Such people are on the right way from their Lord and such are truly successful.

Allah has sealed up their hearts and ears and a covering has fallen over their eyes, and they have incurred the severest punishment.

Or (still another parable may be cited to depict their condition): heavy rain is falling from the sky, accompanied by pitch darkness, thunder and lightning. When they hear the thunderclap, they thrust their fingers into their ears for fear of death, but Allah is encircling the disbelievers on all sides.

Translit: Aw kasayyibin mina alssamai feehi thulumatun waraAAdun wabarqun yajAAaloona asabiAAahum fee athanihim mina alssawaAAiqi hathara almawti waAllahu muheetun bialkafireena

Translation:

The lightning terrifies them as if it were going to snatch away their eyesight from them. When they see light, they move on a little further and When it becomes dark for them, they stand still. Had Allah so willed, He could have deprived them totally of their hearing and their sight. Most surely Allah has power over everything.

Translit: yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahum kullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi wa itha athlama AAalayhim qamoo wa law shaa Allahu lathahaba bisamAAihim wa absarihim inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

But if you do not do this, and you can never do this, then fear the Fire which has been prepared for the disbelievers and which shall have men and stones for fuel

Translation:

Just recall the time when your Lord said to the angels, "I am going to appoint a vicegerent on the Earth." They humbly enquired, "Are you going to appoint such a one as will cause disorder and shed blood on the Earth? We are already engaged in hymning Your praise, and hallowing Your name". Allah replied, "I know what you do not know."

Translit: Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee jaAAilun fee alardi khaleefatan qaloo atajAAalu feeha man yufsidu feeha wayasfiku alddimaa wanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wanuqaddisu laka qala innee aAAlamu ma la taAAlamoona

They replied, "Glory be to You. You alone are free from defect. We possess only that much knowledge which You have given us. Indeed You alone are All-Knowing and All-Wise."

Call to mind that when We invited Moses for a fixed term of forty nights and days, you took to calf worship in his absence.

Translation:

Remember that when Moses (returned with the Divine Gift, he) said to his people, "O my people, you have .wronged yourselves grievously by taking the calf for worship. Therefore, turn to your Creator . in penitence and slay the guilty ones among you.70 This is best for you in the sight of your Creator." At that time your Creator accepted your repentance because He is Relenting and Merciful.

Translit: wa ith qala moosa liqawmihi yaqawmi innakum thalamtum anfusakum biittikhathikumu alAAijla fatooboo ila bariikum faoqtuloo anfusakum thalikum khayrun lakum AAinda bariikum fataba AAalaykum innahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu

Translation:

Remember when you said, "O Moses, we are not going to believe you until we see with our own eyes Allah (talking to you)". At that very time a thunderbolt struck you while you were looking on and you fell lifeless.

Translit: Waith qultum ya moosa lan numina laka hatta nara Allaha jahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantum tanthuroona

Translation:

Rest assured that whosoever from among the Muslims or the Jews or the Christians or the Sabaeans believes in Allah and the Last Day, and performs good deeds, he will have his reward with his Lord and he will have no cause for fear and grief.80

Translit: Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalnnasara waalssabieena man amana biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri waAAamila salihan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Thus We made their end a warning to the people of their time and succeeding generations, and an admonition for God-fearing people.

Translation:

When they meet those who believe in Muhammad, they say, "We also believe in him." But when they meet one another in private, they say, "Have you got no sense that you disclose to them those things which Allah has revealed to you so that they might bring them as a proof against you before your Lord?

Translit: wa itha laqoo allatheena amanoo qaloo amanna wa itha khala baAAduhum ila baAAdin qaloo atuhaddithoonahum bima fataha Allahu AAalaykum liyuhajjookum bihi AAinda rabbikum afala taAAqiloona

Translation:

So woe to their learned people, who write the law with their own hands and then say to the people, "This is from Allah," so that they might gain some paltry worldly end. (They do not see that) this writing of their hands will bring woe to them and what they gain thereby will lead to their ruin.

Translit: Fawaylun lillatheena yaktuboona alkitaba biaydeehim thumma yaqooloona hatha min AAindi Allahi liyashtaroo bihi thamanan qaleelan fawaylun lahum mimma katabat aydeehim wawaylun lahum mimma yaksiboona

Translation:

They also say, "The fire of Hell is not going to touch us, and even if it does at all, it will be only for a few days". Say, "Have you obtained a promise from Allah which He would not break? Or, do you attribute to Allah things you do not know?

Translit: Waqaloo lan tamassana alnnaru illa ayyaman maAAdoodatan qul attakhathtum AAinda Allahi AAahdan falan yukhlifa Allahu AAahdahu am taqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

Translation:

And how are they behaving now towards a Book which has come to them from Allah? Inspite of the fact that it confirms the Scriptures which they already possessed. and, inspite of the fact that, before it came, they used to pray for a signal victory over the disbelievers, they rejected it when it came, although they recognized it. May Allahs curse be upon such disbelievers

Translit: Walamma jaahum kitabun min AAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahum wakanoo min qablu yastaftihoona AAala allatheena kafaroo falamma jaahum ma AAarafoo kafaroo bihi falaAAnatu Allahi AAala alkafireena

Translation:

What a mean thing it is with which they delude their minds. They reject the Guidance which Allah has sent down merely because of their grudge why Allah has in His bounty sent it to whom He chose from amongst His servants. They have thus incurred wrath after wrath, and for such disbelievers there is a disgraceful doom.

Translit: Bisama ishtaraw bihi anfusahum an yakfuroo bima anzala Allahu baghyan an yunazzila Allahu min fadlihi AAala man yashao min AAibadihi fabaoo bighadabin AAala ghadabin walilkafireena AAathabun muheenun

(More than that:) Moses came to you with clear Signs, yet no sooner was he away from you than you transgressed and took the calf for worship.

Translation:

Recall also to mind the Covenant We made with you while We raised the Tur over you: `Follow strictly the precepts We are giving you and give ear to Our Commandments. Your forefathers replied, "We have heard but we will not obey." They were so prone to unbelief that they cherished the calf in their hearts. Tell them (O Muhammad). "If indeed you are believers, yours is a strange Faith that enjoins you to do such evil things."

Translit: Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waismaAAoo qaloo samiAAna waAAasayna waoshriboo fee quloobihimu alAAijla bikufrihim qul bisama yamurukum bihi eemanukum in kuntum mumineena

Say to them, "If the abode of the Hereafter with Allah is exclusively reserved for you and not for the rest of mankind, then you should long for death, if you arc sincere in your claim."

Translation:

And whenever a Messenger came to them from Allah, confirming that Scripture which they already possessed, some from among the people of the Book threw the Book of Allah behind their backs as though they knew nothing about it.

Had they believed in Allah and practised piety, they would have received a far better reward from AIIah, if they had but known it.

O Believers, do not say. "Ra ina" but say, "Unzurna " and listen a to what is said; for the disbelievers deserve a painful punishment.

Many of the people of the Book desire to turn you anyhow back to unbelief. They wish this out of the envy of their hearts though the Truth has become quite clear to them. Yet, you should show forbearance and forgiveness to them till Allah Himself enforces His judgement. (Rest assured that) Allah has full power over everything:

Translit: Wadda katheerun min ahli alkitabi law yaruddoonakum min baAAdi eemanikum kuffaran hasadan min AAindi anfusihim min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhaqqu faoAAfoo waisfahoo hatta yatiya Allahu biamrihi inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

establish the Salat and pay the Zakat. you will find with Allah whatever good you send forward for your future; Allah is watching everything you do.

The fact is that no one has any special claim to Paradise; whoever surrenders himself to Allah in obedience and follows the Right Way, shall get his reward from his Lord: there shall be neither fear nor grief for such people.

Translit: Bala man aslama wajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun falahu ajruhu AAinda rabbihi wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

The Jews and the Christians will never be satisfied with you, O Muhammad, until you follow their way.121 Tell them plainly, "The right way is shown by Allah." And if, after all the knowledge you have received, you were to yield to their desires, you shall find neither any friend nor helper to protect you from Allahs wrath.

Translit: Walan tarda AAanka alyahoodu wala alnnasara hatta tattabiAAa millatahum qul inna huda Allahi huwa alhuda walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda allathee jaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

Translation:

Recall to mind that when his Lord put Abraham to test124 in certain things and he fulfilled all of them, He said, "I am going to make you the leader of mankind." Abraham humbly asked, "Does this promise apply to my descendants also?" He replied, "My promise does not apply to the transgressors."

Translit: Waithi ibtala ibraheema rabbuhu bikalimatin faatammahunna qala innee jaAAiluka lilnnasi imaman qala wamin thurriyyatee qala la yanalu AAahdee alththalimeena

And remember that We made this House (the Kabah) the centre nd sanctuary for mankind and enjoined the people to dedicate to worship the place where Abraham used to stand for prayer, and We urged Abraham and Ismail to keep My House pure for those who would go round it and those who would retire to it for devotion and prayer and for those who would bow down and prostrate themselves there in worhsip.126

And remember that when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the walls of the House, they prayed, "Lord, accept this service from us; You are All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

Or do you say that Abraham. Ismail , Isaac, Jacob and his children were all Jews or Christians?" Ask them,"Do you know more than Allah does? And who is more unjust than the one who hides the testimony which Allah has entrusted to him? Allah is not unaware of what you are doing.

Even though you may show every kind of sign to the people of the Book, they will not adopt your qiblah, nor are you going to adopt their qiblah; nor will any of them adopt the qiblah of the other; therefore if, after the knowledge you have received, you follow their desires, you will certainly be counted among the transgressors.

Translit: Walain atayta allatheena ootoo alkitaba bikulli ayatin ma tabiAAoo qiblataka wama anta bitabiAAin qiblatahum wama baAAduhum bitabiAAin qiblata baAAdin walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi innaka ithan lamina alththalimeena

We will surely put you to trial by involving you in fear and hunger and by causing loss of property, life and earnings. And give good tidings to those who remain steadfast in these trials:

Translit: Walanabluwannakum bishayin mina alkhawfi waaljooAAi wanaqsin mina alamwali waalanfusi waalththamarati wabashshiri alssabireena

Indeed Safa and Marwah are among the emblems of Allah: it is, therefore, no sin for him, who performs Hajj or `Umrah to the House of AIIah, to run between the two hills; and Allah knows and appreciates him who does any good with a willing heart.

Translit: Inna alssafa waalmarwata min shaAAairi Allahi faman hajja albayta awi iAAtamara fala junaha AAalayhi an yattawwafa bihima waman tatawwaAAa khayran fainna Allaha shakirun AAaleemun

Indeed Allah curses, and the cursers, too, curse those who conceal the clear teachings and guidance We have sent down, after We have made these plain in the Book for the guidance of all mankind.

Translit: Inna allatheena yaktumoona ma anzalna mina albayyinati waalhuda min baAAdi ma bayyannahu lilnnasi fee alkitabi olaika yalAAanuhumu Allahu wayalAAanuhumu allaAAinoona

Translation:

The mental condition of those who rejected the way of Allah may be likened to that of the cattle whom the shepherd calls but they hear nothing except the sound of shouts and cries.169 They are deaf, they are dumb, they are blind; therefore they do not understand anything.

Translit: Wamathalu allatheena kafaroo kamathali allathee yanAAiqu bima la yasmaAAu illa duAAaan wanidaan summun bukmun AAumyun fahum la yaAAqiloona

Translation:

The Fast is to be observed for a fixed number of days. If, however, anyone of you be sick or on a journey, he should fast the same number of other days. As for those who can fast (but do not), the expiation of this shall be the feeding of one needy person for one fast day, and whoso does more than this with a willing heart does it for his own good. But if you understand the thing, it is better for you to observe the Fast.

Translit: Ayyaman maAAdoodatin faman kana minkum mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara waAAala allatheena yuteeqoonahu fidyatun taAAamu miskeenin faman tatawwaAAa khayran fahuwa khayrun lahu waan tasoomoo khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

Translation:

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down : this Book is a perfect guidance for mankind and consists of clear teachings which show the right way and are a criterion of Truth and falsehood. Therefore from now on whoever witnesses it, it is obligatory on hire to fast the whole month, but if one be ill or on a journey, he should make up for the same number by fasting on other days. Allah desires to show leniency to you and does not desire to show any hardship. "therefore this method is being shown to you so that you may complete the number of Fast days and glorify Allah for the Guidance He has shown to you and be grateful to Him.

Translit: Shahru ramadana allathee onzila feehi alquranu hudan lilnnasi wabayyinatin mina alhuda waalfurqani faman shahida minkumu alshshahra falyasumhu waman kana mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara yureedu Allahu bikumu alyusra wala yureedu bikumu alAAusra walitukmiloo alAAiddata walitukabbiroo Allaha AAala ma hadakum walaAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

And if My servants ask you, O Prophet. concerning Me, tell them that I am quite near to them. I hear and answer the prayer of the suppliant, when he calls to Me. So let them respond to My call and believe in Me.188 Convey this to them, O Prophet; perhaps they may be guided aright.

Translit: Waitha saalaka AAibadee AAannee fainnee qareebun ojeebu daAAwata alddaAAi itha daAAani falyastajeeboo lee walyuminoo bee laAAallahum yarshudoona

Translation:

Fight against them wherever they confront you in combat and drive them out from where they drove you out. Though killing is bad. persecution is worse than killing Do not fight against them near the Masjid Haram unless they attack you there. And if they attack you first (even in that sacred area), strike them (without any hesitation); this is the due punishment for such disbelievers.

Translit: Waoqtuloohum haythu thaqiftumoohum waakhrijoohum min haythu akhrajookum waalfitnatu ashaddu mina alqatli wala tuqatiloohum AAinda almasjidi alharami hatta yuqatilookum feehi fain qatalookum faoqtuloohum kathalika jazao alkafireena

Translation:

And there is nothing wrong if you also seek the bounty of your Lord during the pilgrimage. Moreover, when you return from Arafat, stay at Masharil-Haram (Muzdalifah) and remember Allah. And remember Him just as He has enjoined you, for you had gone astray before this.

Translit: Laysa AAalaykum junahun an tabtaghoo fadlan min rabbikum faitha afadtum min AAarafatin faothkuroo Allaha AAinda almashAAari alharami waothkuroohu kama hadakum wain kuntum min qablihi lamina alddalleena

And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah," vanity seizes him and makes him adhere to the sin. Hell is the proper place for such a person and it is a very bad dwelling indeed.

Translit: Waitha qeela lahu ittaqi Allaha akhathathu alAAizzatu bialithmi fahasbuhu jahannamu walabisa almihadu

On the other side, there is another type of man who devotes his whole life to please Allah, and Allah is gracious to such of His servants.

Ask the children of Israel how many a clear sign We have shown to them: (also ask them) what a severe chastisement Allah inflicts on the community that, after receiving Allahs favour exchanges it (for wretchdness).

Translit: Sal banee israeela kam ataynahum min ayatin bayyinatin waman yubaddil niAAmata Allahi min baAAdi ma jaathu fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

They ask you (O Muhammad) concerning warfare in the prohibited month. Say, "Fighting is a heinous offence in this month, but in the sight of Allah it is far worse to hinder people from the Way of Allah and to deny Him and to prevent His worshippers from visiting the Masjidal-Haram, and to expel the dwellers of the sacred place from it; and persecution is far worse than bloodshed. As for them, they will go on fighting with you till they succeed in turning you away from your Faith, if they can. But (note it well that) whosoever renounces his Faith and dies a renegade, all his works shall be fruitless both in this world and in the Hereafter. All such people deserve the Fire and shall abide in Hell for ever.

Translit: Yasaloonaka AAani alshshahri alharami qitalin feehi qul qitalun feehi kabeerun wasaddun AAan sabeeli Allahi wakufrun bihi waalmasjidi alharami waikhraju ahlihi minhu akbaru AAinda Allahi waalfitnatu akbaru mina alqatli wala yazaloona yuqatiloonakum hatta yaruddookum AAan deenikum ini istataAAoo waman yartadid minkum AAan deenihi fayamut wahuwa kafirun faolaika habitat aAAmaluhum fee alddunya waalakhirati waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

Translation:

They ask you about drinking and gambling. Say, "There is great harm in both, though there is some benefit also for the people. But the harm of the sin thereof is far greater than their benefit."

Translit: Yasaloonaka AAani alkhamri waalmaysiri qul feehima ithmun kabeerun wamanafiAAu lilnnasi waithmuhuma akbaru min nafAAihima wayasaloonaka matha yunfiqoona quli alAAafwa kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakumu alayati laAAallakum tatafakkaroona

Translation:

And when you have divorced your wives and they are about to complete their prescribed term, then either retain them gracefully or release them generously. It is transgression to retain them merely for harassment; and whoever does that indeed wrongs his own self. Do not play with Allahs Commandments, and remember that Allah has blessed you with a great favour. He admonishes you to show due respect to the Book and the Wisdom He has sent to you. Fear Allah and know that He is fully aware of everything.

Translit: Waitha tallaqtumu alnnisaa fabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw sarrihoohunna bimaAAroofin wala tumsikoohunna diraran litaAAtadoo waman yafAAal thalika faqad thalama nafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahi huzuwan waothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum wama anzala AAalaykum mina alkitabi waalhikmati yaAAithukum bihi waittaqoo Allaha waiAAlamoo anna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun

Translation:

It is no offence if you make indirect proposal of marriage to widows during their waiting term or keep it concealed in your hearts: for Allah knows that you will naturally think of them. But be careful not to make any secret engagement. If you have to do anything, do it in an honourable way. And you should not settle anything finally about the marriage until the waiting term expires. Understand it well that Allah even knows what is hidden in your hearts; so fear Him. Also know that Allah is Lenient and Forgiving.

