take solemn oaths and say, "Our intention was nothing but good." But Allah is a witness that they are absolute liars.

Translit: Waallatheena ittakhathoo masjidan diraran wakufran watafreeqan bayna almumineena wairsadan liman haraba Allaha warasoolahu min qablu walayahlifunna in aradna illa alhusna waAllahu yashhadu innahum lakathiboona

Translation:

Those who turn back to Allah over and over again; those who worship Him, those who sing hymns in His praise, those who move about in the land for His sake, those who bow down and prostrate before Him, those who enjoin virtue and forbid evil and strictly observe the limits prescribed by Allah110 (are the Believers who make such a bargain with Allah;) and O Prophet, give good news to such Believers.

Translit: Alttaiboona alAAabidoona alhamidoona alssaihoona alrrakiAAoona alssajidoona alamiroona bialmaAAroofi waalnnahoona AAani almunkari waalhafithoona lihudoodi Allahi wabashshiri almumineena

Translation:

(Today these people are intoxicated with the life of this world but) on the Day when Allah will muster them they will feel as if they had stayed (in this world) for only an hour or so in order to have acquaintance with one another. (At that time they will realize that) they who disbelieved in their meeting with Allah were losers indeed and were not rightly guided.

Translit: Wayawma yahshuruhum kaan lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan mina alnnahari yataAAarafoona baynahum qad khasira allatheena kaththaboo biliqai Allahi wama kanoo muhtadeena

Translation:

Then it will be said to the transgressors, "Now taste the everlasting torment; what other recompense than this do you expect to get for what you have been earning?"

Translit: Thumma qeela lillatheena thalamoo thooqoo AAathaba alkhuldi hal tujzawna illa bima kuntum taksiboona

Translation:

What treatment do they think Allah will mete out to them who ascribe this false thing to Him on the Day of Resurrection ? Indeed Allah is bountiful to mankind, but most of them are not grateful.

Translit: Wama thannu allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba yawma alqiyamati inna Allaha lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona

Translation:

And it is He Who created the heavens and the earth in six days-whereas before this His Throne rested upon water so that He may test which of you does the best deeds. Now O Muhammad, if you tell them "You will, O people, be raised again after death," those who disbelieve promptly exclaim, "This is plain sorcery!"

Translit: Wahuwa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin wakana AAarshuhu AAala almai liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan walain qulta innakum mabAAoothoona min baAAdi almawti layaqoolanna allatheena kafaroo in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun

Translation:

But they killed the she-camel. At this Salih warned them, "Well, you have only three more days to enjoy yourselves in your houses. This is a time limit that will not prove false."

Translit: FaAAaqarooha faqala tamattaAAoo fee darikum thalathata ayyamin thalika waAAdun ghayru makthoobin

Translation:

As for those who shall be blessed they will go to the Garden and dwell therein for ever as long as the earth and the heavens shall last, unless your Lord wills something else. They will be blessed with a boon that will be imperishable.

Translit: Waamma allatheena suAAidoo fafee aljannati khalideena feeha ma damati alssamawatu waalardu illa ma shaa rabbuka AAataan ghayra majthoothin

Send him with us tomorrow that he may freely eat and enjoy sport: we will take good care of him."

Translation:

And it so happened that when they entered the city by different gates as their father had advised them the precautionary measure proved ineffective against Allahs will. Of course Jacob had done his best to avert the fear he had in his heart. Indeed he possessed knowledge because of what We had taught him: but most people do not understand the reality of the matter.

Translit: Walamma dakhaloo min haythu amarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahi min shayin illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadaha wainnahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

Translation:

They demand from you the hastening of evil rather than good, though indeed there have been instances of exemplary punishments before them (of the wrath of God on the people who adopted the same attitude.) The fact is that your Lord shows forbearance to the people despite their transgressions, and it is also the fact that your Lord is stern in retribution.

Translit: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wainna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAala thulmihim wainna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

For each person has guardians before him and behind him, who watch over him by Allahs command. The fact is that Allah does not change a peoples lot unless they themselves change their own characteristics: and when Allah decides to bring about retribution to a people, none can ward it off, nor can they find any defender or helper against Allah.

Translit: Lahu muAAaqqibatun min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi yahfathoonahu min amri Allahi inna Allaha la yughayyiru ma biqawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bianfusihim waitha arada Allahu biqawmin sooan fala maradda lahu wama lahum min doonihi min walin

So, O Prophet. Never imagine that Allah will ever go against the promises made to His Messengers. Allah is All Powerful and capable of revenge.

As regards this Admonition, it is We Who have sent it down, and We Ourself will preserve it.

It is We Who give life and death and We will be the inheritors of all.

