Remember: You grumbled: "O Moses, we cannot endure one and the same sort of food. Pray your Lord to bring for us the products of the earth green herbs, vegetables, corn, garlic, onions, pulses and the like." Moses replied: "What! would you exchange that which is meaner for that which is nobler? Well, go and live in a town and you will get there what you demand." By and by, they became so degraded that disgrace and humiliation, misery and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they incurred Allahs wrath. That was because they began to reject the Revelations of Allah78 and kill His Messengers without any just cause; that was the consequence of their disobedience and their persistent transgression against the Law.

Translit: wa ith qultum ya moosa lan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidin faodAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimma tunbitu alardu min baqliha wa qiththaiha wa foomiha wa AAadasiha wa basaliha qala atastabdiloona allathee huwa adna biallathee huwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fainna lakum ma saaltum wa duribat AAalayhimu alththillatu wa almaskanatu wabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalika biannahum kanoo yakfuroona biayati Allahi wa yaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalika bima AAasaw wa kanoo yaAAtadoona

Again they said, "Pray your Lord to specify for us the kind of cow that is required; for cows (of this type) look alike to us. We shall then find her, if God so wills."

Translit: Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya inna albaqara tashabaha AAalayna wainna in shaa Allahu lamuhtadoona

Translation:

But even after seeing these Signs your hearts hardened and became as hard as rocks; nay, even harder than rocks. For there are some rocks out of which springs gush forth, and others which split open, and water issues out of them; then there are some which tumble down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you are doing.

Say to them, "Whoever is enemy to Gabriel, should understand that he has, by Allahs command, revealed to your heart the Quran which confirms what was revealed before it, and brings Guidance and glad tidings to the Believers.

(If their enmity to Gabriel is due to this, let them understand that) whoever is enemy to Allah, His Angels, His Messengers, Gabriel and Michael, Allah is enemy to such disbelievers."

He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth: when He decrees a thing, He merely says, "Be," and there it is.

Translation:

Now, who else can have aversion to the way of Abraham but the one who has debased himself with folly and ignorance? Abraham was the man whom We chose for Our service in this world, and in the Next World he shall be among the righteous.

Translit: Waman yarghabu AAan millati ibraheema illa man safiha nafsahu walaqadi istafaynahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena

Translation:

Then if they believe the way you have believed, they have the right guidance,and if they turn away from this, it will become obvious that they are obdurate. Therefore, rest assured that Allah will suffice to defend you against them: He hears everything and knows every thing. "We believe in Allah and the Guidance which has been sent down to us and which was sent to Abraham, Ismail , Isaac and Jacob and his descendants and which was given by their Lord to Moses and Jesus and to all other Prophets. We do not discriminate against any of them136 and we have completely surrendered to Allah as Muslims."

Translit: Fain amanoo bimithli ma amantum bihi faqadi ihtadaw wain tawallaw fainnama hum fee shiqaqin fasayakfeekahumu Allahu wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

Translation:

We have seen you (O Muhammad), turning your face over and over again towards Heaven. Now, therefore, We turn you towards the qiblah that you like best: so turn your face towards the Masjid Haram. Henceforth, wheresoever you may be, turn your face at prayer towards it.146 The people who were given the Book know it well that the commandment (about the change of qiblah) is in fact from their Lord, and is based on the Truth, but Allah is not unaware of what they are doing (in spite of this)

Translit: Qad nara taqalluba wajhika fee alssamai falanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaha fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu ma kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu wainna allatheena ootoo alkitaba layaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma yaAAmaloona

As for those to whom We gave the Book, they recognise the place (which has now been made qiblah), as clearly as they recognise their own children. But some of them are knowingly concealing the truth.

Translit: Allatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yaAArifoonahu kama yaAArifoona abnaahum wainna fareeqan minhum layaktumoona alhaqqa wahum yaAAlamoona

Indeed Safa and Marwah are among the emblems of Allah: it is, therefore, no sin for him, who performs Hajj or `Umrah to the House of AIIah, to run between the two hills; and Allah knows and appreciates him who does any good with a willing heart.

Then if those, who heard the will, change it, they themselves shall bear the sin of this. Allah hears everything and knows everything.

If, however, they desist from fighting (you should also do likewise), and know that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Translation:

The months for Hajj are well known to all; whoever makes up his mind to perform Hajj during these fixed months, let him totally abstain from all sorts of sexual indulgence, wickedness and wrangling during the Hajj and remember that Allah knows whatever good you do. Take necessary provisions for Hajj, and piety is the best of all provisions: so refrain from disobeying Me, O men of understanding!