Translit: Wala junaha AAalaykum feema AAarradtum bihi min khitbati alnnisai aw aknantum fee anfusikum AAalima Allahu annakum satathkuroonahunna walakin la tuwaAAidoohunna sirran illa an taqooloo qawlan maAAroofan wala taAAzimoo AAuqdata alnnikahi hatta yablugha alkitabu ajalahu waiAAlamoo anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee anfusikum faihtharoohu waiAAlamoo anna Allaha ghafoorun haleemun

Translation:

It is no sin if you divorce your wives while you have not yet touched them or fixed any dower for them. In such a case, pay them something anyhow. A rich man should pay fairly according to his means and a poor man according to his resources, for this is an obligation on the righteous people.

Translit: La junaha AAalaykum in tallaqtumu alnnisaa ma lam tamassoohunna aw tafridoo lahunna fareedatan wamattiAAoohunna AAala almoosiAAi qadaruhu waAAala almuqtiri qadaruhu mataAAan bialmaAAroofi haqqan AAala almuhsineena

Who is there among you who will lend to Allah a good loan that He may return it after multiplying it manifold? Allah alone can decrease and increase (wealth) and to Him you shall all return.

Translit: Man tha allathee yuqridu Allaha qardan hasanan fayudaAAifahu lahu adAAafan katheeratan waAllahu yaqbidu wayabsutu wailayhi turjaAAoona

Translation:

Their Prophet said to them, "Allah has appointed Saul to be king over you." Hearing this, they replied, "How has he been entitled to become king over us? We have a better right to kingship than he, for he does not even possess enough riches." The Prophet replied, "Allah has preferred him to you and blessed him with abundant powers of mind and body. And Allah has the power to give His kingdom to whomever He wills: Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing."

Translation:

Allah: the Everlasting, the Sustainer of the whole Universe; there is no god but He. He does neither slumber nor sleep. Whatsoever is in the heavens and in the earth is His.280 Who is there that can intercede with Him except by His own permission.? He knows what is before the people and also what is hidden from them. And they cannot comprehend anything of His knowledge save whatever He Himself pleases to reveal. His Kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth and the guarding of these does not weary Him. He alone is the Supreme and the Exalted.

Translit: Allahu laA ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyoomu la takhuthuhu sinatun wa laA nawmun lahu ma fee alssamawati wa maA fee alardi man tha allathee yashfaAAu AAindahu illa biithnihi yaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wa maA khalfahum wa laA yuheetoona bishayin min AAilmihi illa bima shaa wasiAAa kursiyyuhu alssamawati waalarda wa laA yaooduhu hifthuhuma wa huwa alAAaliyyu alAAatheemu

Translation:

Or take the case of the one who passed by a township that had fallen down upon its roofs. He exclaimed, "How shall Allah bring back to life this township that has become dead?" At this Allah caused him to die and he lay dead for a hundred years. Then Allah brought him back to life and asked him, "How long have you lain here?" He answered. "I might have lain here for a day or a few hours." Allah said, "Nay, you have been lying here in this state for a hundred years: now, just have a look at your food and your drink; they have not become spoiled in the least. Then have a look at your ass, (and see that his very bones have become rotten) and We have done this in order to make you a Sign for the people. Look, how We raise up the skeleton and set the bones (of the ass) and cover them with flesh and (put breath of life into them)." And when the Reality became manifest to him, he said, "I know

Translit: Aw kaallathee marra AAala qaryatin wahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha qala anna yuhyee hathihi Allahu baAAda mawtiha faamatahu Allahu miata AAamin thumma baAAathahu qala kam labithta qala labithtu yawman aw baAAda yawmin qala bal labithta miata AAamin faonthur ila taAAamika washarabika lam yatasannah waonthur ila himarika walinajAAalaka ayatan lilnnasi waonthur ila alAAithami kayfa nunshizuha thumma naksooha lahman falamma tabayyana lahu qala aAAlamu anna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Translation:

The charity of those who expend their wealth in the way of Allah may be likened to a grain of corn, which produces seven ears and each ear yields a hundred grains. Likewise Allah develops manifold the charity of anyone He pleases, for He is All-Embracing, All-Wise.

Translit: Mathalu allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum fee sabeeli Allahi kamathali habbatin anbatat sabAAa sanabila fee kulli sunbulatin miatu habbatin waAllahu yudaAAifu liman yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

Those people who expend their wealth in the way of Allah, and then do not follow up their charity with reminders of their generosity nor injure the feelings of the recipient, shall get their reward from their Lord; they will have no fear and no sorrow of any kind.

Translit: Allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum fee sabeeli Allahi thumma la yutbiAAoona ma anfaqoo mannan wala athan lahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

Satan holds out to you the threat of poverty and prompts you to adopt a shameless niggardly conduct, but Allah holds out from Himself the promise of pardon and bounty: Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing.

Translit: Alshshaytanu yaAAidukumu alfaqra wayamurukum bialfahshai waAllahu yaAAidukum maghfiratan minhu wafadlan waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

If you practise charity publicly, it is good; but if you give charity secretly to the needy, it is much better for you, for this will expiate many of your sins. Anyhow, Allah is well aware of whatever you do.

Translit: In tubdoo alssadaqati faniAAimma hiya wain tukhfooha watutooha alfuqaraa fahuwa khayrun lakum wayukaffiru AAankum min sayyiatikum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun

Translation:

Those who spend their wealth secretly and openly by day and night, will have their reward with their Lord, and they have nothing to fear nor grieve.

Translit: Allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum biallayli waalnnahari sirran waAAalaniyatan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

But those who devour interest become like the one whom Satan has bewitched and maddened by his touch. They have been condemned to this condition because they say, "Trade is just like interestâ€, whereas Allah has made trade lawful and interest unlawfu1. Henceforth, if one abstains from taking interest after receiving this admonition from his Lord, no legal action will be taken against him regarding the interest he had devoured before; his case shall ultimately go to Allah. But if one repeats the same crime after this, . he shall go to Hell, where he shall abide for ever.

Translit: Allatheena yakuloona alrriba la yaqoomoona illa kama yaqoomu allathee yatakhabbatuhu alshshaytanu mina almassi thalika biannahum qaloo innama albayAAu mithlu alrriba waahalla Allahu albayAAa waharrama alrriba faman jaahu mawAAithatun min rabbihi faintaha falahu ma salafa waamruhu ila Allahi waman AAada faolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

As to those who believe and do good deeds, establish the Salat and pay the Zakat, they will most surely have their reward with their Lord and they will have nothing to fear nor to grieve.

Translit: Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waaqamoo alssalata waatawoo alzzakata lahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

It is He Who has sent down this Book to you. There are two kinds of verses in this Book: muhkamat (which are precise in meaning: ) they are the essence of the Books5 and the other kind is mutashabihat (which are ambiguous. ) Those, who are perverse of heart, always go after the mutashabihat in pursuit of mischief and try to interpret them arbitrarily, whereas in fact, none save Allah knows their real meanings! In contrast to them, those, who possess sound knowledge, say, "We believe in them because all of them are from our Lord." And the fact is that only the people of insight can learn lessons from such things.

Translit: Huwa allathee anzala AAalayka alkitaba minhu ayatun muhkamatun hunna ommu alkitabi waokharu mutashabihatun faamma allatheena fee quloobihim zayghun fayattabiAAoona ma tashabaha minhu ibtighaa alfitnati waibtighaa taweelihi wama yaAAlamu taweelahu illa Allahu waalrrasikhoona fee alAAilmi yaqooloona amanna bihi kullun min AAindi rabbina wama yaththakkaru illa oloo alalbabi

Translation:

Their end shall be the same as that of the people of Pharaoh and other disbelievers who went before them; they treated the Divine Revelations as falsehoods and Allah seized them because of their sins; for Allah is very stern in retribution.

Translit: Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kaththaboo biayatina faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

You have already had a Sign in the two hosts which met on the battle-field (at Badr). One of these hosts was fighting for the cause of Allah and the other was of the disbelievers: the lookers-on saw with their own eyes that the host of the disbelievers, was twice as big as that of the believers, but (the result of the Battle proved conclusively that) Allah strengthens with His succour whom He wills: there is truly a great lesson hidden in it for those who have eyes to discern."

Translit: Qad kana lakum ayatun fee fiatayni iltaqata fiatun tuqatilu fee sabeeli Allahi waokhra kafiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim raya alAAayni waAllahu yuayyidu binasrihi man yashao inna fee thalika laAAibratan liolee alabsari

Translation:

Love of lusts for women and children. hoarded Heaps of gold and silver, choicest horses, cattle and corn fields, has been made very tempting for people, but these are mere provisions for the transitory life of this world; the ever-lasting and the best abode, however, is with Allah.

Translit: Zuyyina lilnnasi hubbu alshshahawati mina alnnisai waalbaneena waalqanateeri almuqantarati mina alththahabi waalfiddati waalkhayli almusawwamati waalanAAami waalharthi thalika mataAAu alhayati alddunya waAllahu AAindahu husnu almaabi

Translation:

Say, "Should I tell you a thing better than these? There will be Gardens underneath which canals flow for those, who adopt the attitude of piety; there they will dwell for ever and will have pure spouses and they will enjoy Allahs favour. And Allah watches very closely the conduct of His servants."

Translit: Qul aonabbiokum bikhayrin min thalikum lillatheena ittaqaw AAinda rabbihim jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha waazwajun mutahharatun waridwanun mina Allahi waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi

Allah Himself has testified to the fact that there is no deity save Him: the angels and all those endowed with knowledge testify the fact with truth and justice that there is no deity save the All-Mighty the All-Wise.

Translit: Shahida Allahu annahu la ilaha illa huwa waalmalaikatu waoloo alAAilmi qaiman bialqisti la ilaha illa huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Translation:

Indeed, Islam is the only right way of life in the sight of Allah. Those who were given the Book, had adopted ways different from this Way for no other reason than to enable themselves to behave unjustly towards one another, after knowledge had come to them; they should know that Allah is very prompt at reckoning with those who deny and reject His Commandments and Guidance.

Translit: Inna alddeena AAinda Allahi alislamu wama ikhtalafa allatheena ootoo alkitaba illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum waman yakfur biayati Allahi fainna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

Translation:

Now, if they dispute with you, tell them, "As for me and my followers, we have surrendered to Allah." Then ask those, who possess the Book and those who do not, "Have you also surrendered to Him"? If they have surrendered, they are rightly guided. But if they turn away (you need not worry), for your sole responsibility was to convey the Message. As to the consequence, Allah Himself watches closely what His servants do.

Translit: Fain hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootoo alkitaba waalommiyyeena aaslamtum fain aslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wain tawallaw fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi

Translation:

Say, "O Allah, Sovereign of the Kingdom, Thou bestowest kingdom on whomever Thou wilt and Thou takest it away from whomever Thou wilt. Thou exaltest whomever Thou wilt and Thou abasest whomever Thou wilt. All that is good is in Thy power: indeed Thou hast full power over all things.

Translit: Quli allahumma malika almulki tutee almulka man tashao watanziAAu almulka mimman tashao watuAAizzu man tashao watuthillu man tashao biyadika alkhayru innaka AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

That Day is approaching when everyone shall find before him whatever he has done be it good or evil. On that Day one would wish that there were a long span of time between himself and that Day. Allah warns you to fear Him for He is very Compassionate towards His servants.

Translit: Yawma tajidu kullu nafsin ma AAamilat min khayrin muhdaran wama AAamilat min sooin tawaddu law anna baynaha wabaynahu amadan baAAeedan wayuhaththirukumu Allahu nafsahu waAllahu raoofun bialAAibadi

Allah had chosen (for His Message) Adam, and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of Imran in preference to all the people of the world.

(He was hearing,) when the woman of `Imran was saying,. "My Lord, 1 vow to Thee what is in my womb for Thy special service: so accept this offering of mine for Thou hearest and knowest everything."

Translation:

So, her Lord very graciously accepted the girl and made her grow up as a good girl and entrusted her to the care of Zacharias. Whenever Zacharias entered the sanctuary to see her, he found some eatables with her; he would ask, "O Mary, whence have these come to you?" She would answer, "It is from Allah: Allah provides without stint for whom He wills."

Translit: Fataqabbalaha rabbuha biqaboolin hasanin waanbataha nabatan hasanan wakaffalaha zakariyya kullama dakhala AAalayha zakariyya almihraba wajada AAindaha rizqan qala ya maryamu anna laki hatha qalat huwa min AAindi Allahi inna Allaha yarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisabin

Thereupon Zacharias invoked his Lord and said, "Lord, bestow upon me from Thyself righteous offspring for Thou alone hearest prayers."

Translit: Hunalika daAAa zakariyya rabbahu qala rabbi hab lee min ladunka thurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka sameeAAu aldduAAai

(It was to carry out His secret plan that) He said, "O Jesus, now I will recall you and raise you up to Myself and cleanse you of (the uncongenial company and the filthy environment of ) those who have rejected you and will set up those who follow you above those who have rejected you till the Day of Resurrection. And ultimately all of you shall return to Me: then I will judge between you in what you differ,

Translit: Ith qala Allahu ya AAeesa innee mutawaffeeka warafiAAuka ilayya wamutahhiruka mina allatheena kafaroo wajaAAilu allatheena ittabaAAooka fawqa allatheena kafaroo ila yawmi alqiyamati thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faahkumu baynakum feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona

In the sight of Allah, the case of the birth of Jesus is like that of Adam, whom He created out of dust and said, "Be", and he was.

Translit: Inna mathala AAeesa AAinda Allahi kamathali adama khalaqahu min turabin thumma qala lahu kun fayakoonu

Translation:

After the coming of this knowledge to you, if anyone argues with you about this matter, say, O Muhammad, "Come, let us both gather together and also bring our children and your children, our women and your women, and then pray to Allah and invoke Him to lay the liars under His curse."

Translit: Faman hajjaka feehi min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi faqul taAAalaw nadAAu abnaana waabnaakum wanisaana wanisaakum waanfusana waanfusakum thumma nabtahil fanajAAal laAAnata Allahi AAala alkathibeena

You have had enough arguments about things of which you had some knowledge: why should you now argue about that also of which you know nothing at all? Allah knows, but you know nothing.

Translit: Haantum haolai hajajtum feema lakum bihi AAilmun falima tuhajjoona feema laysa lakum bihi AAilmun waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona

They also say, "Do not follow any except the one who follows your own religion." O Prophet, say to them, "In fact the real guidance is the guidance of Allah: (It is His Will) that He may bless one with the same that He once bestowed upon you, or He may provide others with a strong argument against you to put it before your Lord." O Prophet, say to them, "Bounty and Grace belong to Allah and He may bestow these upon any one He wills, for He is All Embracing, All-knowing: "

Translit: Wala tuminoo illa liman tabiAAa deenakum qul inna alhuda huda Allahi an yuta ahadun mithla ma ooteetum aw yuhajjookum AAinda rabbikum qul inna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

There are among them some people, who, in reading the Book, twist their tongues in a way to make you think that what they read is a part of the Book, whereas, in fact it is not a part of the Book. They also assert, "What we are reading is from Allah," when in fact it is not from Allah. They knowingly ascribe the lie to Allah.

Translit: Wainna minhum lafareeqan yalwoona alsinatahum bialkitabi litahsaboohu mina alkitabi wama huwa mina alkitabi wayaqooloona huwa min AAindi Allahi wama huwa min AAindi Allahi wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona

Translation:

No man, to whom Allah gives the Book and sound judgment and Prophethood, would say thereafter to the people, "Be worshippers of me instead of Allah." He will surely say, "Be true Rabbanis in accordance with the teachings of the Book you read and teach.

Translit: Ma kana libasharin an yutiyahu Allahu alkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwata thumma yaqoola lilnnasi koonoo AAibadan lee min dooni Allahi walakin koonoo rabbaniyyeena bima kuntum tuAAallimoona alkitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoona

Translation:

Say, "O people of Book, why do you stand in the way of him who believes in the Revelations of Allah and desire that he should follow a crooked way when you yourselves are a witness to it (that he is on the Right Way)?" Allah is not unaware of what you are doing.

Translit: Qul ya ahla alkitabi lima tasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana tabghoonaha AAiwajan waantum shuhadao wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

Translation:

O Messenger, mention that occasion to the Muslims when you set out from your house-hold early in the morning and began to assign to the Muslims their positions on the battlefield (of Uhd). Allah hears everything and knows everything.

Translit: Waith ghadawta min ahlika tubawwio almumineena maqaAAida lilqitali waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

Allah has told you this so that you may rejoice and your hearts be filled with peace: victory and succour come from Allah alone, Who is All-Powerful, All-Wise.

Translit: Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra lakum walitatmainna quloobukum bihi wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi

And guard yourselves against that Fire which has been prepared for the disbelievers,

Hasten to follow the path that leads to forgiveness from your Lord and to the Garden, which is as vast as the heavens and the earth and has been prepared for those pious people

Translation:

This is a clear warning for the people and guidance and admonition for those who fear Allah.

Translit: Hatha bayanun lilnnasi wahudan wamawAAithatun lilmuttaqeena

Translation:

Recall how you were fleeing in such a panic that you did not even look back at one another, and the Messenger in your rear was calling nut to you. Consequently, Allah inflicted upon you one sorrow after the other so that you may learn this lesson for the that you should not grieve for what you have lost and for any misfortune that might befall you: Allah is fully aware of all that you are doing.