At this he requested, "My Lord! then give me respite till that Day when mankind shall be resurrected."

They are dead, not living, and they do not know at all when they shall again be raised to life.

(Likewise) We give you from date-palms and vines a drink from which you derive intoxicants and also pure food: indeed there is a Sign in this for those who make use of their. common sense.

Translit: Wamin thamarati alnnakheeli waalaAAnabi tattakhithoona minhu sakaran warizqan hasanan inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona

Translation:

Do not behave like that woman who had spun yarn laboriously and then had herself broken it into pieces. You make your mutual oaths a means of mutual deceit in your affairs so that one people might take undue advantage over the other whereas Allah puts you to trial by these pledges. Allah will certainly reveal to you the truth about all your differences on the Day of Resurrection.

Translit: Wala takoonoo kaallatee naqadat ghazlaha min baAAdi quwwatin ankathan tattakhithoona aymanakum dakhalan baynakum an takoona ommatun hiya arba min ommatin innama yablookumu Allahu bihi walayubayyinanna lakum yawma alqiyamati ma kuntum feehi takhtalifoona

Translation:

And (O Muslims,) do not make your oaths the means of deceiving one another lest (someones) foot should slip after being firmly fixed and you may suffer the consequences of debarring other people from the Way of Allah, and undergo a severe torment.

Translit: Wala tattakhithoo aymanakum dakhalan baynakum fatazilla qadamun baAAda thubootiha watathooqoo alssooa bima sadadtum AAan sabeeli Allahi walakum AAathabun AAatheemun

Before this We had given the Book to Moses and made it a means of guidance for the Israelites with this Command: "Do not make any other guardian than Myself.

Translit: Waatayna moosa alkitaba wajaAAalnahu hudan libanee israeela alla tattakhithoo min doonee wakeelan

Translation:

As regards the provisions of this worldly life, We bestow them on these and on those; this is a gift of your Lord and there is none to withhold the gift of your Lord.

Translit: Kullan numiddu haolai wahaolai min AAatai rabbika wama kana AAatao rabbika mahthooran

Translation:

Do not associate another deity with Allah, otherwise you shall he reduced to a state of ignominy and helplessness.

Translit: La tajAAal maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fataqAAuda mathmooman makhthoolan

Translation:

They say, "What! shall we really be raised up again into a new creation, when we are reduced to bones and dust?"

Translit: Waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan

Translation:

In fact those whom these people invoke for help themselves seek means of approach to their Lord and vie with one another to be nearer to Him and hope for His mercy and fear His chastisement.65 The fact is that the chastisement of your Lord is a thing to be dreaded.

Translit: Olaika allatheena yadAAoona yabtaghoona ila rabbihimu alwaseelata ayyuhum aqrabu wayarjoona rahmatahu wayakhafoona AAathabahu inna AAathaba rabbika kana mahthooran

Translation:

O Muhammad these people have left no stone unturned to tempt you away from that which We have revealed to you so that you might fabricate something in Our name. Had you done that, they would have made you their friend.

Translit: Wain kadoo layaftinoonaka AAani allathee awhayna ilayka litaftariya AAalayna ghayrahu waithan laittakhathooka khaleelan

Translation:

And these people have persistently been trying to uproot you from this land and exile you from it, but if they do so, they will not be able to stay here much longer.

Translit: Wain kadoo layastafizzoonaka mina alardi liyukhrijooka minha waithan la yalbathoona khilafaka illa qaleelan

Translation:

This is their recompense, for they rejected Our Signs and said, "What! shall we really be raised up anew, when we have been reduced to bones and dust?"

Translit: Thalika jazaohum biannahum kafaroo biayatina waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan

Translation:

Then We raised them up in order to test which of them were able to calculate correctly the period of their stay there.

Translit: Thumma baAAathnahum linaAAlama ayyu alhizbayni ahsa lima labithoo amadan

(Then they held mutual consultations, saying,) "These people of ours have given up the Lord of the universe and adopted other deities. Why do they not bring forward any clear argument in support of their creed? Well, who can be more wicked than the one who forges a lie against Allah?

Translit: Haolai qawmuna ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan lawla yatoona AAalayhim bisultanin bayyinin faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban

Translation:

And in the same miraculous way We raised them up again so that they may ask one another (about their wonderful experience). One of them asked, "Well, how long have you remained in this condition?â€ The others answered, "May-be, we have remained so for a day or a part of a day.â€ Then they declared, "Your Lord knows best how long we have remained in this condition. So let us send one of us with this silver coin to the city, and he should look for a place wherein he can get the best food so that he may bring something to eat. He should, however, conduct himself with caution lest anyone should discover our whereabouts;

Translit: Wakathalika baAAathnahum liyatasaaloo baynahum qala qailun minhum kam labithtum qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAda yawmin qaloo rabbukum aAAlamu bima labithtum faibAAathoo ahadakum biwariqikum hathihi ila almadeenati falyanthur ayyuha azka taAAaman falyatikum birizqin minhu walyatalattaf wala yushAAiranna bikum ahadan

and some people say that they remained in their Cave for three hundred years and some others add nine more years (to the reckoning of the period).