Translit: Alhajju ashhurun maAAloomatun faman farada feehinna alhajja fala rafatha wala fusooqa wala jidala fee alhajji wama tafAAaloo min khayrin yaAAlamhu Allahu watazawwadoo fainna khayra alzzadi alttaqwa waittaqooni ya olee alalbabi

Ask the children of Israel how many a clear sign We have shown to them: (also ask them) what a severe chastisement Allah inflicts on the community that, after receiving Allahs favour exchanges it (for wretchdness).

Translit: Sal banee israeela kam ataynahum min ayatin bayyinatin waman yubaddil niAAmata Allahi min baAAdi ma jaathu fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

The people ask, "What should we spend?" Tell them, "Whatever you spend, spend for your parents, your relatives, orphans, the needy and the wayfarer; and whatever good you do, Allah has knowledge of it.

Those who take an oath to keep apart from their wives are given four months (for a final decision),245 Then if they resume their relations, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

And when Saul marched out with his army, he warned: "Allah is going to put you to a test by the side of a river: whoso drinks of its water shall cease to be my companion: he alone shall be~my companion who does not quench his thirst with its water: one may, however, take except a few, drank their fill of it. Afterwards when Saul, and those who had believed with him, crossed the river and advanced forward, the former said to Saul, "We have no power left this day to fight against Goliath and his hosts." But those who believed that one Day they shall meet Allah, declared, "lt has often been that a small host has, by Allahs grace, overcome a big host: for Allah is with those who show fortitude."

Translit: Falamma fasala talootu bialjunoodi qala inna Allaha mubtaleekum binaharin faman shariba minhu falaysa minnee waman lam yatAAamhu fainnahu minnee illa mani ightarafa ghurfatan biyadihi fashariboo minhu illa qaleelan minhum falamma jawazahu huwa waallatheena amanoo maAAahu qaloo la taqata lana alyawma bijaloota wajunoodihi qala allatheena yathunnoona annahum mulaqoo Allahi kam min fiatin qaleelatin ghalabat fiatan katheeratan biithni Allahi waAllahu maAAa alssabireena

These are Allahs revelations, which We are conveying to you accurately. And O Muhammad, most surely you are of those who have been sent as Messengers.

Translation:

Have you not considered the case of the person who had an argument with Abraham290 as to `Whom Abraham acknowledged as his Lord? The dispute arose because Allah had given him the kingship, (which had made him arrogant). When Abraham said, "My Lord is He Who gives life and causes death," he answered, "I give life and cause death." Then Abraham said, "Well, Allah brings the sun from the east: just bring it from the west." At this the disbeliever was confounded: (yet he did not believe), for Allah does not show guidance to unjust people.

Translit: Alam tara ila allathee hajja ibraheema fee rabbihi an atahu Allahu almulka ith qala ibraheemu rabbiya allathee yuhyee wayumeetu qala ana ohyee waomeetu qala ibraheemu fainna Allaha yatee bialshshamsi mina almashriqi fati biha mina almaghribi fabuhita allathee kafara waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translation:

Call to mind the other event also, when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how Thou bringest the dead back to life?" He said "Have you no faith in this?" Abraham humbly replied, "I do believe but I ask this to reassure my heart." Allah said, "Well, take four birds and tame them with yourself and then (cut them into pieces) and place a piece of each of them on each hill. Then call them and they will come running to you; know this for certain that Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise."

Translit: Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi arinee kayfa tuhyee almawta qala awalam tumin qala bala walakin liyatmainna qalbee qala fakhuth arbaAAatan mina alttayri fasurhunna ilayka thumma ijAAal AAala kulli jabalin minhunna juzan thumma odAAuhunna yateenaka saAAyan waiAAlam anna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun

Surely Allah knows whatever you may have spent and whatever vow you may have made, and the wrong-doers (who spend in the way of Satan) shall have no helpers.

Translit: Wama anfaqtum min nafaqatin aw nathartum min nathrin fainna Allaha yaAAlamuhu wama lilththalimeena min ansarin

Translation:

Those who are engaged so much in the cause of Allah that they cannot move about in the land to earn their livelihood and are, therefore, in straitened circumstances, specially deserve help. An ignorant person would suppose them to be well off because of their self-respect; you can know their real condition from their faces, for they are not the ones who would beg of people with importunity. And Allah will surely know whatever you will spend on them.

Translit: Lilfuqarai allatheena ohsiroo fee sabeeli Allahi la yastateeAAoona darban fee alardi yahsabuhumu aljahilu aghniyaa mina alttaAAaffufi taAArifuhum biseemahum la yasaloona alnnasa ilhafan wama tunfiqoo min khayrin fainna Allaha bihi AAaleemun

Translation:

If you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe to write the document, then transact your business on the security of a pledge in hand. And, if any one transacts a piece of business with another merely on trust, then the one who is trusted should fulfil his trust and fear Allah, his Lord And never conceal evidence for he who conceals it, has a sinful heart: Allah knows everything that you do.