Translit: Ith tusAAidoona wala talwoona AAala ahadin waalrrasoolu yadAAookum fee okhrakum faathabakum ghamman bighammin likayla tahzanoo AAala ma fatakum wala ma asabakum waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona

Translation:

Then after this grief, Allah sent down upon some of you such a sense of peace and security that they began to drowse, but the others, who attached importance only to their own worldly interests, began to cherish about Allah thoughts of ignorance which were void of truth. Now they ask, "Have we also a say in .the conduct of affairs?" Say, ("No one has share in this.) The authority over the affairs rests wholly with Allah." In fact they are not disclosing to you what they are concealing in their hearts: what they really mean is this: "If we had a say (in the conduct of) the affairs, none of us would have been slain here." Tell them, "Even though you had remained in your houses, those, who were destined to be slain, would have gone forth of their own accord to the places where they were destined to be slain." And all this happened so that Allah may test that which was hidden in your hearts,

Translit: Thumma anzala AAalaykum min baAAdi alghammi amanatan nuAAasan yaghsha taifatan minkum wataifatun qad ahammathum anfusuhum yathunnoona biAllahi ghayra alhaqqi thanna aljahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lana mina alamri min shayin qul inna alamra kullahu lillahi yukhfoona fee anfusihim ma la yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kana lana mina alamri shayon ma qutilna hahuna qul law kuntum fee buyootikum labaraza allatheena kutiba AAalayhimu alqatlu ila madajiAAihim waliyabtaliya Allahu ma fee sudoorikum waliyuma

Translation:

O Believers, do not behave like disbelievers: when their brethren are on a journey or take part in a battle, (and ever meet with some accident) they say, "Had they stayed with us, they would not have died nor would have been slain." Allah makes such things a cause of grief and anguish in their hearts: for in fact, it is Allah who ordains both life and death; Allah is watching all that you do.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la takoonoo kaallatheena kafaroo waqaloo liikhwanihim itha daraboo fee alardi aw kanoo ghuzzan law kanoo AAindana ma matoo wama qutiloo liyajAAala Allahu thalika hasratan fee quloobihim waAllahu yuhyee wayumeetu waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

These two types of people have, in the sight of Allah, ranks of far different grades, for Allah is watching what they are doing.

Translit: Hum darajatun AAinda Allahi waAllahu baseerun bima yaAAmaloona

Translation:

And how is it that, when a disaster befell you, you exclaimed, "Whence is this? You yourselves had (in the battle of Badr) inflicted twice as great a disaster (on your enemy). O Prophet, say to them, "You yourselves have brought about this disaster upon yourselves." Allah has, indeed, power over everything.

Translit: Awalamma asabatkum museebatun qad asabtum mithlayha qultum anna hatha qul huwa min AAindi anfusikum inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Do not regard as dead those who have been slain in the way of Allah; nay, they are really alive and are well provided for by their Lord.

Translit: Wala tahsabanna allatheena qutiloo fee sabeeli Allahi amwatan bal ahyaon AAinda rabbihim yurzaqoona

Translation:

Their Lord answered their prayer, saying, "I do not let go to waste the labour of any worker from among you whether male or female, for all of you (human beings) are the offspring of one another. I will, therefore, forgive all the shortcomings of those who left their homes or were expelled from them for My sake or were persecuted, and of those who fought for My cause and were slain, and admit them to the Gardens underneath which canals flow." This is their reward from Allah and with Allah alone is the richest reward.

Translit: Faistajaba lahum rabbuhum annee la odeeAAu AAamala AAamilin minkum min thakarin aw ontha baAAdukum min baAAdin faallatheena hajaroo waokhrijoo min diyarihim waoothoo fee sabeelee waqataloo waqutiloo laokaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walaodkhilannahum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu thawaban min AAindi Allahi waAllahu AAindahu husnu alththawabi

Translation:

On the other hand, pious people, who fear Allah, will be given Gardens underneath which canals flow: therein they will live for ever. This is their hospitality from Allah, and that, which is with Allah is the best for the righteous people.

Translit: Lakini allatheena ittaqaw rabbahum lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha nuzulan min AAindi Allahi wama AAinda Allahi khayrun lilabrari

Translation:

And there are some even among the people of the Book, who believe in Allah and in the Book which has been sent down to you and in the Scripture which was sent down to themselves before this; they humble themselves before Allah and do not barter away Allahs Revelation for paltry worldly gains; they will have their reward from their Lord; for Allah is very swift in settling accounts.

Translit: Wainna min ahli alkitabi laman yuminu biAllahi wama onzila ilaykum wama onzila ilayhim khashiAAeena lillahi la yashtaroona biayati Allahi thamanan qaleelan olaika lahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim inna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

Translation:

These are the limits prescribed by Allah: whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will admit him into the Gardens underneath which canals flow, wherein he will abide for ever; this is the great success.

Translit: Tilka hudoodu Allahi waman yutiAAi Allaha warasoolahu yudkhilhu jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha wathalika alfawzu alAAatheemu

Men are the managers of the affairs of women because Allah has made the one superior to the others and because men spend of their wealth on women. Virtuous women are, therefore, obedient; they guard their rights carefully in their absences58 under the care and watch of Allah. As for those women whose defiance you have cause to fear, admonish them and keep them apart from your beds and beat them. Then, if they submit to you, do not look for excuses to punish them: note it well that there is Allah above you, Who is Supreme and Great.

Translit: Alrrijalu qawwamoona AAala alnnisai bima faddala Allahu baAAdahum AAala baAAdin wabima anfaqoo min amwalihim faalssalihatu qanitatun hafithatun lilghaybi bima hafitha Allahu waallatee takhafoona nushoozahunna faAAithoohunna waohjuroohunna fee almadajiAAi waidriboohunna fain ataAAnakum fala tabghoo AAalayhinna sabeelan inna Allaha kana AAaliyyan kabeeran

Translation:

Indeed Allah does not wrong anyone even by a jot: if one does a good deed, He doubles it, and then from Himself bestows a rich reward.

Translit: Inna Allaha la yathlimu mithqala tharratin wain taku hasanatan yudaAAifha wayuti min ladunhu ajran AAatheeman

Translation:

Some of those, who have become Jews, pervert words out of their context and twist their tongues in order to malign the true Faith and say "sami ina wa asaina " and "Isma ghaira musma in and Ra ina. But, if they had said instead, "sami ina wa ata "ana, " "Isma " and " Unzurna," it would have been better for themselves and a more upright way. As Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, they are little disposed to believe.

Translit: Mina allatheena hadoo yuharrifoona alkalima AAan mawadiAAihi wayaqooloona samiAAna waAAasayna waismaAA ghayra musmaAAin waraAAina layyan bialsinatihim wataAAnan fee alddeeni walaw annahum qaloo samiAAna waataAAna waismaAA waonthurna lakana khayran lahum waaqwama walakin laAAanahumu Allahu bikufrihim fala yuminoona illa qaleelan

Translation:

(O Muslims), Allah enjoins you to give the trusts into the care of those persons who are worthy of trust and to judge with justice, when you judge between the people. Excellent is the counsel that Allah gives you, for Allah hears everything and sees everything.

Translit: Inna Allaha yamurukum an tuaddoo alamanati ila ahliha waitha hakamtum bayna alnnasi an tahkumoo bialAAadli inna Allaha niAAimma yaAAithukum bihi inna Allaha kana sameeAAan baseeran

Translation:

Allah knows what really is in their hearts: therefore show forbearance towards them and admonish them and give them a piece of advice that may go deep into their hearts. (Tell them)

Translit: Olaika allatheena yaAAlamu Allahu ma fee quloobihim faaAArid AAanhum waAAithhum waqul lahum fee anfusihim qawlan baleeghan

Translation:

And who-so-ever obeys Allah and the Messenger, shall be with those whom Allah has blessed-the Prophets, the truthful and the martyrs and the righteous: what excellent companions these are that one may get!

Translation:

As to death, it will overtake you wherever you may be, even though you be in fortified towers" If they have good fortune, they say, "This is from Allah," and if they suffer a loss, they say, "This is because of you." Say, "Everything is from Allah." What then has gone wrong with these people that they do not understand anything?

Translit: Aynama takoonoo yudrikkumu almawtu walaw kuntum fee buroojin mushayyadatin wain tusibhum hasanatun yaqooloo hathihi min AAindi Allahi wain tusibhum sayyiatun yaqooloo hathihi min AAindika qul kullun min AAindi Allahi famali haolai alqawmi la yakadoona yafqahoona hadeethan

Translation:

Whoever obeys the Messenger, in fact, obeys Allah and whoever turns away from him (is accountable for his deeds); anyhow We have not sent you to be keeper over them.

Translit: Man yutiAAi alrrasoola faqad ataAAa Allaha waman tawalla fama arsalnaka AAalayhim hafeethan

Translation:

In your presence, they say, "We are obedient to you," but when they leave you, some of them meet together secretly at night to plot against what you say; Allah writes down all their secret talks; so leave them alone and trust in Allah; Allah alone suffices for trust.

Translit: Wayaqooloona taAAatun faitha barazoo min AAindika bayyata taifatun minhum ghayra allathee taqoolu waAllahu yaktubu ma yubayyitoona faaAArid AAanhum watawakkal AAala Allahi wakafa biAllahi wakeelan

Do they not ponder over the Quran? Had it been from any other than Allah, surely there would have been many contradictions in it.

Translit: Afala yatadabbaroona alqurana walaw kana min AAindi ghayri Allahi lawajadoo feehi ikhtilafan katheeran

Translation:

O Believers, when you go to Jihad in the way of Allah, discern between friend and foe; and if one greets you with a salutation of peace, do not say to him abruptly, "You are not a believer." If you seek worldly gain by this, Allah has abundant spoils for you. (Remember that) you yourselves were before this in the same condition; then Allah showed His grace on you; therefore you should discern well, for Allah is fully aware of what you do.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha darabtum fee sabeeli Allahi fatabayyanoo wala taqooloo liman alqa ilaykumu alssalama lasta muminan tabtaghoona AAarada alhayati alddunya faAAinda Allahi maghanimu katheeratun kathalika kuntum min qablu famanna Allahu AAalaykum fatabayyanoo inna Allaha kana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran

Translation:

Those people from among the Muslims who stay at home without any genuine excuse are not equal in rank with those who exert their utmost with their lives and wealth for the cause of Allah. For Allah has assigned a higher rank to those who exert their utmost with their lives and wealth than those who stay at home. Though Allah has promised a good reward for all, he has a far richer reward for those who fight for Him than for those who stay at home:

Translit: La yastawee alqaAAidoona mina almumineena ghayru olee alddarari waalmujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi biamwalihim waanfusihim faddala Allahu almujahideena biamwalihim waanfusihim AAala alqaAAideena darajatan wakullan waAAada Allahu alhusna wafaddala Allahu almujahideena AAala alqaAAideena ajran AAatheeman

on whom Allah has laid His curse; (they obey that Satan) who said to Allah, "I will most surely take due share from your servants and will mislead them;

Though he makes (false) promises with people and entices them by vain hopes all his promises are nothing but deception.

Whoso desires the reward of this world should know that Allah possesses the rewards of both this world and the Hereafter: He hears everything and sees everything.

Translation:

who make the disbelievers their friends instead of the Believers. Do they go to the disbelievers to seek honor? Whereas, in fact, all honor belongs to Allah alone.

Translit: Allatheena yattakhithoona alkafireena awliyaa min dooni almumineena ayabtaghoona AAindahumu alAAizzata fainna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan

If the people of the Book are today asking you to cause a Book to come down upon them from heaven, they have already made even more monstrous demands from Moses. They said to him, "Make us see Allah with our own eyes." As a result of their wickedness, a thunder-bolt smote them all of a sudden. Then they took the calf as the object of their worship, after they had seen clear signs: but even after this, We forgave them. We bestowed upon Moses a clear Commandment

Translit: Yasaluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzila AAalayhim kitaban mina alssamai faqad saaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arina Allaha jahratan faakhathathumu alssaAAiqatu bithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla min baAAdi ma jaathumu albayyinatu faAAafawna AAan thalika waatayna moosa sultanan mubeenan

Translation:

they themselves bragged, "We have slain Jesus, son of Mary, a Messenger of Allah." Whereas in fact, they did not slay him nor did they crucify him but the matter was made dubious for them. And those who have differed about this matter are also in doubt concerning it. They have no knowledge of it but they follow mere conjectures, for it is certain that they did not kill Jesus.

Translit: Waqawlihim inna qatalna almaseeha AAeesa ibna maryama rasoola Allahi wama qataloohu wama salaboohu walakin shubbiha lahum wainna allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi lafee shakkin minhu ma lahum bihi min AAilmin illa ittibaAAa alththanni wama qataloohu yaqeenan

Translation:

but most surely We will reward richly all those among them who have profound learning and who are honest and who believe in what has been sent down to you, and what was sent down before you,203 and who establish the Salat, pay the Zakat dues and believe sincerely in Allah and the Last Day.

Translit: Lakini alrrasikhoona fee alAAilmi minhum waalmuminoona yuminoona bima onzila ilayka wama onzila min qablika waalmuqeemeena alssalata waalmutoona alzzakata waalmuminoona biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri olaika sanuteehim ajran AAatheeman

(People may or may not believe it) but Allah bears witness that what He has sent down to you, He has sent that down with His knowledge and the angels also bear witness to it, though Allahs being a witness alone suffices.

Translit: Lakini Allahu yashhadu bima anzala ilayka anzalahu biAAilmihi waalmalaikatu yashhadoona wakafa biAllahi shaheedan

Translation:

The Messiah never disdained to be a servant of Allah nor do the angels who are nearest to Him disdain it. Whoever disdains the service of Allah and prides himself on it, (should know that) He will muster all of them before Him.

Translit: Lan yastankifa almaseehu an yakoona AAabdan lillahi wala almalaikatu almuqarraboona waman yastankif AAan AAibadatihi wayastakbir fasayahshuruhum ilayhi jameeAAan

Translation:

O Believers, do not violate the emblems of God-worship. Do not make lawful for yourselves any of the forbidden months nor catch hold of the animals dedicated to sacrifice nor lay hands on those animals which are collared as a mark of their dedication to God, nor molest the people repairing to the Inviolable Mosque (the Ka`abah), seeking their Lords bounty and pleasure. You are, however, allowed to hunt after you have put off ihram. -And be on your guard : let not your resentment against those, who have barred you from visiting the Ka`abah, incite you so much as to transgress the prescribed limits. Nay, cooperate with all in what is good and pious but do not cooperate in what is sinful and wicked. Fear Allah: for Allah is severe in retribution.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tuhilloo shaAAaira Allahi wala alshshahra alharama wala alhadya wala alqalaida wala ammeena albayta alharama yabtaghoona fadlan min rabbihim waridwanan waitha halaltum faistadoo wala yajrimannakum shanaanu qawmin an saddookum AAani almasjidi alharami an taAAtadoo wataAAawanoo AAala albirri waalttaqwa wala taAAawanoo AAala alithmi waalAAudwani waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

Then they broke their covenant and because of this We deprived them of Our mercy and hardened their hearts. Now they have become so degenerate that they distort the words of the Scriptures so as to change their meanings completely: moreover, they have forgotten the major portion of the teachings given to them and every now and then you find out one act or the other of their dishonesty. There are only a few of them who are free from this vice: (so whatever mischief they do is to be expected of them). Yet pardon them and connive at what they are doing: Allah likes those who show generosity in their dealings.

Translit: Fabima naqdihim meethaqahum laAAannahum wajaAAalna quloobahum qasiyatan yuharrifoona alkalima AAan mawadiAAihi wanasoo haththan mimma thukkiroo bihi wala tazalu tattaliAAu AAala khainatin minhum illa qaleelan minhum faoAAfu AAanhum waisfah inna Allaha yuhibbu almuhsineena

Translation:

But even then they replied, "O Moses, we are never going to enter it so long as they remain therein. Therefore, go, both you and your Lord, and fight: we will stay here,"

Translit: Qaloo ya moosa inna lan nadkhulaha abadan ma damoo feeha faithhab anta warabbuka faqatila inna hahuna qaAAidoona

Translation:

O Messenger, let not those who are striving hard in the way of disbelief, grieve you, whether they be from among those who say with their mouths, "We believe," but their hearts do not believe, or from among those who have become Jews; for the latter eagerly listen to lies. They spy for other people who have never had any chance of coming to you: they twist the words of Allahs Book out of their context in order to distort their proper meaning: they say to the people, "If you are enjoined to observe such and such teaching, accept it; if it is other than this, reject it." You can do nothing to save from Allahs punishment a man whom Allah wills to put to trial. They are those, whose hearts Allah does not will to purify; there is ignominy for them in this world and a grievous punishment in the Hereafter.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alrrasoolu la yahzunka allatheena yusariAAoona fee alkufri mina allatheena qaloo amanna biafwahihim walam tumin quloobuhum wamina allatheena hadoo sammaAAoona lilkathibi sammaAAoona liqawmin akhareena lam yatooka yuharrifoona alkalima min baAAdi mawadiAAihi yaqooloona in ooteetum hatha fakhuthoohu wain lam tutawhu faihtharoo waman yuridi Allahu fitnatahu falan tamlika lahu mina Allahi shayan olaika allatheena lam yuridi Allahu an yutahhira quloobahum lahum fee alddunya khizyun walahum

Translation:

Yet, how is it that they make you their judge, when they themselves possess the Torah, in which there is Allahs judgment, and even then they are turning away from it? In fact, these people have no faith.

Translit: Wakayfa yuhakkimoonaka waAAindahumu alttawratu feeha hukmu Allahi thumma yatawallawna min baAAdi thalika wama olaika bialmumineena

Translation:

Then after those Prophets, We sent Jesus, son of Mary; he confirmed whatever had still remained intact of the Torah in his time. And We gave him the Gospel wherein was Guidance and Light; that too, confirmed what was intact of the Torah at the time; moreover, it was guidance and admonition for the God-fearing people.

Translit: Waqaffayna AAala atharihim biAAeesa ibni maryama musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina alttawrati waataynahu alinjeela feehi hudan wanoorun wamusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina alttawrati wahudan wamawAAithatan lilmuttaqeena

Translation:

You see that those, who have the disease of hypocrisy in their hearts, are always moving among them. They say, "We fear lest we should get involved in some disaster." But it may be that these people will feel ashamed of the hypocrisy they are hiding in their hearts; when Allah will give you a decisive victory or show something else from Himself.