Translit: Walabithoo fee kahfihim thalatha miatin sineena waizdadoo tisAAan

Translation:

O Prophet, say, "Allah knows best about the period of their stay there, for He is fully aware of all that is hidden in the heavens and the earth.â€ What an excellent Seer and Hearer He is! There is no other guardian of the creation in the heavens and the earth, and He does not associate anyone with Himself in His authority.

Translit: Quli Allahu aAAlamu bima labithoo lahu ghaybu alssamawati waalardi absir bihi waasmiAA ma lahum min doonihi min waliyyin wala yushriku fee hukmihi ahadan

Translation:

Proclaim, "This is the Truth from your Lord: now whosoever will, he may accept it and whosoever will, he may reject it.â€ (As for those who reject this,) We have prepared for such workers of iniquity a fire whose flames have encircled them. If they will ask for water there, they will be treated with such a drink as will have its residue like that of oil and burn their lips: what an evil drink and what an evil abode!

Translit: Waquli alhaqqu min rabbikum faman shaa falyumin waman shaa falyakfur inna aAAtadna lilththalimeena naran ahata bihim suradiquha wain yastagheethoo yughathoo bimain kaalmuhli yashwee alwujooha bisa alshsharabu wasaat murtafaqan

Translation:

Remember! When We said to the angels, "Bow down before Adam". They bowed down but Iblis did not. He was one of the jinns, so he chose the way of disobedience to his Lord's Command.48 What, would you then discard Me and make him and his offspring your patrons, though they are your enemies? What a bad substitute it is that these workers of iniquity are taking!

Translit: Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa kana mina aljinni fafasaqa AAan amri rabbihi afatattakhithoonahu wathurriyyatahu awliyaa min doonee wahum lakum AAaduwwun bisa lilththalimeena badalan

Translation:

The only mission for which We send the Messengers is to convey good news and stern warning, but the disbelievers employ weapons of falsehood to defeat the Truth, and they hold up to ridicule My servants and the warnings that have been sent to them.

Translit: Wama nursilu almursaleena illa mubashshireena wamunthireena wayujadilu allatheena kafaroo bialbatili liyudhidoo bihi alhaqqa waittakhathoo ayatee wama onthiroo huzuwan

Translation:

Your Lord is very Forgiving and very Merciful: Had He willed to seize them for their evil deeds, He would have sent immediately a scourge on them but He has appointed a time for its fulfillment, and they will find no way out to escape from it.

Translit: Warabbuka alghafooru thoo alrrahmati law yuakhithuhum bima kasaboo laAAajjala lahumu alAAathaba bal lahum mawAAidun lan yajidoo min doonihi mawilan

What, do these people, who have disbelieved, presume that they would make My servants their helpers beside Me?75 We have prepared Hell for the hospitality of such people.

Translit: Afahasiba allatheena kafaroo an yattakhithoo AAibadee min doonee awliyaa inna aAAtadna jahannama lilkafireena nuzulan

Their recompense is Hell for the disbelief they showed and for the mockery they adopted in regard to My Signs and My Messengers.

These people have set up other gods than Allah so that they may become their supporters.

Translit: Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan liyakoonoo lahum AAizzan

When he saw a fire he said to his family, "Wait a bit, I have seen a fire: it may be that I bring a burning brand for you, or find guidance (to the way) at the fire."

Translit: Ith raa naran faqala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha biqabasin aw ajidu AAala alnnari hudan

Translation:

Pharaoh said, "Have you believed in him before I gave you permission? Obviously, he is your master who has taught you sorcery. Well, now I will have your hands and feet cut off on alternate sides46 and crucify you on the trunks of palm-trees then you shall know whose punishment is more terrible and tasting (mine or that of Moses)."

Translit: Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi alnnakhli walataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa

Translation:

Have the earthly deities they have set up the power to give life and raise the (inanimate) things?

Translit: Ami ittakhathoo alihatan mina alardi hum yunshiroona

Translation:

Have they discarded Him and set up other deities? Say to them, O Muhammad, "Bring your authority; here is this Book, which contains Admonition for the people of my time, and there are also those Books which contained Admonition for the former people." But most of these people have no knowledge of the Reality; therefore they have turned away from it.

Translit: Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan qul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru man maAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoona

Translation:

When these disbelievers see you, they scoff at you: they say, "What! Is this the man who speaks slightingly of your deities?" But as for them they discard with disdain the mention of the Merciful.