Translit: Wain kuntum AAala safarin walam tajidoo katiban farihanun maqboodatun fain amina baAAdukum baAAdan falyuaddi allathee itumina amanatahu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahu wala taktumoo alshshahadata waman yaktumha fainnahu athimun qalbuhu waAllahu bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun

Translation:

Indeed, Islam is the only right way of life in the sight of Allah. Those who were given the Book, had adopted ways different from this Way for no other reason than to enable themselves to behave unjustly towards one another, after knowledge had come to them; they should know that Allah is very prompt at reckoning with those who deny and reject His Commandments and Guidance.

Translit: Inna alddeena AAinda Allahi alislamu wama ikhtalafa allatheena ootoo alkitaba illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum waman yakfur biayati Allahi fainna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

Translation:

Now, if they dispute with you, tell them, "As for me and my followers, we have surrendered to Allah." Then ask those, who possess the Book and those who do not, "Have you also surrendered to Him"? If they have surrendered, they are rightly guided. But if they turn away (you need not worry), for your sole responsibility was to convey the Message. As to the consequence, Allah Himself watches closely what His servants do.

Translit: Fain hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootoo alkitaba waalommiyyeena aaslamtum fain aslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wain tawallaw fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi

Also say to them, "Obey Allah and His Messenger." And if, in spite of this, they do not accept your invitation, (warn them that) Allah does not love those who refuse to obey Him and His Messenger.

Hearing this, Mary said, "How, O Lord, shall I have a son, when no man has ever touched me?" "Thus shall it be," was the answer. Allah creates whatever He wills. When He decrees a thing, He only says, "Be" and it is.

These narratives are absolutely true and the fact is that there is no deity save Allah; indeed Allah is All Mighty and All-Wise.

Then if they turn away (from accepting the challenge) it will be a clear proof of their mischief and Allah has full knowledge of the mischief-makers.

Nay, Allah loves only such pious people who fulfil their Covenant and abstain from evil.

Translation:

There are among them some people, who, in reading the Book, twist their tongues in a way to make you think that what they read is a part of the Book, whereas, in fact it is not a part of the Book. They also assert, "What we are reading is from Allah," when in fact it is not from Allah. They knowingly ascribe the lie to Allah.

Translit: Wainna minhum lafareeqan yalwoona alsinatahum bialkitabi litahsaboohu mina alkitabi wama huwa mina alkitabi wayaqooloona huwa min AAindi Allahi wama huwa min AAindi Allahi wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona

However, those who repent after this and mend their ways will be redeemed; Allah is Forgiving and Compassionate.

Translit: Illa allatheena taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

You can never attain piety unless you spend (in the way of Allah) of what you love; surely Allah will have full knowledge of what you spend.

Translation:

In it are clear Signs: there is the spot where Abraham used to worship: then it is the sanctuary, and whoso enters it becomes safe and secure. Allah has, therefore, a right on the people that the one, who can afford to reach the house, should perform Haj there: and the one who disobeys (this Commandment should know that) Allah is All-Sufficient and does not stand in need of any creature of the worlds.

Translit: Feehi ayatun bayyinatun maqamu ibraheema waman dakhalahu kana aminan walillahi AAala alnnasi hijju albayti mani istataAAa ilayhi sabeelan waman kafara fainna Allaha ghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena

Allah has told you this so that you may rejoice and your hearts be filled with peace: victory and succour come from Allah alone, Who is All-Powerful, All-Wise.

(O Prophet,) you have no authority to decide the affair: Allah alone has the authority to pardon them or punish them for they are workers of iniquity.

Since every being shall taste death, all of you shall get your full recompense on the Day of Resurrection. Then only that one will be truly successful, who escapes from the Hell-fire and is admitted to the Garden. As regards the life of this world, it is (as it appears); merely a thing that deceives.

Translit: Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wainnama tuwaffawna ojoorakum yawma alqiyamati faman zuhziha AAani alnnari waodkhila aljannata faqad faza wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori

Translation:

O Muslims, you shall surely be tried in your possessions and in your selves; you shall hear many hurtful things from those who were given the Book before you and from those who associate other gods with Allah. But if you show fortitude, and fear Allah under all circumstances, this will be (a proof of) constancy of purpose.

Translit: Latublawunna fee amwalikum waanfusikum walatasmaAAunna mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum wamina allatheena ashrakoo athan katheeran wain tasbiroo watattaqoo fainna thalika min AAazmi alomoori

And there are some even among the people of the Book, who believe in Allah and in the Book which has been sent down to you and in the Scripture which was sent down to themselves before this; they humble themselves before Allah and do not barter away Allahs Revelation for paltry worldly gains; they will have their reward from their Lord; for Allah is very swift in settling accounts.