Translit: Fatara allatheena fee quloobihim maradun yusariAAoona feehim yaqooloona nakhsha an tuseebana dairatun faAAasa Allahu an yatiya bialfathi aw amrin min AAindihi fayusbihoo AAala ma asarroo fee anfusihim nadimeena

Translation:

O Believers, whoever turns away from Islam, (let him); Allah will raise many such people whom He will love and who will love Him; who will be lenient towards the Believers but stern towards the disbelievers; who will exert their utmost in the way of Allah and will not fear the censure of anyone who censures them. This is Allahs bounty: He bestows it on whomever He wills, for Allahs resources are boundless and He is All-Knowing.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo man yartadda minkum AAan deenihi fasawfa yatee Allahu biqawmin yuhibbuhum wayuhibboonahu athillatin AAala almumineena aAAizzatin AAala alkafireena yujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi wala yakhafoona lawmata laimin thalika fadlu Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

O Believers, do not take your friends from among the people, who were given the Book before you and such as make a jest and pastime of your Faith; and (likewise ,do not take for your friends) the other disbelievers; fear Allah, if you are true Believers.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo allatheena ittakhathoo deenakum huzuwan walaAAiban mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum waalkuffara awliyaa waittaqoo Allaha in kuntum mumineena

When you make a call for the Prayer, they make it an object of jest and sport; this is because they are devoid of understanding.

Translit: Waitha nadaytum ila alssalati ittakhathooha huzuwan walaAAiban thalika biannahum qawmun la yaAAqiloona

Translation:

Then say, "Should I inform you of those, who will have even worse recompense from Allah than the transgressors?" They are those whom Allah has cursed; who have been under His wrath; some of whom were turned into apes and swine; who worshiped taghut; those are the people who are in a far worse plight and who have turned farthest away from the Right Way."

Translit: Qul hal onabbiokum bisharrin min thalika mathoobatan AAinda Allahi man laAAanahu Allahu waghadiba AAalayhi wajaAAala minhumu alqiradata waalkhanazeera waAAabada alttaghooti olaika sharrun makanan waadallu AAan sawai alssabeeli

Translation:

The Jews say that the hands of Allah are chained Nay chained indeed are their own hands and accursed they have become because of the blasphemy they utter Allahs hands are free and He expends in whatever way He wills. The fact is that the Message which has been sent down to you from your Lord has rather increased the rebellion and disbelief of many of them: (as a consequence of this) We have cast between them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it; now they are striving to spread mischief in the world but Allah does not like the mischief makers.

Translit: Waqalati alyahoodu yadu Allahi maghloolatun ghullat aydeehim waluAAinoo bima qaloo bal yadahu mabsootatani yunfiqu kayfa yashao walayazeedanna katheeran minhum ma onzila ilayka min rabbika tughyanan wakufran waalqayna baynahumu alAAadawata waalbaghdaa ila yawmi alqiyamati kullama awqadoo naran lilharbi atfaaha Allahu wayasAAawna fee alardi fasadan waAllahu la yuhibbu almufsideena

Translation:

Those who adopted the way of disbelief from among the children of Israel were cursed by the tongue of David and of Jesus. Marys son, because they had grown rebellious and become transgressors:

Translit: LuAAina allatheena kafaroo min banee israeela AAala lisani dawooda waAAeesa ibni maryama thalika bima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona

Translation:

When they listen to that which has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflow with tears because of the Truth they recognize therein. They spontaneously say, "Our Lord, we have believed; therefore, write down our names with those who bear witness to it."

Translit: Waitha samiAAoo ma onzila ila alrrasooli tara aAAyunahum tafeedu mina alddamAAi mimma AAarafoo mina alhaqqi yaqooloona rabbana amanna faoktubna maAAa alshshahideena

Translation:

Allah does not take you to task for the inadvertent oaths you swear, but He will surely call you to account for the intentional and deliberate oaths you make. The expiation (of breaking such an oath) is to feed ten indigent persons with the normal food you serve in your own family, or to give them clothes, or to free one slave, and the one who cannot afford any of these let him fast three days. This is the expiation of breaking the solemn oaths you have taken; be mindful of your oaths. Thus Allah makes His Commandments plain to you so that you may show gratitude.

Translit: La yuakhithukumu Allahu biallaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yuakhithukum bima AAaqqadtumu alaymana fakaffaratuhu itAAamu AAasharati masakeena min awsati ma tutAAimoona ahleekum aw kiswatuhum aw tahreeru raqabatin faman lam yajid fasiyamu thalathati ayyamin thalika kaffaratu aymanikum itha halaftum waihfathoo aymanakum kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

Those, who have believed and done good deeds, shall not be called to account for whatever they might have eaten in the past, provided that they abstain in future from those things that have been made unlawful, and remain steadfast in their Faith, and do good works: then restrain themselves from whatever they are forbidden and believe in the Divine Law: then fear Allah and adopt the righteous attitude, for Allah likes those who do righteous deeds.

Translit: Laysa AAala allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati junahun feema taAAimoo itha ma ittaqaw waamanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati thumma ittaqaw waamanoo thumma ittaqaw waahsanoo waAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena

Note it well that Allah is very severe in punishing. and at the same time He is very Forbearing and Merciful.

Translit: IAAlamoo anna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi waanna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

On the Day,-- when Allah will assemble all the Messengers, He will ask, "What was the response you received?" They will answer, "We have no knowledge: You alone have the full knowledge of all that is hidden."

Translit: Yawma yajmaAAu Allahu alrrusula fayaqoolu matha ojibtum qaloo la AAilma lana innaka anta AAallamu alghuyoobi

Translation:

Now, if You punish them, they are your own servants, and if You forgive them, You are All-powerful and All Wise."

Translit: In tuAAaththibhum fainnahum AAibaduka wain taghfir lahum fainnaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeemu

It is He Who has created you from earth and decreed a fixed term of life for you, and with Him there is another settled term also yet you have doubts thereof.

Translit: Huwa allathee khalaqakum min teenin thumma qada ajalan waajalun musamman AAindahu thumma antum tamtaroona

Translation:

Say, "Should I take as my guardian any other than Allah? Should I forsake that Allah Who is the Creator of the earth and the heavens and Who nourishes all and does not stand in need of nourishment from anyone?" Say, "I have been enjoined to be the first of those who surrender to Him, (and I have been urged) not to be of those who commit shirk"

Translit: Qul aghayra Allahi attakhithu waliyyan fatiri alssamawati waalardi wahuwa yutAAimu wala yutAAamu qul innee omirtu an akoona awwala man aslama wala takoonanna mina almushrikeena

He has supreme authority over His servants and He is All-Wise, All-Aware.

Translit: Wahuwa alqahiru fawqa AAibadihi wahuwa alhakeemu alkhabeeru

Translation:

This worldly life is but a sport and pastime. In fact, the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who desire to be safe from harm. Will you not, then, use your commonsense?

Translit: Wama alhayatu alddunya illa laAAibun walahwun walalddaru alakhirati khayrun lillatheena yattaqoona afala taAAqiloona

Translation:

Tell them, O Muhammad, "I do not claim that I possess the treasures of Allah nor that I know the "unseen", nor do I claim that I am an angel. I only follow the Revelation that is sent down to me." Then ask them, "Can the blind man and the seeing man be alike? Do you not consider this thing?"

Translit: Qul la aqoolu lakum AAindee khazainu Allahi wala aAAlamu alghayba wala aqoolu lakum innee malakun in attabiAAu illa ma yooha ilayya qul hal yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru afala tatafakkaroona

Translation:

Say, "I take my stand on a clear proof from my Lord, and you have rejected it. Now, that which you demand to be hastened is not in my power, for Allah alone has the sole authority of passing judgment: He declares the Truth and He is the best of arbiters" .

Translit: Qul innee AAala bayyinatin min rabbee wakaththabtum bihi ma AAindee ma tastaAAjiloona bihi ini alhukmu illa lillahi yaqussu alhaqqa wahuwa khayru alfasileena

Say, "Had I the power to hasten that which you are demanding, the dispute between you and me would have been settled long before this, but Allah knows best how to deal with evil-doers.

Translit: Qul law anna AAindee ma tastaAAjiloona bihi laqudiya alamru baynee wabaynakum waAllahu aAAlamu bialththalimeena

Translation:

He alone has the keys of the "unseen", of which none has the knowledge but He. He knows all that is in the land and in the sea; there is not a leaf that falls from a tree but He knows about it; there is not a grain in the darkest bowels of the earth of which He is not aware; everything fresh and dry has been recorded in an open Book.

Translit: WaAAindahu mafatihu alghaybi la yaAAlamuha illa huwa wayaAAlamu ma fee albarri waalbahri wama tasqutu min waraqatin illa yaAAlamuha wala habbatin fee thulumati alardi wala ratbin wala yabisin illa fee kitabin mubeenin

Translation:

He reigns supreme over His servants and appoints those, who keep watch over you till the time the death of anyone of you approaches; then the angels sent by Him take away his soul and do not show the least negligence in the performance of their duty.

Translit: Wahuwa alqahiru fawqa AAibadihi wayursilu AAalaykum hafathatan hatta itha jaa ahadakumu almawtu tawaffathu rusuluna wahum la yufarritoona

Translation:

And leave alone those who have taken their faith as a sport and pastime and have been deluded by the life of this world; nevertheless, go on admonishing them by reciting the Quran to them lest any person should be seized because of his own deeds, and that too at the time, when there would be no protector, no helper and no intercessor to rescue him from Allah, and when no conceivable amount of ransom would be accepted from him; this is because such people shall be seized in consequence of what they themselves had earned; they shall get boiling water to drink and a painful torment to suffer for their rejection of the Truth.

Translit: Wathari allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum laAAiban walahwan wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya wathakkir bihi an tubsala nafsun bima kasabat laysa laha min dooni Allahi waliyyun wala shafeeAAun wain taAAdil kulla AAadlin la yukhath minha olaika allatheena obsiloo bima kasaboo lahum sharabun min hameemin waAAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakfuroona

Translation:

And when his people began to argue with him, he said to them, "Do you argue with me in regard to Allah, whereas He has shown Guidance to me? And I do not fear those whom you have taken for gods: except that it be my Lords will, for if my Lord wills anything it must happen. The knowledge of my Lord embraces everything. Will you not, then, remember this and come to your senses?

Translit: Wahajjahu qawmuhu qala atuhajjoonnee fee Allahi waqad hadani wala akhafu ma tushrikoona bihi illa an yashaa rabbee shayan wasiAAa rabbee kulla shayin AAilman afala tatathakkaroona

Translation:

This is Allahs Guidance by which He guides anyone of His servants He pleases: but if any of His people had ever practiced shirk, all the good deeds they had done would have been rendered vain.

Translit: Thalika huda Allahi yahdee bihi man yashao min AAibadihi walaw ashrakoo lahabita AAanhum ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

Translation:

And it is He Who sent down rain-water from the sky and thereby caused every kind of vegetation to grow, and then with it produced green fields and trees and from them brought forth close growing grain and from the blossoms of palm-trees brought forth laden sheaths of clustering dates and vineyards and olive groves and gardens of pomegranates : though their fruits resemble each other yet each has its distinctive quality. Behold how they bring forth fruit and how their fruits ripen. for there are indeed Signs in these things for those who believe.

Translit: Wahuwa allathee anzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi nabata kulli shayin faakhrajna minhu khadiran nukhriju minhu habban mutarakiban wamina alnnakhli min talAAiha qinwanun daniyatun wajannatin min aAAnabin waalzzaytoona waalrrummana mushtabihan waghayra mutashabihin onthuroo ila thamarihi itha athmara wayanAAihi inna fee thalikum laayatin liqawmin yuminoona

Translation:

Yet they set up the Jinn as partners with Allah, whereas He is their Creator; they have also invented for Him sons and daughters without having any knowledge whereas He is absolutely free from and exalted far above the things they say.

Translit: WajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa aljinna wakhalaqahum wakharaqoo lahu baneena wabanatin bighayri AAilmin subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yasifoona

Translation:

And (O Believers), do not revile those whom they invoke besides Allah lest they should, in their ignorance, revile Allah (besides committing shirk). We have thus made the deeds of every people seem fair to them. Ultimately, they shall have to return to their Lord; then He will let them know what they have been doing.

Translit: Wala tasubboo allatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi fayasubboo Allaha AAadwan bighayri AAilmin kathalika zayyanna likulli ommatin AAamalahum thumma ila rabbihim marjiAAuhum fayunabbiohum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona

Translation:

They declare with solemn oaths by Allah that if a Sign (i.e. a miracle) comes before them, they will believe in it (your Prophethood). O Muhammad, tell them, "Allah alone can show Signs." And what will make you (O Muhammad) realize that, even if the Signs come, they would not believe?

Translit: Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim lain jaathum ayatun layuminunna biha qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wama yushAAirukum annaha itha jaat la yuminoona

Translation:

And why should you not eat that thing over which Allahs name has been mentioned when He has already given you explicit knowledge of those things which He has forbidden for you, except in a case of extreme helplessness? as As regards the majority of the people, they, following their caprices, say misleading things without any knowledge. Your Lord best knows these transgressors.

Translit: Wama lakum alla takuloo mimma thukira ismu Allahi AAalayhi waqad fassala lakum ma harrama AAalaykum illa ma idturirtum ilayhi wainna katheeran layudilloona biahwaihim bighayri AAilmin inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu bialmuAAtadeena

Translation:

When a Revelation comes before them, they say, "We will not believe in it unless we are given the like of what has been given to the Messengers of Allah." Allah knows best whom to entrust with His Mission and how to get it conducted. - Near is the time when these criminals shall meet with disgrace and a grievous torment from Allah for the evil schemes they were devising.

Translit: Waitha jaathum ayatun qaloo lan numina hatta nuta mithla ma ootiya rusulu Allahi Allahu aAAlamu haythu yajAAalu risalatahu sayuseebu allatheena ajramoo sagharun AAinda Allahi waAAathabun shadeedun bima kanoo yamkuroona

Translation:

There is an abode of peace for them with their Lord, and He is their Protector because of the good works they are doing.

Translit: Lahum daru alssalami AAinda rabbihim wahuwa waliyyuhum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona

Translation:

Most surely they became losers, who, in their folly and ignorance killed their own children, and made unlawful what Allah had provided them as sustenance falsely ascribing prohibitions to Allah. Surely they went astray and were not at all rightly guided.

Translit: Qad khasira allatheena qataloo awladahum safahan bighayri AAilmin waharramoo ma razaqahumu Allahu iftiraan AAala Allahi qad dalloo wama kanoo muhtadeena

Translation:

Here are eight kinds of cattle - males and females. Take first a pair of the sheep family and a pair of the goat family, and O Muhammad, ask them, "Has He of these forbidden you (to partake of) the males or the females or the young ones that are in the wombs of the sheep and the goats? Tell me with knowledge, if you are men of truth.

Translit: Thamaniyata azwajin mina alddani ithnayni wamina almaAAzi ithnayni qul alththakarayni harrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamu alonthayayni nabbioonee biAAilmin in kuntum sadiqeena

Translation:

Likewise, take a pair of the camel family and a pair of the cow family, and ask them, "Has He of these forbidden the males or the females or the young ones that are in the wombs of the she-camel and the cow?" Were you present at the time when Allah prescribed these prohibitory laws? (If not), who can then be more wicked than the one, who invents a falsehood and ascribes it to Allah so that he should, without knowledge, mislead the people? Indeed, Allah does not show guidance to such transgressors.

Translit: Wamina alibili ithnayni wamina albaqari ithnayni qul alththakarayni harrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamu alonthayayni am kuntum shuhadaa ith wassakumu Allahu bihatha faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban liyudilla alnnasa bighayri AAilmin inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translit: Qul la ajidu fee ma oohiya ilayya muharraman AAala taAAimin yatAAamuhu illa an yakoona maytatan aw daman masfoohan aw lahma khinzeerin fainnahu rijsun aw fisqan ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna rabbaka ghafoorun raheemun

Translit: Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma ashrakna wala abaona wala harramna min shayin kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim hatta thaqoo basana qul hal AAindakum min AAilmin fatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththanna wain antum illa takhrusoona

Translation:

It is He, Who has made you the vicegerents on the earth, and raised some of you above others in ranks so that He may test you in what He has given you. Indeed your Lord is swift in inflicting punishment: yet He is also very Forgiving and Merciful."

Translit: Wahuwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa alardi warafaAAa baAAdakum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyabluwakum fee ma atakum inna rabbaka sareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun

Then We Ourself will recount to them with Knowledge (all their doings); for We were not absent from them.

Translit: Falanaqussanna AAalayhim biAAilmin wama kunna ghaibeena

Translation:

O Muhammad, say to them, "My Lord has enjoined justice and righteousness; (He has also enjoined that) you should keep aright your direction during every act of worship and invoke Him alone, dedicating your faith sincerely and exclusively to Him; you shall be created again just as He has created you now.

Translit: Qul amara rabbee bialqisti waaqeemoo wujoohakum AAinda kulli masjidin waodAAoohu mukhliseena lahu alddeena kama badaakum taAAoodoona

Translation:

O children of Adam, dress yourselves fully, properly and decently at the time of every worship; eat and drink, but do not transgress, for Allah does not like the transgressors.

Translit: Ya banee adama khuthoo zeenatakum AAinda kulli masjidin wakuloo waishraboo wala tusrifoo innahu la yuhibbu almusrifeena

Translation:

O Muhammad, ask them, "Who has forbidden the decent garments that Allah brought forth for His "servants and (Who has forbidden) the good and pure things of life bestowed by Him?" Say, "All these things are for the Believers in this world but on the Day of Resurrection, these shall be exclusively for them." Thus We make quite plain Our Revelations to those who possess knowledge.

Translit: Qul man harrama zeenata Allahi allatee akhraja liAAibadihi waalttayyibati mina alrrizqi qul hiya lillatheena amanoo fee alhayati alddunya khalisatan yawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona

Translation:

who debarred others from the Way of Allah and sought to make it crooked, and did not believe in the Hereafter."