Translit: Waitha raaka allatheena kafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikri alrrahmani hum kafiroona

Translation:

Whenever in their anguish they will try to come out of Hell, they shall be driven back into it (with the rebuke): "Taste now the torment of burning."

Translit: Kullama aradoo an yakhrujoo minha min ghammin oAAeedoo feeha wathooqoo AAathaba alhareeqi

Translation:

Then they should clean off their "dirt fulfill their vows and go round the "Ancient House."

Translit: Thumma lyaqdoo tafathahum walyoofoo nuthoorahum walyattawwafoo bialbayti alAAateeqi

Translation:

O mankind! A parable is related to you: so listen to it. The deities, whom you invoke instead of Allah, cannot create a fly even though they may all combine together for this purpose. Nay! if a fly snatches away something from them, they cannot get it back from it. How weak are the suppliants and how weak those whom they supplicate.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu duriba mathalun faistamiAAoo lahu inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi lan yakhluqoo thubaban walawi ijtamaAAoo lahu wain yaslubuhumu alththubabu shayan la yastanqithoohu minhu daAAufa alttalibu waalmatloobu

who guard their private parts scrupulously,

Translit: Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona

and who strictly guard their Prayers.

Translit: Waallatheena hum AAala salawatihim yuhafithoona

These are the heirs

Translit: Olaika humu alwarithoona

Translation:

who will inherit Paradise10 and dwell therein for ever.

Translit: Allatheena yarithoona alfirdawsa hum feeha khalidoona

then most surely you shall' be raised up on the Day of Resurrection.

Translation:

They say, "Shall we be raised up again, when we have turned into dust after death and become mere bones?

Translit: Qaloo aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona

Translation:

I hope I will now do righteous deeds." By no means! it is a mere saying that he is uttering: for now there is a barrier between the dead (and the world which they have left) up to the Day when they shall be raised up again.

Translit: LaAAallee aAAmalu salihan feema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qailuha wamin waraihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoona

Translation:

Impure women are for impure men and impure men for impure women, and pure women are for pure men and pure men for pure women. They are free from those scandals which the slanderers utter. There is forgiveness for them and honorable provision.

Translit: Alkhabeethatu lilkhabeetheena waalkhabeethoona lilkhabeethati waalttayyibatu lilttayyibeena waalttayyiboona lilttayyibati olaika mubarraoona mimma yaqooloona lahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun

Translation:

And O Prophet, enjoin the Believing men to restrain their gaze and guard their private parts. This is a more righteous way for them: Allah has knowledge of what they do.

Translit: Qul lilmumineena yaghuddoo min absarihum wayahfathoo furoojahum thalika azka lahum inna Allaha khabeerun bima yasnaAAoona

Translation:

Yet the people have set up, besides Him, deities, who do not create anything but are themselves created, who can neither harm nor help even themselves: who have no power over life or death, nor can they raise up the dead.

Translit: Waittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona wala yamlikoona lianfusihim darran wala nafAAan wala yamlikoona mawtan wala hayatan wala nushooran

Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust.

Translit: Waqadimna ila ma AAamiloo min AAamalin fajaAAalnahu habaan manthooran

Translation:

For it was he, who had deluded me to reject the Admonition which had come to me. Satan has proved very treacherous to man."

Translit: Laqad adallanee AAani alththikri baAAda ith jaanee wakana alshshaytanu lilinsani khathoolan

And the Messenger will say, "O my Lord, my people had made this Qur'an the object of their ridicule."

Translit: Waqala alrrasoolu ya rabbi inna qawmee ittakhathoo hatha alqurana mahjooran

When these people see you, they scoff at you, (saying), "Is this the man whom Allah has sent as His Messenger?

Translit: Waitha raawka in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee baAAatha Allahu rasoolan

who have provoked us much;

Translit: Wainnahum lana laghaithoona

Translation:

and do not disgrace me on the Day when everybody will be raised back to life,

Translit: Wala tukhzinee yawma yubAAathoona

What! You erect for mere pleasure, a monument on every high spot,

Translit: Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatan taAAbathoona

Translation:

and build huge castles as if you were immortal;

Translit: Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona

Translation:

Tell them, "None but Allah has the knowledge of the unseen, in the heavens and the earth, and they (your deities) do not even know when they will be raised back to life."

Translit: Qul la yaAAlamu man fee alssamawati waalardi alghayba illa Allahu wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona

Translation:

The fact is that your Lord is highly Gracious to the people, but most of them are not grateful.