Translit: Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bialakhirati kafiroona

Translation:

who had made their religion a pastime, sport and enjoyment, and who had been deluded by the worldly life. Allah says. `Today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day and rejected Our Revelations."

Translit: Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo biayatina yajhadoona

Translation:

We have brought to these people a Book which gives details based on knowledge36 and which is a guidance and blessing for those who believe.

Translit: Walaqad jinahum bikitabin fassalnahu AAala AAilmin hudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona

Translation:

They replied, "Have you come to us (with the demand) that we should worship Allah alone and discard those whom our forefathers have been worshiping? Well, bring on us the scourge with which you have been threatening us, if you are truthful."

Translit: Qaloo ajitana linaAAbuda Allaha wahdahu wanathara ma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena

Translation:

The chiefs of his tribe, who were full of pride, said to those who had believed from among the oppressed people, "Do you know it for certain that Salih is a Messenger from his Lord?" They replied, "Indeed we believe in the Message with which he has been sent."

Translit: Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lillatheena istudAAifoo liman amana minhum ataAAlamoona anna salihan mursalun min rabbihi qaloo inna bima orsila bihi muminoona

Translation:

Then they killed the she-camel,61 and very insolently defied their Lords command, and challenged Salih, "Bring that scourge with which you threaten us, if you really are one of the Messengers."

Translit: FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAataw AAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihu itina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina almursaleena

Translation:

And do not lie in ambush by every path (of life) as robbers, in order to frighten the people nor debar from Allahs Way those who believe in it, nor seek to snake the Right Way crooked. Remember the time, when you were a few in number: then Allah multiplied you: and behold with open eyes what happened to the spreaders of corruption!

Translit: Wala taqAAudoo bikulli siratin tooAAidoona watasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana bihi watabghoonaha AAiwajan waothkuroo ith kuntum qaleelan fakaththarakum waonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena

Translation:

We shall be guilty of attributing a lie to Allah, if we return to your creed, after Allah has delivered us from it; nor can we now return to your creed, except that Allah, our Lord, wills it;73 the knowledge of our Lord embraces everything; in Allah we put our trust, Our Lord, judge with truth between us and our people, and Thou art the best of judges."

Translit: Qadi iftarayna AAala Allahi kathiban in AAudna fee millatikum baAAda ith najjana Allahu minha wama yakoonu lana an naAAooda feeha illa an yashaa Allahu rabbuna wasiAAa rabbuna kulla shayin AAilman AAala Allahi tawakkalna rabbana iftah baynana wabayna qawmina bialhaqqi waanta khayru alfatiheena

Translation:

It behooves me to say in the name of Allah nothing but the truth. I have come to you from your Lord with clear Signs of my appointment: so send the children of Israel with me."

Translit: Haqeequn AAala an la aqoola AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa qad jitukum bibayyinatin min rabbikum faarsil maAAiya banee israeela

Translation:

Moses said to his people, "Invoke Allahs help, and show fortitude. The land belongs to Allah. He gives it as a heritage to those of His servants whom He pleases: and the final success is for those who fear Him in all their doings."

Translit: Qala moosa liqawmihi istaAAeenoo biAllahi waisbiroo inna alarda lillahi yoorithuha man yashao min AAibadihi waalAAaqibatu lilmuttaqeena

Translation:

But they responded like this: whenever a good time came; they would say, "This is but our due" and when there was a hard time, they would ascribe their calamities to Moses and those with him. Whereas, in fact, their misfortune was in the hand of Allah; but most of them did not know this.

Translit: Faitha jaathumu alhasanatu qaloo lana hathihi wain tusibhum sayyiatun yattayyaroo bimoosa waman maAAahu ala innama tairuhum AAinda Allahi walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

Translation:

Whenever a plague befell them, they would say, "O Moses! Pray for us to Allah in the name of the office you hold from Him. If you help remove the plague from us this time, we will believe in you, and send the Israelites with you."

Translit: Walamma waqaAAa AAalayhimu alrrijzu qaloo ya moosa odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka lain kashafta AAanna alrrijza lanuminanna laka walanursilanna maAAaka banee israeela

Translation:

When Moses arrived there at the appointed time and his Lord spoke with him, he beseeched, "Lord, give me power of sight so that I may look upon Thee. " He answered, "You cannot see Me. Well, you may just look towards the yonder Mountain; if it remains firm in its place, then you shall behold Me." Accordingly, when his Lord manifested His glory on the Mountain; that turned it into fine dust, and Moses fell in a swoon. when he came to himself, he said, "Glory be to thee! I repent before Thee, and I am the first of those who believe."

Translit: Walamma jaa moosa limeeqatina wakallamahu rabbuhu qala rabbi arinee anthur ilayka qala lan taranee walakini onthur ila aljabali faini istaqarra makanahu fasawfa taranee falamma tajalla rabbuhu liljabali jaAAalahu dakkan wakharra moosa saAAiqan falamma afaqa qala subhanaka tubtu ilayka waana awwalu almumineena

Translation:

After this, We inscribed upon the tablets101 admonitions concerning every branch of life and clear instructions about all its aspects and gave these to Moses and said to him, "Hold fast to the precepts steadfastly, and enjoin your people to follow them according to their best sense. In the near future, I shall show you the abode of the wicked people.

Translit: Wakatabna lahu fee alalwahi min kulli shayin mawAAithatan watafseelan likulli shayin fakhuthha biquwwatin wamur qawmaka yakhuthoo biahsaniha saoreekum dara alfasiqeena

Translation:

In his absence1 the people of Moses made from their ornaments the image of a calf which made sound like lowing. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them in any matter? Yet they took it for a god, for they were wrong-doers.

Translit: Waittakhatha qawmu moosa min baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun alam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehim sabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena

Translation:

(In response to this Allah said,) "Allahs wrath shall surely overtake those who made the calf a god, and they shall be abased in the life of this world, that is how We punish those who invent falsehood.

Translit: Inna allatheena ittakhathoo alAAijla sayanaluhum ghadabun min rabbihim wathillatun fee alhayati alddunya wakathalika najzee almuftareena

Translation:

(So. now mercy has been assigned to those) who follow this Messenger, the Ummi Prophet whose mention they shall find in the Torah and the Gospel with them. He enjoins them to follow virtue and forbids them from evil: he makes pure things lawful for them and impure things unlawful. He relieves them of their burdens and frees there from the shackles that bound them. For this reason those alone who believe in him and support hire and succor him and follow the light that has been sent down with him, shall attain "success".

Translit: Allatheena yattabiAAoona alrrasoola alnnabiyya alommiyya allathee yajidoonahu maktooban AAindahum fee alttawrati waalinjeeli yamuruhum bialmaAAroofi wayanhahum AAani almunkari wayuhillu lahumu alttayyibati wayuharrimu AAalayhimu alkhabaitha wayadaAAu AAanhum israhum waalaghlala allatee kanat AAalayhim faallatheena amanoo bihi waAAazzaroohu wanasaroohu waittabaAAoo alnnoora allathee onzila maAAahu olaika humu almuflihoona

Translation:

Also remind them that when some people from among them asked the others the answer that was given by some of them, "Why do you admonish those people whom Allah is about to destroy or punish severely?" they replied, "We admonish them in order to be able to offer an excuse before your Lord and we also hope that they might refrain from disobedience to Him."

Translit: Waith qalat ommatun minhum lima taAAithoona qawman Allahu muhlikuhum aw muAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan qaloo maAAthiratan ila rabbikum walaAAallahum yattaqoona

Translation:

And recall the time when your Lord declared, "I will set over the Israelites over and over again up to the Day of Resurrection, people who should inflict upon them the severest torment." Your Lord, indeed, is swift in retribution, and He is indeed also Forgiving and Merciful.

Translit: Waith taaththana rabbuka layabAAathanna AAalayhim ila yawmi alqiyamati man yasoomuhum sooa alAAathabi inna rabbaka lasareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

These people ask you: "Well, when is the Hour of Resurrection coming?" Say, "Its knowledge is with my Lord alone: He Himself will disclose it at the proper time: that Hour will weigh heavily on the heavens and the earth. It will come on you all of a sudden. " They ask you about it as though you have been in search for it. Say; "Its knowledge is with Allah alone, but most of the people do not know this. "

Translit: Yasaloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda rabbee la yujalleeha liwaqtiha illa huwa thaqulat fee alssamawati waalardi la tateekum illa baghtatan yasaloonaka kaannaka hafiyyun AAanha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda Allahi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

Translation:

Those whom you invoke besides Allah are mere servants of Allah like you: just invoke them, and, if what you say of them be true, they will answer your prayers.

Translit: Inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi AAibadun amthalukum faodAAoohum falyastajeeboo lakum in kuntum sadiqeena

Translation:

If Satan ever excites you to anger, seek refuge in Allah: He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Translit: Waimma yanzaghannaka mina alshshaytani nazghun faistaAAith biAllahi innahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

Indeed the angels, who are near to your Lord in rank, do not turn away in pride from His service. They glorify Him. and bow down before Him.

Translit: Inna allatheena AAinda rabbika la yastakbiroona AAan AAibadatihi wayusabbihoonahu walahu yasjudoona

Translation:

Such people are indeed true believers; they have high ranks with their Lord and forgiveness for their sins and most generous provisions.

Translit: Olaika humu almuminoona haqqan lahum darajatun AAinda rabbihim wamaghfiratun warizqun kareemun

Translation:

Remember the occasion when Allah was holding out to you the promise that one of the two hosts would fall to you: you wished the weaker host should fall to you: but Allah willed to prove by His words the Truth to be truth and to cut across the roots of the disbelievers

Translit: Waith yaAAidukumu Allahu ihda alttaifatayni annaha lakum watawaddoona anna ghayra thati alshshawkati takoonu lakum wayureedu Allahu an yuhiqqa alhaqqa bikalimatihi wayaqtaAAa dabira alkafireena

Translation:

Allah told you this thing only as a good news for you, and to comfort your hearts: although succor is always from Allah: indeed Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise.

Translit: Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra walitatmainna bihi quloobukum wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun

Translation:

This is because they have opposed Allah and His Messenger; whoso opposes Allah and His Messenger, surely Allah is very severe for him in retribution.

Translit: Thalika biannahum shaqqoo Allaha warasoolahu waman yushaqiqi Allaha warasoolahu fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

for the vilest beasts in Allahs sight are those deaf, dumb people who do not use commonsense.

Translit: Inna sharra alddawabbi AAinda Allahi alssummu albukmu allatheena la yaAAqiloona

Translation:

And guard against that mischief which will not bring punishment in particular to the mischief-makers alone from among you: and know that Allah is severe in inflicting punishment.

Translit: Waittaqoo fitnatan la tuseebanna allatheena thalamoo minkum khassatan waiAAlamoo anna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

And know that your worldly goods and your children are, in fact, a test for you, and Allah has plenty for giving you reward.

Translit: WaiAAlamoo annama amwalukum waawladukum fitnatun waanna Allaha AAindahu ajrun AAatheemun

Translation:

And recall also to mind the thing they said, "If it is the Truth and has been sent down by Thee, rain down stones on us from the heavens or send down any other painful torment on us."

Translit: Waith qaloo allahumma in kana hatha huwa alhaqqa min AAindika faamtir AAalayna hijaratan mina alssamai awi itina biAAathabin aleemin

Translation:

And what is their "prayer" near the House of Allah ?: it is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. So now take the chastisement and taste the torment in requital for your persistent denial of the Truth.

Translit: Wama kana salatuhum AAinda albayti illa mukaan watasdiyatan fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

Translation:

Just think of the time when Satan made their foul deeds seem fair to them and said, "Today no one can overcome you, for I am with you." But when the two armies confronted each other, he took to his heels, saying, "I have nothing to do with you; I see that which you cannot see. Indeed I fear Allah, for Allah is very severe in inflicting chastisement"

Translit: Waith zayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum waqala la ghaliba lakumu alyawma mina alnnasi wainnee jarun lakum falamma taraati alfiatani nakasa AAala AAaqibayhi waqala innee bareeon minkum innee ara ma la tarawna innee akhafu Allaha waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

This happened to them just as it had been happening to the people of Pharaoh and to the peoples before them: this was because they rejected His revelations and He seized them as a consequence of their sins, indeed Allah is All-Powerful and severe in inflicting chastisement.

Translit: Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kafaroo biayati Allahi faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim inna Allaha qawiyyun shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

Indeed the vilest creatures in the sight of Allah are those people who denied the Truth, and then would not believe in it.

Translit: Inna sharra alddawabbi AAinda Allahi allatheena kafaroo fahum la yuminoona

Translation:

And to encounter them, provide whatever force and trained ever-ready horses you can afford whereby you may strike terror into the enemies of Allah and your enemies as well and others besides them whom you do not know but whom Allah knows. The reward of whatever you expend in the way of Allah shall be repaid to you in full, and you shall not be wronged in any way.

Translit: WaaAAiddoo lahum ma istataAAtum min quwwatin wamin ribati alkhayli turhiboona bihi AAaduwwa Allahi waAAaduwwakum waakhareena min doonihim la taAAlamoonahumu Allahu yaAAlamuhum wama tunfiqoo min shayin fee sabeeli Allahi yuwaffa ilaykum waantum la tuthlamoona

Translation:

O Prophet! stir the Believers to the fight. If there be twenty men among you, who show fortitude, they will overcome two hundred men, and if there be a hundred such men of you, they will overcome a thousand of the deniers of the Truth, for they are a people who lack understanding.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu harridi almumineena AAala alqitali in yakun minkum AAishroona sabiroona yaghliboo miatayni wain yakun minkum miatun yaghliboo alfan mina allatheena kafaroo biannahum qawmun la yafqahoona

Translation:

How shall a treaty with these mushriks be regarded as abiding by Allah and His Messenger? -excepting those with whom you made a treaty at the Masjid-i-Haram: so long as they behave rightly with you, you also should behave rightly with them, for Allah loves the righteous people.-

Translit: Kayfa yakoonu lilmushrikeena AAahdun AAinda Allahi waAAinda rasoolihi illa allatheena AAahadtum AAinda almasjidi alharami fama istaqamoo lakum faistaqeemoo lahum inna Allaha yuhibbu almuttaqeena

Translation:

Have you made the mere giving of water to pilgrims and the guardianship of the Masjid-i-Haram as equal to the works of the one who has believed in Allah and the Last Day, and exerted his utmost in the Way of Allah ? Well, these things are not equal in the sight of Allah, and Allah does not show guidance to the workers of iniquity.

Translit: AjaAAaltum siqayata alhajji waAAimarata almasjidi alharami kaman amana biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri wajahada fee sabeeli Allahi la yastawoona AAinda Allahi waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translation:

Those alone who have believed, and left their homes and exerted their utmost with their lives and possessions in the Way of Allah, shall have the highest ranks with Allah: they are truly successful.

Translit: Allatheena amanoo wahajaroo wajahadoo fee sabeeli Allahi biamwalihim waanfusihim aAAthamu darajatan AAinda Allahi waolaika humu alfaizoona

therein they shall abide for ever, for surely Allah has abundance to give rewards for services.

Translation:

The fact is that the number of months ordained by Allah has been twelve since the time He created the heavens and the earth,34 and out of these four are forbidden months: this is the right code of reckoning: therefore do not wrong yourselves by violating these months. And fight against the mushriks all together even as they fight against you all together: and note it well that Allah is with the God fearing people.

Translit: Inna AAiddata alshshuhoori AAinda Allahi ithna AAashara shahran fee kitabi Allahi yawma khalaqa alssamawati waalarda minha arbaAAatun hurumun thalika alddeenu alqayyimu fala tathlimoo feehinna anfusakum waqatiloo almushrikeena kaffatan kama yuqatiloonakum kaffatan waiAAlamoo anna Allaha maAAa almuttaqeena

Translation:

Nasi is but one more instance of disbelief, whereby these disbelievers are led astray. In one year they make a certain month lawful and in another year they make the same a forbidden month, so as they might make up for the number of the forbidden months and, at the same time, make lawful that which is forbidden by Allah.37 Their evil deeds have been made seeming fair to them: for Allah does not guide those who deny the Truth.

Translit: Innama alnnaseeo ziyadatun fee alkufri yudallu bihi allatheena kafaroo yuhilloonahu AAaman wayuharrimoonahu AAaman liyuwatioo AAiddata ma harrama Allahu fayuhilloo ma harrama Allahu zuyyina lahum sooo aAAmalihim waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alkafireena

Translation:

If they had really intended to march forth, they would surely have made some preparation for it. But Allah was averse to their going forth; and He caused them to hold back, and it was said to them, "Stay behind with those who stay behind."

Translit: Walaw aradoo alkhurooja laaAAaddoo lahu AAuddatan walakin kariha Allahu inbiAAathahum fathabbatahum waqeela oqAAudoo maAAa alqaAAideena

Translation:

Say to them, "What can be the thing you await for us other than one of the two .best things? But what we await for you is whether Allah Himself inflicts His chastisement on you or at our hands; well, now await, and we, too await with you."

Translit: Qul hal tarabbasoona bina illa ihda alhusnayayni wanahnu natarabbasu bikum an yuseebakumu Allahu biAAathabin min AAindihi aw biaydeena fatarabbasoo inna maAAakum mutarabbisoona

Henceforth, if Allah brings you among them and any of them asks your leave to go forth for Jihad. say to them plainly, "Now you shall never be allowed to go forth with me nor to fight an enemy in my company; as you were pleased to stay behind the first time, now you stay at home with those who stay behind".