Translit: Wainna rabbaka lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona

Translation:

And when he arrived at the well of Madyan he saw a multitude of people watering their animals and apart from them two women keeping their animals back. Moses asked the women "What is your worry?" They said "We cannot water our animals until these shepherds have taken away their animals; and our father is a very old man."

Translit: Walamma warada maa madyana wajada AAalayhi ommatan mina alnnasi yasqoona wawajada min doonihimu imraatayni tathoodani qala ma khatbukuma qalata la nasqee hatta yusdira alrriAAao waaboona shaykhun kabeerun

Translation:

When Moses completed the term and he was traveling with his family, he saw a fire in the direction of Tur. He said to his family, "Stay a while: I have seen a fire: I may bring some information from there, or a burning brand with which you may warm yourselves."

Translit: Falamma qada moosaalajala wasara biahlihi anasa min janibi alttoori naran qala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha bikhabarin aw jathwatin mina alnnari laAAallakum tastaloona

Translation:

One day he came out before his people in all his fineries. Those who sought the life of this world, said, "Would that we had the like of what Korah has been given! He is indeed a very lucky man."

Translit: Fakharaja AAala qawmihi fee zeenatihi qala allatheena yureedoona alhayata alddunya ya layta lana mithla ma ootiya qaroonu innahu lathoo haththin AAatheemin

Translation:

The likeness of those who have taken other patrons than Allah, is the likeness of a spider, which makes itself a dwelling; and the weakest of all dwellings is the dwelling of a spider. Would that these people had knowledge!73

Translit: Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona

Translation:

(and they will know of it) on the Day when the torment will cover them from above them as well as from beneath their feet, and will say, "Now taste your own misdeeds."

Translit: Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabu min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqoo ma kuntum taAAmaloona

Translation:

And when the Hour is established, the criminals will swear that they had not stayed for more than an hour; thus they used to be deceived in their worldly life.

Translit: Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yuqsimu almujrimoona ma labithoo ghayra saAAatin kathalika kanoo yufakoona

Translation:

So, taste now the recompense of your having forgotten the meeting of this Day. We, too, have forgotten you now! Taste the everlasting torment in consequence of your misdeeds."

Translit: Fathooqoo bima naseetum liqaa yawmikum hatha inna naseenakum wathooqoo AAathaba alkhuldi bima kuntum taAAmaloona

As for those who have adopted evil, their abode shall be Hell. Whenever they try to get out of it, they will be pushed back into it and it will be said to them, "Taste now the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."

Translit: Waamma allatheena fasaqoo famawahumu alnnaru kullama aradoo an yakhrujoo minha oAAeedoo feeha waqeela lahum thooqoo AAathaba alnnari allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona

Translation:

If the enemies had made entry from all sides of the city, and these people had been urged to treachery, they would have committed it, and would have little hesitated to become partners in it. T

Translit: Walaw dukhilat AAalayhim min aqtariha thumma suiloo alfitnata laatawha wama talabbathoo biha illa yaseeran

Translation:

O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet without permission, nor stay watching for the meal time; but if you are invited to meals, do come, and when you have taken food, disperse. Do not engage in talk and discussion, for such behavior causes trouble to the Prophet but he is shy of saying anything, and Allah does not feel shy in telling the truth. If you have to ask the wives of the Prophet for something, ask for it from behind a curtain. This is a better way for the purity of your as well as their hearts. It is not at all permissible that you should trouble the Messenger of Allah, nor is it permissible that you should marry his wives after him. This is a grave offense in the sight of Allah.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tadkhuloo buyoota alnnabiyyi illa an yuthana lakum ila taAAamin ghayra nathireena inahu walakin itha duAAeetum faodkhuloo faitha taAAimtum faintashiroo wala mustaniseena lihadeethin inna thalikum kana yuthee alnnabiyya fayastahyee minkum waAllahu la yastahyee mina alhaqqi waitha saaltumoohunna mataAAan faisaloohunna min warai hijabin thalikum atharu liquloobikum waquloobihinna wama kana lakum an tuthoo rasoola Allahi wala an tankihoo azwajahu min baAAdihi abadan in

Translation:

Allah has cursed in this world and in the Hereafter those who cause trouble to Allah and His Messenger, and has prepared for them a disgraceful punishment.

Translit: Inna allatheena yuthoona Allaha warasoolahu laAAanahumu Allahu fee alddunya waalakhirati waaAAadda lahum AAathaban muheenan

Translation:

And those who cause trouble to the believing men and women for no fault of theirs, have indeed born on their head the burden of a grave slander and a manifest sin.

Translit: Waallatheena yuthoona almumineena waalmuminati bighayri ma iktasaboo faqadi ihtamaloo buhtanan waithman mubeenan

They will be cursed from every side and will be seized wherever they are found and killed mercilessly.