Translit: Fain rajaAAaka Allahu ila taifatin minhum faistathanooka lilkhurooji faqul lan takhrujoo maAAiya abadan walan tuqatiloo maAAiya AAaduwwan innakum radeetum bialquAAoodi awwala marratin faoqAAudoo maAAa alkhalifeena

Whenever a Surah was sent down with the revelation, "Believe in Allah and go forth for Jihad with His Messenger" , you might have perceived that even the capable people from among them began to beg you to excuse them from Jihad. saying, "Please leave us behind with those who are to stay at home.

Translit: Waitha onzilat sooratun an aminoo biAllahi wajahidoo maAAa rasoolihi istathanaka oloo alttawli minhum waqaloo tharna nakun maAAa alqaAAideena

Translation:

Likewise there can be no ground for criticizing those people who came to you in person and requested you to provide them with mounts. For when you said to them, "I am unable to provide you with mounts, they returned with heavy hearts, their eyes overflowing with tears: they were filled with sorrow that they had no means of going forth for Jihad at their own expense.

Translit: Wala AAala allatheena itha ma atawka litahmilahum qulta la ajidu ma ahmilukum AAalayhi tawallaw waaAAyunuhum tafeedu mina alddamAAi hazanan alla yajidoo ma yunfiqoona

Translation:

But among these Bedouins there are some, who believe in Allah and the Last Day and regard what they expend in the Way as a means of bringing themselves nearer to Allah and of seeking the Messengers prayers for Allahs blessing; yes, this is indeed a means of bringing them nearer to Allah, and Allah will certainly admit them to His blessing; indeed Allah is Forgiving and Compassionate.

Translit: Wamina alaAArabi man yuminu biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri wayattakhithu ma yunfiqu qurubatin AAinda Allahi wasalawati alrrasooli ala innaha qurbatun lahum sayudkhiluhumu Allahu fee rahmatihi inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

Do these people not know that it is Allah alone Who accepts the repentance of His servants and approves of their propitiatory offerings, and that Allah is indeed Forgiving, Compassionate?

Translit: Alam yaAAlamoo anna Allaha huwa yaqbalu alttawbata AAan AAibadihi wayakhuthu alssadaqati waanna Allaha huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu

Translation:

Indeed Allah has bought from the Believers their persons and their possessions in return for the Gardens;106 they fight in the Way of Allah, kill and are killed. This promise (of the Gardens) is the true pledge of Allah made in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran, and who is more true in fulfilling his promise than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him; and this is the greatest success.

Translit: Inna Allaha ishtara mina almumineena anfusahum waamwalahum bianna lahumu aljannata yuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahi fayaqtuloona wayuqtaloona waAAdan AAalayhi haqqan fee alttawrati waalinjeeli waalqurani waman awfa biAAahdihi mina Allahi faistabshiroo bibayAAikumu allathee bayaAAtum bihi wathalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu

Translation:

As regards the prayer of Abraham for his father, it was only to fulfill a promise he had made to him, but when he realized that he was an enemy of Allah, he disowned him. The fact is that Abraham was a tender-hearted, God fearing and forbearing man.

Translit: Wama kana istighfaru ibraheema liabeehi illa AAan mawAAidatin waAAadaha iyyahu falamma tabayyana lahu annahu AAaduwwun lillahi tabarraa minhu inna ibraheema laawwahun haleemun

"Did it seem strange to the people that We should have inspired a man from among themselves to warn the (neglectful) people, and to give the Believers the good news that they will have real honor and success with their Lord? (Is this the thing that) led the unbelievers to say, "This man is a manifest enchanter?"

Translit: Akana lilnnasi AAajaban an awhayna ila rajulin minhum an anthiri alnnasa wabashshiri allatheena amanoo anna lahum qadama sidqin AAinda rabbihim qala alkafiroona inna hatha lasahirun mubeenun

Translation:

The fact is that your Lord is the same Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then sat Himself upon the Throne of His Kingdom, and is directing the affairs of the universe. None can intercede with Him except after His permissions That is Allah, your Lord: so worship Him. Will you not then understand?

Translit: Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yudabbiru alamra ma min shafeeAAin illa min baAAdi ithnihi thalikumu Allahu rabbukum faoAAbudoohu afala tathakkaroona

Translation:

Strange is the behavior of man! When he is in affliction, he calls Us, standing or sitting or lying down, but when We remove his affliction from him, he behaves as if he had never called Us at the time when affliction came upon him. Thus the evil deeds of such transgressors have been made seeming fair to them.

Translit: Waitha massa alinsana alddurru daAAana lijanbihi aw qaAAidan aw qaiman falamma kashafna AAanhu durrahu marra kaan lam yadAAuna ila durrin massahu kathalika zuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

Translation:

These people worship besides Allah those which can neither harm nor benefit them, and say, "These are our intercessors with Allah." O Muhammad, say to them, "Do you presume to inform Allah of that thing which He knows not to be either in the heavens or in the earth ?" He is absolutely free from and exalted above what they associate with Him.

Translit: WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yadurruhum wala yanfaAAuhum wayaqooloona haolai shufaAAaona AAinda Allahi qul atunabbioona Allaha bima la yaAAlamu fee alssamawati wala fee alardi subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona

â€œAllah suffices as a witness between you and us and (even if you worshiped us) we were utterly unaware of your worshipâ€

Translit: Fakafa biAllahi shaheedan baynana wabaynakum in kunna AAan AAibadatikum laghafileena

Translation:

The fact is that they have denied (on mere conjecture) what was not within the reach of their knowledge nor had they, as yet, tasted its consequences. Likewise, the people who went before them declared as false the Revelations, but behold, what was the end of those unjust people!

Translit: Bal kaththaboo bima lam yuheetoo biAAilmihi walamma yatihim taweeluhu kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu alththalimeena

Translation:

Maybe, We let you witness some of the dire consequences with which We threaten them or raise you to Ourselves before this. Anyway they shall have to return to Us and Allah is a witness to what they are doing.

Translit: Waimma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka failayna marjiAAuhum thumma Allahu shaheedun AAala ma yafAAaloona

O mankind, there has come to you the Admonition from your Lord: this is the remedy for the diseases of the heart, and guidance and blessing for those who believe in it.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaatkum mawAAithatun min rabbikum washifaon lima fee alssudoori wahudan warahmatun lilmumineena

Translation:

O Prophet, let not their remarks grieve you, for honor wholly rests with Allah. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Translit: Wala yahzunka qawluhum inna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

Translation:

They remarked," Allah has taken a son to Himself. Allah is All-Pure! He is Self-Sufficient: He is the Owner of everything that is in the heavens and the earth. Have you any authority for what you say? What! do you ascribe to Allah that of which you have no knowledge?

Translit: Qaloo ittakhatha Allahu waladan subhanahu huwa alghaniyyu lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi in AAindakum min sultanin bihatha ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

So when the Truth came to them from Us, they said, "This is clear sorcery.

Translit: Falamma jaahumu alhaqqu min AAindina qaloo inna hatha lasihrun mubeenun

Translation:

We gave an excellent abode to the children of Israel and provided them with the best things of life. Then they caused not dissensions among themselves until the knowledge had come to them. Surely your Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they had been differing.

Translit: Walaqad bawwana banee israeela mubawwaa sidqin warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati fama ikhtalafoo hatta jaahumu alAAilmu inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona

Translation:

If Allah afflicts you with a calamity, there is none to remove it but He Himself. Likewise if He wills to bestow a favor on you, there is none to withhold His bounty. He bestows His bounty on anyone of His servants He wills. And He is Forgiving and Merciful."

Translit: Wain yamsaska Allahu bidurrin fala kashifa lahu illa huwa wain yuridka bikhayrin fala radda lifadlihi yuseebu bihi man yashao min AAibadihi wahuwa alghafooru alrraheemu

Translation:

and you may has been revealed with Allahs knowledge and that there is no true deity other than Allah. Do you then surrender to this (which is the very Truth)?

Translit: Fai llam yastajeeboo lakum faiAAlamoo annama onzila biAAilmi Allahi waan la ilaha illa huwa fahal antum muslimoona

Translation:

Can it happen that he who takes his stand on a clear evidence from his Lord, subsequently followed by a witness from Him (in his support), and prior to that the Book of Moses was revealed as a guide and a mercy, (would even he deny the truth in the manner of those who adore the life of this world)? Rather, such men are bound to believe in it. The Fire shall be the promised resort of the groups that disbelieve. So be in no doubt about it for this indeed is the truth from your Lord although most people do not believe.

Translit: Afaman kana AAala bayyinatin min rabbihi wayatloohu shahidun minhu wamin qablihi kitabu moosa imaman warahmatan olaika yuminoona bihi waman yakfur bihi mina alahzabi faalnnaru mawAAiduhu fala taku fee miryatin minhu innahu alhaqqu min rabbika walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona

Translation:

-on those unjust people who debar others from Allahs Way and seek to make it crooked; and who disbelieve in the Hereafter.

Translit: Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bialakhirati hum kafiroona

Translation:

These two groups may be likened to two men, one of whom is blind and deaf, and the other can see and hear. Can they be alike and equal? Do you not learn a lesson( from this example)?

Translit: Mathalu alfareeqayni kaalaAAma waalasammi waalbaseeri waalssameeAAi hal yastawiyani mathalan afala tathakkaroona

Translation:

He replied, "O my people, just consider it yourselves: If my Lord had sent a clear Sign to me and then bestowed His special blessing on me, but you did not see it, how can we compel you to accept that, when you are averse to it ?

Translit: Qala ya qawmi araaytum in kuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waatanee rahmatan min AAindihi faAAummiyat AAalaykum anulzimukumooha waantum laha karihoona

Translation:

And I do not say to you that I possess treasures from Allah: nor do I say that I have the knowledge of the unseen: nor do I claim to be an angel: nor can I say about those whom you disdain, `Allah has not bestowed on them any good. Allah knows best what is in their minds: for I shall be unjust, if I utter anything like this.

Translit: Wala aqoolu lakum AAindee khazainu Allahi wala aAAlamu alghayba wala aqoolu innee malakun wala aqoolu lillatheena tazdaree aAAyunukum lan yutiyahumu Allahu khayran Allahu aAAlamu bima fee anfusihim innee ithan lamina alththalimeena

Translation:

At last those people said, "O Noah, you have already argued with us and argued too much. Now you bring down on us that scourge with which you threaten us, if what you say be true."

Translit: Qaloo ya noohu qad jadaltana faaktharta jidalana fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena

Translation:

but start to build an Ark under Our supervision in accordance with Our Revelation. And beware that you do not plead with Me for those who had been unjust: indeed now they shall all be drowned."

Translit: WaisnaAAi alfulka biaAAyunina wawahyina wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoona

Translation:

In answer it was said, "O Noah! He is not of your family; he has turned out to be a worthless act. So do not ask Me anything of which you have no knowledge. I admonish you that you should not behave like ignorant people."

Translit: Qala ya noohu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru salihin fala tasalni ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun innee aAAithuka an takoona mina aljahileena

Translation:

Noah meekly replied, "My Lord, I seek Thy protection lest I should ask of Thee anything of which I have no knowledge. For if Thou forgivest me not for my presumption, and hast not mercy on me, I shall be totally ruined.

Translit: Qala rabbi innee aAAoothu bika an asalaka ma laysa lee bihi AAilmun wailla taghfir lee watarhamnee akun mina alkhasireena

Translation:

And lo, Our Messengers came to Abraham with good news. They said, "Peace be upon you." Abraham answered, "Peace be also upon you." And before long he brought a roasted calf for them.

Translit: Walaqad jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo salaman qala salamun fama labitha an jaa biAAijlin haneethin

Translation:

Then the angels said, "O Lot, We are messengers sent by your Lord. They shall not be able to do you any harm. So depart from here with the people of your household in the last hours of the night. And look here: none of you should turn round to look behind; but your wife (who will not accompany you) shall meet with the same doom as they. The morning has been appointed for their destruction-the morning has almost come."

Translit: Qaloo ya lootu inna rusulu rabbika lan yasiloo ilayka faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli wala yaltafit minkum ahadun illa imraataka innahu museebuha ma asabahum inna mawAAidahumu alssubhu alaysa alssubhu biqareebin

and each one of these stones had been specifically marked by your Lord. And such scourge is not far from the workers of iniquity.

Translit: Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika wama hiya mina alththalimeena bibaAAeedin

Translation:

Listen! Cast away were also the people of Madian as were Thamud cast away.

Translit: Kaan lam yaghnaw feeha ala buAAdan limadyana kama baAAidat thamoodu

Translation:

As for those who shall be blessed they will go to the Garden and dwell therein for ever as long as the earth and the heavens shall last, unless your Lord wills something else. They will be blessed with a boon that will be imperishable.

Translit: Waamma allatheena suAAidoo fafee aljannati khalideena feeha ma damati alssamawatu waalardu illa ma shaa rabbuka AAataan ghayra majthoothin

Translation:

And, O Muhammad, We relate the stories of the Messengers to you to strengthen your heart by these. And you have received the knowledge of the reality through these and the Believers have got an admonition and a reminder from them.

Translit: Wakullan naqussu AAalayka min anbai alrrusuli ma nuthabbitu bihi fuadaka wajaaka fee hathihi alhaqqu wamawAAithatun wathikra lilmumineena

Translation:

At this one of them said, "Dont kill Joseph; but if you are bent on doing something, cast him into some dark well. Maybe some caravan passing by will take him out of it."

Translit: Qala qailun minhum la taqtuloo yoosufa waalqoohu fee ghayabati aljubbi yaltaqithu baAAdu alssayyarati in kuntum faAAileena

Translation:

At nightfall they returned to their father, weeping and wailing,

Translit: Wajaoo abahum AAishaan yabkoona

Translation:

and said, "O father! we were absorbed in running races, and we had left Joseph with our things, when a wolf came and devoured him: but you will never believe us, even though we were truthful".

Translit: Qaloo ya abana inna thahabna nastabiqu watarakna yoosufa AAinda mataAAina faakalahu alththibu wama anta bimuminin lana walaw kunna sadiqeena

Translation:

And when he reached his full maturity, We bestowed on him judgment and knowledge. This is how We reward the righteous people.

Translit: Walamma balagha ashuddahu ataynahu hukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineena

Translation:

She advanced towards him, and he also would have advanced towards her, had he not perceived his Lords argument. This was so that We may remove indecency and immodesty from him;23 indeed he was one of Our chosen servants.

Translit: Walaqad hammat bihi wahamma biha lawla an raa burhana rabbihi kathalika linasrifa AAanhu alssooa waalfahshaa innahu min AAibadina almukhlaseena

Translation:

Then to the one who he thought would be released. Joseph said, "Mention me to your lord (the king of Egypt)". But Satan made him so neglectful that he forgot to mention him to his lord, and so Joseph remained in the prison for several years.

Translit: Waqala lillathee thanna annahu najin minhuma othkurnee AAinda rabbika faansahu alshshaytanu thikra rabbihi falabitha fee alssijni bidAAa sineena

Translation:

One day the king said, "I saw in a dream seven fat cows whom seven lean cows were devouring. Likewise I saw seven green ears of corn, and seven withered ones. O my courtiers, tell me the interpretation of my dream, if you understand the meanings of dreams"

Translit: Waqala almaliku innee ara sabAAa baqaratin simanin yakuluhunna sabAAun AAijafun wasabAAa sunbulatin khudrin waokhara yabisatin ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee ruyaya in kuntum lilrruya taAAburoona

Translation:

Going to Joseph, he said, "Joseph, O man of righteousness! tell me the meaning of the dream of seven fat cows whom seven lean cows are devouring, and of seven green ears of corn and seven withered ones. Maybe I go back to those people and they might understand it."

Translit: Yoosufu ayyuha alssiddeequ aftina fee sabAAi baqaratin simanin yakuluhunna sabAAun AAijafun wasabAAi sunbulatin khudrin waokhara yabisatin laAAallee arjiAAu ila alnnasi laAAallahum yaAAlamoona

But if you do not bring him to me you shall have no grain from me: nay you should not even come near me."

Translit: Fain lam tatoonee bihi fala kayla lakum AAindee wala taqrabooni

They replied "We will try our very best to persuade his father to send him with us. This we will surely do."

Translit: Qaloo sanurawidu AAanhu abahu wainna lafaAAiloona

Translation:

And it so happened that when they entered the city by different gates as their father had advised them the precautionary measure proved ineffective against Allahs will. Of course Jacob had done his best to avert the fear he had in his heart. Indeed he possessed knowledge because of what We had taught him: but most people do not understand the reality of the matter.

Translit: Walamma dakhaloo min haythu amarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahi min shayin illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadaha wainnahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

Translation:

Then Joseph first began to search the packs of his step-brothers before searching the pack of his own brother. At last he took it out from the pack of his brother. Thus We supported Joseph with Our plan: or it did not behoove Joseph to seize his brother (by the kings law) except that Allah willed it so. We raise high the ranks of those We will, and there is the One Whose knowledge is far greater than the knowledge of all others.

Translit: Fabadaa biawAAiyatihim qabla wiAAai akheehi thumma istakhrajaha min wiAAai akheehi kathalika kidna liyoosufa ma kana liyakhutha akhahu fee deeni almaliki illa an yashaa Allahu narfaAAu darajatin man nashao wafawqa kulli thee AAilmin AAaleemun

Translation:

Joseph replied, "God forbid that we should seize any other than the one with whom we have found our property: for, if we do this, we shall be unjust."

Translit: Qala maAAatha Allahi an nakhutha illa man wajadna mataAAana AAindahu inna ithan lathalimoona

Translation:

There is an object lesson in these stories of the former people for those, who possess common sense. That thing which is being sent down in the Quran is not a forgery, but (is absolutely genuine and) it confirms the previous Scriptures, gives details80 of everything, and is a guidance and blessing for the Believers.

Translit: Laqad kana fee qasasihim AAibratun liolee alalbabi ma kana hadeethan yuftara walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi watafseela kulli shayin wahudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona

Translation:

They demand from you the hastening of evil rather than good, though indeed there have been instances of exemplary punishments before them (of the wrath of God on the people who adopted the same attitude.) The fact is that your Lord shows forbearance to the people despite their transgressions, and it is also the fact that your Lord is stern in retribution.