Translit: MalAAooneena aynama thuqifoo okhithoo waquttiloo taqteelan

Translation:

Then, when we decreed death for Solomon, there was nothing to inform the jinns of his death except the wood louse which was eating away his staff. So, when Solomon fell down, it became clear to the Jinns that if they had known the unseen, they would not have continued in the humiliating torment.

Translit: Falamma qadayna AAalayhi almawta ma dallahum AAala mawtihi illa dabbatu alardi takulu minsaatahu falamma kharra tabayyanati aljinnu an law kanoo yaAAlamoona alghayba ma labithoo fee alAAathabi almuheeni

Translation:

(At that time We shall say:) "Today you can neither help nor harm one another." And to the wrongdoers We shall say, Now taste the torment of Hell which you used to deny."

Translit: Faalyawma la yamliku baAAdukum libaAAdin nafAAan wala darran wanaqoolu lillatheena thalamoo thooqoo AAathaba alnnari allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona

Translation:

Would that you could see these people when they will be in a state of confusion! They will not be able to escape but will be seized from a place close by.

Translit: Walaw tara ith faziAAoo fala fawta waokhithoo min makanin qareebin

Translation:

Indeed, Satan is your enemy; therefore, you also should treat kiln as your enemy. He is inviting his followers towards his way so that they may join the dwellers of Hell.

Translit: Inna alshshaytana lakum AAaduwwun faittakhithoohu AAaduwwan innama yadAAoo hizbahu liyakoonoo min ashabi alssaAAeeri

Translation:

There they will cry out and say, "Our Lord, take us out from here so that we may do good works other than those which we had been doing." (The reply will be) "Did We not give you lives long enough so that he who would, could take a warning? And the warner also had come to you. Now taste (the torment). The wicked will have no helper here."

Translit: Wahum yastarikhoona feeha rabbana akhrijna naAAmal salihan ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu awalam nuAAammirkum ma yatathakkaru feehi man tathakkara wajaakumu alnnatheeru fathooqoo fama lilththalimeena min naseerin

Translation:

Should I take other gods than Him? Whereas if the Merciful God intends to harm me, their intercession cannot avail me anything, nor can they rescue me.

Translit: Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatan in yuridni alrrahmanu bidurrin la tughni AAannee shafaAAatuhum shayan wala yunqithooni

Translation:

If We please We can drown them when they would have no one to hear their cry, nor would they be rescued in any way.

Translit: Wain nasha nughriqhum fala sareekha lahum wala hum yunqathoona

Translation:

Yet, they have set up other gods, apart from Allah, hoping that they would be helped.

Translit: Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroona

Translation:

What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be raised up to life?

Translit: Aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona

Translation:

he would have remained in the fish's belly till the Day of Resurrection.

Translit: Lalabitha fee batnihi ila yawmi yubAAathoona

Translation:

Was he the only (fit) person among us to whom Allah's Admonition should have been sent down?" The fact of the matter is that they doubt My "Admonition", and they say this because they have not yet tasted My punishment.

Translit: Aonzila AAalayhi alththikru min baynina bal hum fee shakkin min thikree bal lamma yathooqoo AAathabi

Before them did the people of Noah and 'Ad and the Pharaoh of the stakes,

Beware! Religion is exclusively Allah's right. As for those who have taken other guardians besides Him (and justify their conduct, saying): "We worship them only that they may bring us closer to Allah." Allah will surely judge between them concerning all that in which they differ. Allah does not show guidance to any liar and denier of the truth.

Translit: Ala lillahi alddeenu alkhalisu waallatheena ittakhathoo min doonihi awliyaa ma naAAbuduhum illa liyuqarriboona ila Allahi zulfa inna Allaha yahkumu baynahum fee ma hum feehi yakhtalifoona inna Allaha la yahdee man huwa kathibun kaffarun

Now, how can you imagine the plight of the one who will receive the severe punishment of the Day of Resurrection on his face? To such wrongdoers it will be said, "Taste now (the fruit of) what you had been earning."

Translit: Afaman yattaqee biwajhihi sooa alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati waqeela lilththalimeena thooqoo ma kuntum taksiboona

What! Have they taken besides Allah others as intercessors? Say to them, "Will they intercede even if they have no power whatever nor understanding?"

Translation:

Before them the people of Noah also denied, and so did many a host after them. Every nation fell upon its Messenger to seize him: they all tried to defeat the Truth by means of falsehood, but, at last, I seized them. Then, just see, how severe was My punishment!

Translit: Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waalahzabu min baAAdihim wahammat kullu ommatin birasoolihim liyakhuthoohu wajadaloo bialbatili liyudhidoo bihi alhaqqa faakhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi

Exalted in ranks and Master of the Throne, He sends down the Spirit by His Command upon whomsoever of His servants He pleases, to give warning of the Day of Meeting,

It is Allah Who made the night for you to rest in it, and made the day bright. The fact is that Allah is highly Bounteous to the people, yet most people are not thankful.

But none can attain to this quality except those who endure with patience, and none can attain to this rank except those who are men of great good fortune.

(O Prophet,) Nothing is being said to you that has not already been said to the Messengers before you. Surely your Lord is highly forgiving, yet stern in inflicting a painful punishment.

When We bless man, he turns away and grows stiff necked; but when an evil touches him, he comes with lengthy supplications.

Those who have taken some others than Him as guardians, Allah is watching them; you are not responsible for their conduct.

What! Have (the foolish people) taken other guardians besides Him? Guardian is Allah alone: He alone gives life to the dead, and He has power over everything.

Translit: Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi awliyaa faAllahu huwa alwaliyyu wahuwa yuhyee almawta wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Translation:

The people became divided only after the Knowledge had come to them just because they wanted to wrong one another. Had your Lord not already issued the Word to defer their punishment till an appointed time, the matter would surely have been settled between them. And the fact is that those who were made to inherit the Book after them, are involved in a disquieting doubt concerning it.

Translit: Wama tafarraqoo illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika ila ajalin musamman laqudiya baynahum wainna allatheena oorithoo alkitaba min baAAdihim lafee shakkin minhu mureebin

But whenever We removed the torment from them, they would go back on their word.

Translit: Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alAAathaba itha hum yankuthoona

They will call out, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will answer, "Here you must remain!

"Seize him and drag him into the midst of Hell,

There they shall never taste death, after their fast death in the world, and Allah by His grace will protect them from the torment of Hell.

Translit: La yathooqoona feeha almawta illa almawtata aloola wawaqahum AAathaba aljaheemi

Translation:

They have Hell in front of them. Nothing of what they have earned in the world will avail them anything, nor those whom they have taken for guardians instead of Allah. There is a great punishment for them.

Translit: Min waraihim jahannamu wala yughnee AAanhum ma kasaboo shayan wala ma ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa walahum AAathabun AAatheemun

We have enjoined man to treat his parents with kindness. His mother bore him with hardship and she gave him birth with hardship, and his bearing and his weaning took thirty months, until when he attained to his full strength and became forty years old, he said, "O my Lord, grant me the grace that I may thank You for the favors You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do such good works as may please You, and make my children also good to comfort me. I turn to You in penitence and I am of those who have surrendered to You (as Muslims). "

Translit: Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi ihsanan hamalathu ommuhu kurhan wawadaAAathu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhu thalathoona shahran hatta itha balagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaAAeena sanatan qala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtu ilayka wainnee mina almuslimeena

Translation:

Then, why did not those beings help them whom they had made their gods instead of Allah, and regarded them as a means of attaining nearness to Him? Nay, they were lost from them: and this was the end of their lies and their false beliefs that they had invented.

Translit: Falawla nasarahumu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatan bal dalloo AAanhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanoo yaftaroona

The Day the disbelievers are mustered at the Fire, they will be asked, "Is not this the Truth ?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord (this is the very Truth!)." Allah will say, "Well, then taste the torment in consequence of your denying the Truth (in the world)."

Translit: Wayawma yuAAradu allatheena kafaroo AAala alnnari alaysa hatha bialhaqqi qaloo bala warabbina qala fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

Translation:

Therefore, endure with patience, O Prophet, as did the Messengers endowed with the firmness of purpose, and do not be in haste concerning them. The day these people see that with which they are being threatened, it will so appear to them that they did not stay in the world for more than an hour of a day. The Message has been conveyed. Now, shall any other than the disobedient people be destroyed?

Translit: Faisbir kama sabara oloo alAAazmi mina alrrusuli wala tastaAAjil lahum kaannahum yawma yarawna ma yooAAadoona lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan min naharin balaghun fahal yuhlaku illa alqawmu alfasiqoona

Translation:

When you set out to take the spoils, those who were left behind, will surely say to you, "Allow us too to go with you." They wish to change Allah"s decree. Tell them plainly, "You shall not come with us. Allah has already said this before." They will say, "Nay, but you are jealous of us." (Whereas there is no question of jealousy), but they little understand the truth.

Translit: Sayaqoolu almukhallafoona itha intalaqtum ila maghanima litakhuthooha tharoona nattabiAAkum yureedoona an yubaddiloo kalama Allahi qul lan tattabiAAoona kathalikum qala Allahu min qablu fasayaqooloona bal tahsudoonana bal kanoo la yafqahoona illa qaleelan

and many spoils which they will (soon) take. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Translit: Wamaghanima katheeratan yakhuthoonaha wakana Allahu AAazeezan hakeeman

Allah promises you rich spoils which you will acquire. Presently He has granted you this victory. And has restrained the hands of the people from you so that it they be a sign to the believers, and Allah may guide you to the right way.