Translit: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wainna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAala thulmihim wainna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

Allah knows what every female bears in her womb: He is fully aware of what is taking shape in the womb and also what decrease or increase occurs therein. Everything has its fixed measure with Him.

Translit: Allahu yaAAlamu ma tahmilu kullu ontha wama tagheedu alarhamu wama tazdadu wakullu shayin AAindahu bimiqdarin

Translation:

The thunder glorifies Him with His praise and the angels, too, glorify Him in awe of Him. He lets loose thunderbolts and (often) smites with them whomsoever He wills, while they are wrangling about Allah. The fact is that His plan is very effective.

Translit: Wayusabbihu alrraAAdu bihamdihi waalmalaikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu alssawaAAiqa fayuseebu biha man yashao wahum yujadiloona fee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihali

Translation:

Allah sent down water from the sky and every system carried it along according to its capacity: then there was flood and a swelling foam came to the surface. Likewise there arises a scum out of the metals which are melted in the furnace for making ornaments and utensils. By such similitudes, Allah makes the truth distinct from falsehood. That which is the foam vanishes and that which is beneficial for the people remains on the earth. In this way Allah cites similes to make His Message clear.

Translit: Anzala mina alssamai maan fasalat awdiyatun biqadariha faihtamala alssaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimma yooqidoona AAalayhi fee alnnari ibtighaa hilyatin aw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribu Allahu alhaqqa waalbatila faamma alzzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waamma ma yanfaAAu alnnasa fayamkuthu fee alardi kathalika yadribu Allahu alamthala

Translation:

Other Messengers have also been mocked before you, but I have always given respite to the disbelievers and then seized upon them at its end. Just see how terrible had been My Scourge!

Translit: Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika faamlaytu lillatheena kafaroo thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi

Translation:

As regards the Paradise which the God fearing have been promised it is like this: canals flow beneath it, its fruits are eternal and its shade is perpetual. Such is the reward of the righteous but the reward of the disbelievers is the tire of Hell.

Translit: Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona tajree min tahtiha alanharu okuluha daimun wathilluha tilka AAuqba allatheena ittaqaw waAAuqba alkafireena alnnaru

Translation:

It is with this instruction that We have sent this Command in Arabic to you. Now if you follow the desires and lusts of the people in spite of the knowledge you have received there shall be none to defend you nor to protect you against Allah.

Translit: Wakathalika anzalnahu hukman AAarabiyyan walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda ma jaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin wala waqin

Translation:

Allah abrogates whatever He pleases and keeps intact whatever He wills and He has the Original Book with Him.

Translit: Yamhoo Allahu ma yashao wayuthbitu waAAindahu ommu alkitabi

Translation:

And O Prophet! Rest assured that We will carry out the threat We are holding out to them whether a part of it should happen during your lifetime or We should cause you to die before its fulfillment. Anyhow your duty is only to convey the Message and it is for Us to do the reckoning.

Translit: Wain ma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAAalayna alhisabu

Translation:

These disbelievers say, â€œYou are not a Messenger of Allah.â€ Say, â€œAllah suffices for a witness between me and you, and every such person who has the knowledge of the Book.â€

Translit: Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lasta mursalan qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum waman AAindahu AAilmu alkitabi

Translation:

who love the life of this world more than the life pf the Hereafter: who debar people from Allahs Way and want to make this Way crooked (to suit their wishes). They have gone far astray from the Way of Allah.

Translit: Allatheena yastahibboona alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan olaika fee dalalin baAAeedin

Translation:

The Messengers replied, "It is true that we are no more than human beings like you, but Allah shows His favor to anyone of His servants He pleases. And it is not in our power to bring any Sign for you. A Sign can come only by Allahs permission. And in Allah alone should the believers put their trust.

Translit: Qalat lahum rusuluhum in nahnu illa basharun mithlukum walakinna Allaha yamunnu AAala man yashao min AAibadihi wama kana lana an natiyakum bisultanin illa biithni Allahi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona

Translation:

O Prophet! Tell My servants who have believed, to establish Salat, and expend openly and secretly (on good works) out of what We have given them41 before that Day comes when there shall be no buying and selling and no friendly help.

Translit: Qul liAAibadiya allatheena amanoo yuqeemoo alssalata wayunfiqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan min qabli an yatiya yawmun la bayAAun feehi wala khilalun

Translation:

Lord! I have settled some of my descendants in a barren valley near Thy Sacred House. Lord! I have done this in the hope that they would establish Salat there. So turn the hearts of the people towards them, and provide fruits for their food. It is expected that they will become grateful.

Translit: Rabbana innee askantu min thurriyyatee biwadin ghayri thee zarAAin AAinda baytika almuharrami rabbana liyuqeemoo alssalata faijAAal afidatan mina alnnasi tahwee ilayhim waorzuqhum mina alththamarati laAAallahum yashkuroona

Translation:

"All praise be to Allah Who has given me sons like Ismail and Isaac in my old age. Indeed, my Lord hears all prayers.

Translit: Alhamdu lillahi allathee wahaba lee AAala alkibari ismaAAeela waishaqa inna rabbee lasameeAAu aldduAAai

Translation:

Lord! help make me establish Salat and from among my descendants (raise those who should do this work).

Translit: Rabbi ijAAalnee muqeema alssalati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal duAAai

O Muhammad, fore-warn them of the Day when Our scourge will overtake them: then these wrong-doers will say, "Our Lord! give us a little more respite: we will respond to Thy Message and follow the Messengers." (But it will be said to them decisively,) "Are you not the same people who swore before this that you will never meet with a decline,

Translit: Waanthiri alnnasa yawma yateehimu alAAathabu fayaqoolu allatheena thalamoo rabbana akhkhirna ila ajalin qareebin nujib daAAwataka wanattabiAAi alrrusula awalam takoonoo aqsamtum min qablu ma lakum min zawalin

Translation:

They had tried all their cunning devices to outwit Us but Allah had the remedy to counteract their devices, even though these were so powerful as to move mountains."

Translit: Waqad makaroo makrahum waAAinda Allahi makruhum wain kana makruhum litazoola minhu aljibalu

Translation:

O Muhammad! Already We have sent Messengers before you among many of the ancient peoples.

Translit: Walaqad arsalna min qablika fee shiyaAAi alawwaleena

Translation:

There is not a thing whose treasures are not with Us, and We send down each thing in appropriate measure.

Translit: Wain min shayin illa AAindana khazainuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarin maAAloomin

Translation:

except those of Thy servants whom Thou hast chosen for Thyself from amongst them. "

Translit: Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena

Translation:

Indeed, thou shalt have no power over My sincere servants. Thou wilt succeed only in beguiling those who shall follow thee,

Translit: Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaweena

and they shall all be destined for Hell."

Translit: Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena

O Prophet! tell My servants, "I am Forgiving and Merciful,

You should, therefore, depart with your people in the last hours of the night and you yourself should follow them in their rear; let none of you turn round to look behind; go straight where you are being bidden."

Translit: Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tumaroona

At last Lot pleaded, "Here are my daughters, if you are bent on it."

who have caused divisions in their Quran".

He sends down by His command through His angels the Spirit on that one of His servants whom He chooses, (bidding), â€œwarn the people that there is no other deity than I. Therefore, fear Me.â€

Translit: Yunazzilu almalaikata bialrroohi min amrihi AAala man yashao min AAibadihi an anthiroo annahu la ilaha illa ana faittaqooni

Translation:

They say such things so that they should bear the full brunt of their own burdens on the Day of Resurrection together with some of the burdens of those whom they are leading astray in their ignorance. Behold! what a heavy responsibility they are taking on themselves!

Translit: Liyahmiloo awzarahum kamilatan yawma alqiyamati wamin awzari allatheena yudilloonahum bighayri AAilmin ala saa ma yaziroona

Translation:

Many of those who have gone before them also contrived such cunning devices to defeat the Truth, but behold! Allah smote the edifice of their evil designs at its foundations and its roof fell down upon their heads from above them, and the scourge overtook them from the direction they little dreamed that it would come.

Translit: Qad makara allatheena min qablihim faata Allahu bunyanahum mina alqawaAAidi fakharra AAalayhimu alssaqfu min fawqihim waatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona

Translation:

Then on the Day of Resurrection Allah will disgrace and degrade them. He will say to them: "Now where are My partners concerning whom you used to dispute (with the truthful)?"Those, to whom Knowledge had been given in the world, will say, "Today there is ignominy and misery for the disbelievers."

Translit: Thumma yawma alqiyamati yukhzeehim wayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tushaqqoona feehim qala allatheena ootoo alAAilma inna alkhizya alyawma waalssooa AAala alkafireena

Translation:

And surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies between filth and blood, that is, pure milk, which is very pleasant to those who drink it.

Translit: Wainna lakum fee alanAAami laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butoonihi min bayni farthin wadamin labanan khalisan saighan lilshsharibeena

Translation:

And consider this: Allah created you: then He causes your death; and some one from among you is carried on to abject old age so that after knowing all he could, he may no longer have any knowledge of it. The fact is that Allah alone is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

Translit: WaAllahu khalaqakum thumma yatawaffakum waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likay la yaAAlama baAAda AAilmin shayan inna Allaha AAaleemun qadeerun

Translation:

Allah enjoins justice, generosity and kind treatment with kindred, and forbids indecency, wickedness and oppression. He admonishes you so that you may learn a lesson.

Translit: Inna Allaha yamuru bialAAadli waalihsani waeetai thee alqurba wayanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari waalbaghyi yaAAithukum laAAallakum tathakkaroona

Translation:

Do not barter away the Covenant of Allah for paltry gains: Indeed what is with Allah is far better for you if you knew it.

Translit: Wala tashtaroo biAAahdi Allahi thamanan qaleelan innama AAinda Allahi huwa khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

Translation:

Whatever is with you is transitory and whatever is with Allah is ever-lasting. And We will reward those, who practice fortitude according to their best deeds.

Translit: Ma AAindakum yanfadu wama AAinda Allahi baqin walanajziyanna allatheena sabaroo ajrahum biahsani ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

Then, when you begin to recite the Quran, seek Allahs refuge against the accursed Satan,

Translit: Faitha qarata alqurana faistaAAith biAllahi mina alshshaytani alrrajeemi

Allah has sealed the hearts, the ears and the eyes of such people and they have become neglectful:

Translit: Olaika allatheena tabaAAa Allahu AAala quloobihim wasamAAihim waabsarihim waolaika humu alghafiloona

Translation:

Allah cites the instance of a habitation: it was enjoying a life of peace and security and was receiving its provisions in abundance from every quarter. Hut when it began to show ingratitude towards the favors of Allah, He made its inhabitants taste the consequences of their doings, and inflicted misfortunes of hunger and fear on them.

Translit: Wadaraba Allahu mathalan qaryatan kanat aminatan mutmainnatan yateeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makanin fakafarat bianAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahu libasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanoo yasnaAAoona

Translation:

As regards the Sabbath, We imposed this on those who differed about its observance. Surely your Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection about all those things in which they have been differing.

Translit: Innama juAAila alssabtu AAala allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi wainna rabbaka layahkumu baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona

Translation:

O Prophet invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and excellent admonition and discuss things with people in the best manner. Your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Way and He knows best who is rightly guided.

Translit: OdAAu ila sabeeli rabbika bialhikmati waalmawAAithati alhasanati wajadilhum biallatee hiya ahsanu inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena

Translation:

When the occasion of the first of the two mischiefs came, O Israelites, We raised against you such of Our servants who were very mighty and formidable; so they penetrated through all parts of your country. This was a warning that was bound to be fulfilled.

Translit: Faitha jaa waAAdu oolahuma baAAathna AAalaykum AAibadan lana olee basin shadeedin fajasoo khilala alddiyari wakana waAAdan mafAAoolan

Translation:

Just see how many generations have been destroyed by Our Command after Noah. Your Lord is fully aware of the sins of his servants and is seeing everything.

Translit: Wakam ahlakna mina alqurooni min baAAdi noohin wakafa birabbika bithunoobi AAibadihi khabeeran baseeran

Translation:

Your Lord has enjoined the following: 1. You should not worship anyone but Him. 2. Treat your parents with great consideration; if either or both of them live with you in their old age, do not say even "fie" to them: nor rebuke them, but speak kind words to them;

Translit: Waqada rabbuka alla taAAbudoo illa iyyahu wabialwalidayni ihsanan imma yablughanna AAindaka alkibara ahaduhuma aw kilahuma fala taqul lahuma offin wala tanharhuma waqul lahuma qawlan kareeman

Your Lord provides plentifully to whom He wills and withholds His provisions from anyone He pleases, for He is fully aware of the condition of His servants and observes them closely.

Translit: Inna rabbaka yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru innahu kana biAAibadihi khabeeran baseeran

Translation:

13. Do not follow that of which you have no knowledge for you shall be questioned for (the use) of your eyes, ears and minds.

Translit: Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun inna alssamAAa waalbasara waalfuada kullu olaika kana AAanhu masoolan

Translation:

The evil aspect of each of these Commandments is odious in the sight of your Lord.

Translit: Kullu thalika kana sayyiohu AAinda rabbika makroohan

Translation:

They say, "What! shall we really be raised up again into a new creation, when we are reduced to bones and dust?"

Translit: Waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan

Translation:

And O Muhammad!, say to My servants, "They should utter only that which is the best of all. In reality, it is Satan who tries to sow discord between human beings. The fact is that Satan is the avowed enemy of man.

Translit: Waqul liAAibadee yaqooloo allatee hiya ahsanu inna alshshaytana yanzaghu baynahum inna alshshaytana kana lilinsani AAaduwwan mubeenan

Translation:

You may try to allure with your invitation whomsoever you can. Rally against them your horsemen and your footmen: set a partner with them in their wealth and children and entice them with your false promises And Stars promises are nothing but deception.

Translit: Waistafziz mani istataAAta minhum bisawtika waajlib AAalayhim bikhaylika warajlika washarikhum fee alamwali waalawladi waAAidhum wama yaAAiduhumu alshshaytanu illa ghurooran

Translation:

Indeed you will have no power over my servants." And your Lord suffices for you as a guardian.

Translit: Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun wakafa birabbika wakeelan

Translation:

They ask you about "The Spirit." Say, "This Spirit comes by the command of my Lord, but you have been given only a little of the Knowledge."

Translit: Wayasaloonaka AAani alrroohi quli alrroohu min amri rabbee wama ooteetum mina alAAilmi illa qaleelan

Translation:

or a garden of date-palms and vines be created for you, and you cause canals to flow in it;

Translit: Aw takoona laka jannatun min nakheelin waAAinabin fatufajjira alanhara khilalaha tafjeeran

Translation:

O Muhammad, say to them, "Allah suffices for a witness to judge between you and me: for He is fully aware of and is observing what His servants are doing."

Translit: Qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum innahu kana biAAibadihi khabeeran baseeran

Translation:

This is their recompense, for they rejected Our Signs and said, "What! shall we really be raised up anew, when we have been reduced to bones and dust?"

Translit: Thalika jazaohum biannahum kafaroo biayatina waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan

Translation:

O Muhammad, say to these people, â€œWhether you believe in it or not, those who were given the knowledge before this, fall prostrate on their faces when it is recited to them

Translit: Qul aminoo bihi aw la tuminoo inna allatheena ootoo alAAilma min qablihi itha yutla AAalayhim yakhirroona lilathqani sujjadan

Translation:

All praise is for Allah, Who has sent down this Book to His Servant, and assigned nothing crooked to it.

Translit: Alhamdu lillahi allathee anzala AAala AAabdihi alkitaba walam yajAAal lahu AAiwajan

Translation:

Neither had they any knowledge of this nor their forefathers; it is a monstrous word that comes out of their mouths: they utter a sheer lie.

Translit: Ma lahum bihi min AAilmin wala liabaihim kaburat kalimatan takhruju min afwahihim in yaqooloona illa kathiban

Translation:

In the end, We will turn all that is in it into a bare plain.

Translit: Wainna lajaAAiloona ma AAalayha saAAeedan juruzan

Translation:

And in the same miraculous way We raised them up again so that they may ask one another (about their wonderful experience). One of them asked, "Well, how long have you remained in this condition?â€ The others answered, "May-be, we have remained so for a day or a part of a day.â€ Then they declared, "Your Lord knows best how long we have remained in this condition. So let us send one of us with this silver coin to the city, and he should look for a place wherein he can get the best food so that he may bring something to eat. He should, however, conduct himself with caution lest anyone should discover our whereabouts;

Translit: Wakathalika baAAathnahum liyatasaaloo baynahum qala qailun minhum kam labithtum qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAda yawmin qaloo rabbukum aAAlamu bima labithtum faibAAathoo ahadakum biwariqikum hathihi ila almadeenati falyanthur ayyuha azka taAAaman falyatikum birizqin minhu walyatalattaf wala yushAAiranna bikum ahadan

Translation:

Some people will say, "They were three and the fourth was their dog,â€ and some others will say, "They were five and the sixth was their dog.â€ These are mere irrelevant guesses. There are still others who say, "They were seven and the eighth was their dog.â€ Say, "My Lord alone knows best how many they were." "There are a few people only who know their correct number: so you should not enter into discussions with them about their number except in a cursory way: nor ask anyone about them

Translit: Sayaqooloona thalathatun rabiAAuhum kalbuhum wayaqooloona khamsatun sadisuhum kalbuhum rajman bialghaybi wayaqooloona sabAAatun wathaminuhum kalbuhum qul rabbee aAAlamu biAAiddatihim ma yaAAlamuhum illa qaleelun fala tumari feehim illa miraan thahiran wala tastafti feehim minhum ahadan

Translation:

and never say about any matter, "I will do this tomorrow (for you cannot do anything)

Translit: Wala taqoolanna lishayin innee faAAilun thalika ghadan

Translation:

Likewise this wealth and the offspring are mere transitory adornment of worldly life: in fact the abiding good deeds are best in the sight of your Lord in regard to their end, and hold out for you greater hopes.

Translit: Almalu waalbanoona zeenatu alhayati alddunya waalbaqiyatu alssalihatu khayrun AAinda rabbika thawaban wakhayrun amalan

Translation:

and all shall be presented before your Lord in rows-Well! you may see that you have come before Us in the same condition in which We created you at first: You were under the delusion that We had not fixed any time of appointment with you-

Translit: WaAAuridoo AAala rabbika saffan laqad jitumoona kama khalaqnakum awwala marratin bal zaAAamtum allan najAAala lakum mawAAidan

Translation:

Your Lord is very Forgiving and very Merciful: Had He willed to seize them for their evil deeds, He would have sent immediately a scourge on them but He has appointed a time for its fulfillment, and they will find no way out to escape from it.

Translit: Warabbuka alghafooru thoo alrrahmati law yuakhithuhum bima kasaboo laAAajjala lahumu alAAathaba bal lahum mawAAidun lan yajidoo min doonihi mawilan

Translation:

These habitations which were stricken with the scourge are before you: when they committed iniquity We annihilated them, and We had appointed a term for their annihilation.

Translit: Watilka alqura ahlaknahum lamma thalamoo wajaAAalna limahlikihim mawAAidan

and there they found one of our servants whom We had blessed with special favor and had given him a special knowledge from Ourselves.

Translit: Fawajada AAabdan min AAibadina ataynahu rahmatan min AAindina waAAallamnahu min ladunna AAilman

He answered, "You cannot bear with me, â€

Translit: Qala innaka lan tastateeAAa maAAiya sabran

He answered, "Didn't I tell you that you would not be able to bear with me patiently?â€

He answered, "Didn't I tell you that you would not be able to bear with me patiently?â€

Translation:

(to the West and marched on) till he reached the limit where the sun set, and found it setting in black waters, and there he saw a people. We said to him, "O Zul-Qarnain! You have the power to punish them and also the option to treat them generously.â€

Translit: Hatta itha balagha maghriba alshshamsi wajadaha taghrubu fee AAaynin hamiatin wawajada AAindaha qawman qulna ya tha alqarnayni imma an tuAAaththiba waimma an tattakhitha feehim husnan

Translation:

What, do these people, who have disbelieved, presume that they would make My servants their helpers beside Me?75 We have prepared Hell for the hospitality of such people.

Translit: Afahasiba allatheena kafaroo an yattakhithoo AAibadee min doonee awliyaa inna aAAtadna jahannama lilkafireena nuzulan

O Muhammad say to them, "I am a human being like you: it has been revealed to me that your Deity is only One Allah. Therefore the one who expects to meet his Lord, should not associate with Him any other deity in His worship.â€

Translit: Qul innama ana basharun mithlukum yooha ilayya annama ilahukum ilahun wahidun faman kana yarjoo liqaa rabbihi falyaAAmal AAamalan salihan wala yushrik biAAibadati rabbihi ahadan

He prayed, â€œO my Lord! My very bones have become rotten, and my head is glistening with age. My Lord! I have never been disappointed in my prayer to Thee.

He said, â€œLord, how can I beget a son when my wife is barren, and I have become impotent because of old age?â€

Then the throes of childbirth urged her to take shelter under a date palm. There she began to cry, "Oh! would that I had died before this and sunk into oblivion.â€

Translit: Faajaaha almakhadu ila jithAAi alnnakhlati qalat ya laytanee mittu qabla hatha wakuntu nasyan mansiyyan

as for your food, shake the trunk of this tree and fresh, ripe dates will fall down for you;

Dear father! I have received that knowledge which you have not got; so you should follow me and I will guide you on the Right Way.

I forsake all of you as well as those whom you invoke instead of Allah: I will invoke my Lord alone: I do hope that I shall not fail to gain my object' by invoking my Lord."

Translit: WaaAAtazilukum wama tadAAoona min dooni Allahi waadAAoo rabbee AAasa alla akoona biduAAai rabbee shaqiyyan

He enjoined his people to offer Salat and give Zakat, and his Lord was well pleased with him.

Translit: Wakana yamuru ahlahu bialssalati waalzzakati wakana AAinda rabbihi mardiyyan

Translation:

They will have those everlasting Gardens, which the Merciful has promised to His servants, while yet they have not seen them, and most surely that promise shall be fulfilled.

Translit: Jannati AAadnin allatee waAAada alrrahmanu AAibadahu bialghaybi innahu kana waAAduhu matiyyan

That is the Garden which We will give as an inheritance to that one of Our servants, who leads a pious life.

He is the Lord, of the Heavens and the Lord of the Earth, and of all that is between them; so serve Him and be steadfast in His service. Do you know of any other being equal in rank to Him?

then We will pick out from every band, each one of those who had been most rebellious against the Merciful;

In contrast to them, Allah increases in guidance those who adopt the righteous way; and the abiding deeds of righteousness are better in the sight of your Lord in regard to their reward and their end.

Translit: Wayazeedu Allahu allatheena ihtadaw hudan waalbaqiyatu alssalihatu khayrun AAinda rabbika thawaban wakhayrun maraddan

What! has the unseen been revealed to him? Or has he taken a pledge from the Merciful?

Translit: AttalaAAa alghayba ami ittakhatha AAinda alrrahmani AAahdan

These people have set up other gods than Allah so that they may become their supporters.

Translit: Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan liyakoonoo lahum AAizzan

But they will have no supporter; all of them will not only disown their worship but also become their opponents.

Translit: Kalla sayakfuroona biAAibadatihim wayakoonoona AAalayhim diddan

At that time no one shall have the ability to intercede except the one who may have received permission from the Merciful.

Moses replied, "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, secure in a writing; my Lord neither errs nor forgets."

Translit: Qala AAilmuha AAinda rabbee fee kitabin la yadillu rabbee wala yansa

Well, we will also bring as strong a sorcery as yours. So settle with us when and where should the encounter take place; then neither should we back out of this agreement nor you. Come out in the open field."

Translit: Falanatiyannaka bisihrin mithlihi faijAAal baynana wabaynaka mawAAidan la nukhlifuhu nahnu wala anta makanan suwan

Moses replied, "Let the encounter take place on the Day of the Feast, and the people assemble after the rising of the sun."

Moses replied, "No, cast down (yours)." Suddenly it so appeared to Moses that their cords and staffs were running about by the power of their magic,

Pharaoh said, "Have you believed in him before I gave you permission? Obviously, he is your master who has taught you sorcery. Well, now I will have your hands and feet cut off on alternate sides46 and crucify you on the trunks of palm-trees then you shall know whose punishment is more terrible and tasting (mine or that of Moses)."

Translit: Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi alnnakhli walataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa

We sent this Revelation to Moses: "Set forth with My servants during the night and make for them a dry path across the sea. Have no fear of being overtaken nor be afraid (while passing through the sea)."

Translit: Walaqad awhayna ila moosa an asri biAAibadee faidrib lahum tareeqan fee albahri yabasan la takhafu darakan wala takhsha

Moses returned to his people in a state of anger and grief. Reaching there, he said, "O my people, did not your Lord make good promises with you? Had a long time passed since those promises were fulfilled? Or did you want Allah's wrath to come down upon you that you went against your Covenant with me?"

Translit: FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alam yaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatala AAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabun min rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee

They answered, "We did not go against the Covenant with you of our own accord; it so happened that we felt burdened with the ornaments of the people and we merely threw them down. Then the Samiri also put down something like these

Translit: Qaloo ma akhlafna mawAAidaka bimalkina walakinna hummilna awzaran min zeenati alqawmi faqathafnaha fakathalika alqa alssamiriyyu

and forged the shape of a calf which lowed like an ox. Then the people cried out, â€œThis is your god and the god of Moses. Moses has forgotten it."

Moses said, â€œWell, get away! now you shall have to say throughout your life: â€œTouch me not" And there is an appointed time for your reckoning which is inevitable. And just have a look at your god which you cherished so much: now We will burn it and shatter it and cast the ashes into the sea."

Translit: Qala faithhab fainna laka fee alhayati an taqoola la misasa wainna laka mawAAidan lan tukhlafahu waonthur ila ilahika allathee thalta AAalayhi AAakifan lanuharriqannahu thumma lanansifannahu fee alyammi nasfan

O people, your God is Allah alone Who has no other god beside Him: His knowledge embraces everything.

Translit: Innama ilahukumu Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa wasiAAa kulla shayin AAilman

On that Day the people will come straight to the call of the summoner; no one will dare show any haughtiness, and all the voices will be hushed before the Merciful and you will hear nothing but a whispering murmur.

Translit: Yawmaithin yattabiAAoona alddaAAiya la AAiwaja lahu wakhashaAAati alaswatu lilrrahmani fala tasmaAAu illa hamsan

Translation:

He is fully aware of all that is before the people and of all that is behind them but others do not have full knowledge of it.

Translit: YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yuheetoona bihi AAilman

So, high and exalted is Allah, the True King. And see that you do not hasten to recite the Qur"an before its revelation is completed to you, and pray, "O my Lord, give me more of knowledge."

Translit: FataAAala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu wala taAAjal bialqurani min qabli an yuqda ilayka wahyuhu waqul rabbi zidnee AAilman

Therefore O Muhammad, endure what they say and glorify your Lord with His praise before the rising of the sun and before its setting, and glorify Him during the hours of the night and at the extremes of the day: perhaps you may feel satisfied.

Translit: Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla ghuroobiha wamin anai allayli fasabbih waatrafa alnnahari laAAallaka tarda

Then, they say, "It is a bundle of incoherent dreams: nay, he himself has invented it: nay, he is a poet; if not, let him bring a sign like the signs with which the former Prophets were sent."

We have not created for a pastime the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them.

Had We meant to make it a plaything and nothing more than this, We would have done it by Ourself.

All that exists in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah:18 and (the angels) who are near Him disdain not to serve Him, nor do they feel wearied:

Translation:

Have they discarded Him and set up other deities? Say to them, O Muhammad, "Bring your authority; here is this Book, which contains Admonition for the people of my time, and there are also those Books which contained Admonition for the former people." But most of these people have no knowledge of the Reality; therefore they have turned away from it.

Translit: Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan qul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru man maAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoona

They say, "The Merciful has offspring." Glory be to Allah!they are His mere servants who have been honored:

Translit: Waqaloo ittakhatha alrrahmanu waladan subhanahu bal AAibadun mukramoona

They said, "What! Are you presenting your real ideas before us, or are you jesting?"

Translit: Qaloo ajitana bialhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeena

They said, "Burn him alive and avenge your gods, if you want to take any action".

Translit: Qaloo harriqoohu waonsuroo alihatakum in kuntum faAAileena

Translation:

And We bestowed judgment and knowledge67 on Lot, and delivered him from that habitation which committed indecent deeds. Indeed, they were a very wicked, perverse and disobedient people.

Translit: Walootan ataynahu hukman waAAilman wanajjaynahu mina alqaryati allatee kanat taAAmalu alkhabaitha innahum kanoo qawma sawin fasiqeena

At that time We guided Solomon to the right decision, though We had bestowed wisdom and knowledge upon both of them. We had subdued to David the mountains and the birds which joined with him in Our praise: It was We Who had done all this.

Translit: Fafahhamnaha sulaymana wakullan atayna hukman waAAilman wasakhkharna maAAa dawooda aljibala yusabbihna waalttayra wakunna faAAileena

We heard his prayer and relieved him of his affliction and gave him back not only those of his family but also as many more with them as a favor from Us so that it may serve as a reminder to Our worshipers.

Translit: Faistajabna lahu fakashafna ma bihi min durrin waataynahu ahlahu wamithlahum maAAahum rahmatan min AAindina wathikra lilAAabideena

Translation:

On that Day, We will roll up the sky as the leaves of paper are rolled up in a written scroll. We will bang forth the creation once again as We had originated it before. This is a promise We have made to Ourself, and We have to fulfill it.

Translit: Yawma natwee alssamaa katayyi alssijlli lilkutubi kama badana awwala khalqin nuAAeeduhu waAAdan AAalayna inna kunna faAAileena

And We have written in the Psalms after the Admonition: "Our righteous servants shall inherit the land."

There are some among the people, who indulge in discussions about Allah without any knowledge and follow every rebellious Satan,

Translit: Wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wayattabiAAu kulla shaytanin mareedin

O people, if you have any doubt about Life after death, you should know that We first created you of clay, then of a sperm-drop then of a clot of blood, then of a lump of flesh, shaped or shapeless. ( We are telling you this) so that We may make the reality plain to you. And We make those (sperm drops), which We will, remain in the wombs for a fixed period, then We bring you forth as a child; then (We nourish you) so that you may attain to your full youth. And there may be among you one who is recalled earlier and one who is returned to the most abject age so that he should know nothing even after knowing all he could. And you see the land lying dry and barren, but as soon as We send down rain water upon it, it stirs (to life), and swells and brings forth every kind of luxuriant vegetation.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu in kuntum fee raybin mina albaAAthi fainna khalaqnakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma min AAalaqatin thumma min mudghatin mukhallaqatin waghayri mukhallaqatin linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fee alarhami ma nashao ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflan thumma litablughoo ashuddakum waminkum man yutawaffa waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likayla yaAAlama min baAAdi AAilmin shayan watara alarda hamidatan faitha anzalna AAalayha almaa ihtazzat warabat waanbata

There are still others who arrogantly dispute about Allah without any knowledge and guidance and illuminating Book,

Translit: Wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan wala kitabin muneerin

so that they may lead people astray from Allah's Way. Such a one shall incur disgrace in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection, We will make him taste the torment of the Fire,

Translit: Thaniya AAitfihi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahi lahu fee alddunya khizyun wanutheequhu yawma alqiyamati AAathaba alhareeqi

He invokes those who are more likely to do him harm than good. What an evil guardian he chooses and what an evil companion!

Translit: YadAAoo laman darruhu aqrabu min nafAAihi labisa almawla walabisa alAAasheeru

Recall to mind the time when We assigned the site of this House (the Ka`bah) to Abraham, saying, "Do not associate anything as a partner with Me; keep My House clean and pure for those who go round it and for those who stand and bow down and prostrate (in worship),

Translit: Waith bawwana liibraheema makana albayti an la tushrik bee shayan watahhir baytiya lilttaifeena waalqaimeena waalrrukkaAAi alssujoodi

so that they may witness the benefits that have been made available here for them: and during the known appointed days, they should mention the name of Allah over the cattle He has provided them: then they may eat their flesh and also give of it to the indigent and needy.

Translit: Liyashhadoo manafiAAa lahum wayathkuroo isma Allahi fee ayyamin maAAloomatin AAala ma razaqahum min baheemati alanAAami fakuloo minha waatAAimoo albaisa alfaqeera

This was (the object for which the Ka`bah was built,) and whoso observes the sanctity of the things ordained by Allah, it will be best for him in the sight of his Lord. And the cattle have been made lawful for you except what has already been mentioned to you; therefore guard yourselves against the filth of idols, and refrain from all false things.

Translit: Thalika waman yuAAaththim hurumati Allahi fahuwa khayrun lahu AAinda rabbihi waohillat lakumu alanAAamu illa ma yutla AAalaykum faijtaniboo alrrijsa mina alawthani waijtaniboo qawla alzzoori

This is the fact of the matter: (so understand it well.) And whoso observe the sanctity of what have been ordained as Symbols of Allah, do so because of the piety of the hearts.

Translit: Thalika waman yuAAaththim shaAAaira Allahi fainnaha min taqwa alquloobi

Translation:

And We have included the camels (dedicated for sacrifice) among the Symbols of Allah, for there is much good for you in them. Therefore make them stand and mention the name of Allah over them, and when (after the sacrifice,) their backs lie still on the ground, you may eat of their flesh and give of it to the contented ones and to those who ask for it. Thus have We subjected these animals to you so that you may be grateful.

Translit: Waalbudna jaAAalnaha lakum min shaAAairi Allahi lakum feeha khayrun faothkuroo isma Allahi AAalayha sawaffa faitha wajabat junoobuha fakuloo minha waatAAimoo alqaniAAa waalmuAAtarra kathalika sakhkharnaha lakum laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

These people are demanding of you to hasten the chastisement.92 Allah will never fail to fulfill His threat, but a day with your Lord is equal to a thousand years as you reckon.

Translit: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wainna yawman AAinda rabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoona

Translation:

and so that those who have knowledge may realize that this (Message) is the Truth from Allah and may believe in it, and their hearts may submit humbly to it. Most surely Allah always guides the Believers to the Straight Way.

Translit: WaliyaAAlama allatheena ootoo alAAilma annahu alhaqqu min rabbika fayuminoo bihi fatukhbita lahu quloobuhum wainna Allaha lahadi allatheena amanoo ila siratin mustaqeemin

They worship, besides Allah, those for whom He has sent down no authority nor they themselves have any knowledge about them. Such transgressors have no helper.

Translit: WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan wama laysa lahum bihi AAilmun wama lilththalimeena min naseerin

who spend their Zakat dues in appropriate ways:

Translit: Waallatheena hum lilzzakati faAAiloona

Translation:

then changed the sperm drop into a clot of blood and the clot into a piece of flesh: then turned the piece of flesh into bones: then clothed the bones with flesh, and then brought him forth as quite a different creation (from the embryo). So blessed is Allah, the best of all creators.

Translit: Thumma khalaqna alnnutfata AAalaqatan fakhalaqna alAAalaqata mudghatan fakhalaqna almudghata AAithaman fakasawna alAAithama lahman thumma anshanahu khalqan akhara fatabaraka Allahu ahsanu alkhaliqeena

In fact, there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We give you as a drink of that which is in their bellies, and besides this you get other benefits from them: you eat their flesh