(It will , be said to them: ) "Now taste your mischief. This is the same which you were seeking to be hastened.

The Day they are dragged into the Fire, on their faces, it will be said to them, "Taste now the flame of Hell."

Only your Lord, possessed of majesty and honor, shall endure for ever.

Translit: Wayabqa wajhu rabbika thoo aljalali waalikrami

O company of jinn and men! If you have the power to escape across the bounds of the earth and the heavens, then escape! You shall not escape, for it requires great power.

Translit: Ya maAAshara aljinni waalinsi ini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari alssamawati waalardi faonfuthoo la tanfuthoona illa bisultanin

and used to say, "What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be raised up again?

Have you ever considered the seeds that you sow ?

Therefore, strive in rivalry with one another in hastening towards the Paradise the vastness of which is like the vastness of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who have believed in Allah and His Messengers. This is Allah's bounty which He bestows on whomever He wills, and Allah's bounty is immense!

Translit: Sabiqoo ila maghfiratin min rabbikum wajannatin AAarduha kaAAardi alssamai waalardi oAAiddat lillatheena amanoo biAllahi warusulihi thalika fadlu Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

(You should adopt this way) so that the people of the Book may know that they do not have the sole right to Allah's bounty, and that Allah's bounty is in His own hand, which He bestows on whomsoever He wills, and Allah's bounty is infinite.

Translit: Lialla yaAAlama ahlu alkitabi alla yaqdiroona AAala shayin min fadli Allahi waanna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

Those who pronounce zihar with regard to their wives, then wish to go back on what they had said, shall have to free a slave before the two touch each other. This you are advised to do and Allah is well aware of whatever you do.

They have made their oaths a covering under which they debar others from the Way of Allah. For this they shall have a disgraceful torment.

Whatever Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the settlements, belongs to Allah and the Messenger and the kinsfolk and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarers, so that it does not remain circulating among your rich people only. Take whatever the Messenger gives you and refrain from whatever he forbids you. Fear Allah, for Allah is stern in inflicting punishment.

Translit: Ma afaa Allahu AAala rasoolihi min ahli alqura falillahi walilrrasooli walithee alqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeni waibni alssabeeli kay la yakoona doolatan bayna alaghniyai minkum wama atakumu alrrasoolu fakhuthoohu wama nahakum AAanhu faintahoo waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

O you who have believed, if you have come out (from your homes and emigrated) in order to fight in My way and to seek My goodwill, then do not make friends with My enemies and your enemies. You show them friendship even though they have refused to believe in the Truth that has come to you, while they drive out the Messenger and you away only because you believe in Allah, your Lord. You send them friendly messages secretly, whereas I know full well whatever you do secretly and whatever you do openly. Whoever from among you does so, has indeed gone astray from the right way.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo AAaduwwee waAAaduwwakum awliyaa tulqoona ilayhim bialmawaddati waqad kafaroo bima jaakum mina alhaqqi yukhrijoona alrrasoola waiyyakum an tuminoo biAllahi rabbikum in kuntum kharajtum jihadan fee sabeelee waibtighaa mardatee tusirroona ilayhim bialmawaddati waana aAAlamu bima akhfaytum wama aAAlantum waman yafAAalhu minkum faqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli

And remember what Moses had said to his people: "O my people, why do you hurt me even though you know full well that I am indeed a messenger sent to you by Allah?" So, when they adopted perverseness, Allah caused their hearts to become perverse: Allah does not guide the transgressors.

Translit: Waith qala moosa liqawmihi ya qawmi lima tuthoonanee waqad taAAlamoona annee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum falamma zaghoo azagha Allahu quloobahum waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena

This is Allah's bounty; He bestows it on whomever He wills, and Allah is the Owner of supreme bounty.

They have made their oaths as a shield and so they hinder themselves and others from the Way of Allah. Evil indeed are the deeds that they do.

The disbelievers assert that they shall never be raised up from death. Say to them, "Nay, by my Lord! You shall certainly be raised up. Then certainly you shall be told what you have done (in the world), and this is an easy thing for Allah to do."

Translit: ZaAAama allatheena kafaroo an lan yubAAathoo qul bala warabbee latubAAathunna thumma latunabbaonna bima AAamiltum wathalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

Let the rich man spend according to his means and let the one whose means are restricted, spend out of what Allah has given him. Allah does not burden anyone with more than what He has given him. It may well be that Allah brings about ease after hardship.

They will be attended by brisk-moving boys who will for ever remain boys. When you see them, you would think they were scattered pearls.