Translit: Wainna min ahli alkitabi laman yuminu biAllahi wama onzila ilaykum wama onzila ilayhim khashiAAeena lillahi la yashtaroona biayati Allahi thamanan qaleelan olaika lahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim inna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

Translation:

Well, there are among you such as shirk fight; if a disaster befalls you, they say, "Allah has been very gracious to us that we did not accompany these people."

Translit: Wainna minkum laman layubattianna fain asabatkum museebatun qala qad anAAama Allahu AAalayya ith lam akun maAAahum shaheedan

Translation:

Show no weakness in pursuing these people: if you are suffering hardship, they, too, are suffering hardship as you are suffering. Moreover, you are expecting to receive from Allah that which they are not expecting. Allah knows everything and is All Wise.

Translit: Wala tahinoo fee ibtighai alqawmi in takoonoo talamoona fainnahum yalamoona kama talamoona watarjoona mina Allahi ma la yarjoona wakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeeman

But if one earns some evil (and does not repent), this earning of his will bring due punishment on him, for Allah is All Knowing, All-Wise.

Translation:

They ask your verdict concerning women. Say. Allah gives His verdict concerning them, and along with it reminds you of those Commandments which have already been told you in this Book, that is, the Commandments concerning those orphan girls whom you do not give their lawful rights and whom you do not wish to marry (or. whom you yourselves desire to marry for greed). He also reminds you of the Commandments concerning those children who are weak and helpless. Allah enjoins you to deal justly with orphans: Allah has full knowledge of whatever good you do.

Translit: Wayastaftoonaka fee alnnisai quli Allahu yufteekum feehinna wama yutla AAalaykum fee alkitabi fee yatama alnnisai allatee la tutoonahunna ma kutiba lahunna watarghaboona an tankihoohunna waalmustadAAafeena mina alwildani waan taqoomoo lilyatama bialqisti wama tafAAaloo min khayrin fainna Allaha kana bihi AAaleeman

When a woman fears ill-treatment or aversion from her husband, there is no harm if the two make peace between themselves(by means of a compromise); after all peace is the best thing. Human souls are prone to narrow-mindedness, but if you show generosity and fear Allah in your dealings, you may rest assured that Allah will be fully aware of all that you do

it is not within your power to be perfectly equitable in your treatment with all your wives, even if you wish to be so; therefore, (in order to satisfy the dictates of Divine Law) do not lean wholly towards one wife so as to leave the other in a state of suspense. If you behave righteously and fear Allah, you will find Allah Forgiving and Compassionate.

Translit: Walan tastateeAAoo an taAAdiloo bayna alnnisai walaw harastum fala tameeloo kulla almayli fatatharooha kaalmuAAallaqati wain tuslihoo watattaqoo fainna Allaha kana ghafooran raheeman

Translation:

And everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. We enjoined those whom We gave the Book before you and now enjoin you also, to fear Allah in all your dealings. But if you reject this, (you will do so at your own peril, for) Allah is the owner of everything in the heavens and the earth: He does not stand in need of anyone and is worthy of all praise.

Translit: Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi walaqad wassayna allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum waiyyakum ani ittaqoo Allaha wain takfuroo fainna lillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wakana Allahu ghaniyyan hameedan

O Believers, be you the standard-bearers of justice and witnesses for the sake of Allah, even though your justice and your evidence might be harmful to yourselves, or to your parents, or to your relatives. It does not matter whether the party concerned is rich or poor: Allah is their greater well-wisher than you; therefore, do not follow your own desire lest you should deviate from doing justice. If you distort your evidence or refrain from the truth, know it well that Allah is fully aware of what you do.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo koonoo qawwameena bialqisti shuhadaa lillahi walaw AAala anfusikum awi alwalidayni waalaqrabeena in yakun ghaniyyan aw faqeeran faAllahu awla bihima fala tattabiAAoo alhawa an taAAdiloo wain talwoo aw tuAAridoo fainna Allaha kana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran

Translation:

who make the disbelievers their friends instead of the Believers. Do they go to the disbelievers to seek honor? Whereas, in fact, all honor belongs to Allah alone.

Translit: Allatheena yattakhithoona alkafireena awliyaa min dooni almumineena ayabtaghoona AAindahumu alAAizzata fainna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan

Translation:

(Though you are allowed to give expression to evil words, if you have been wronged,) yet if you go on doing good openly and secretly or at least refrain from evil, you should know that Allah is Forgiving, whereas He is All-Powerful to punish.

Translit: In tubdoo khayran aw tukhfoohu aw taAAfoo AAan sooin fainna Allaha kana AAafuwwan qadeeran

Translation:

they themselves bragged, "We have slain Jesus, son of Mary, a Messenger of Allah." Whereas in fact, they did not slay him nor did they crucify him but the matter was made dubious for them. And those who have differed about this matter are also in doubt concerning it. They have no knowledge of it but they follow mere conjectures, for it is certain that they did not kill Jesus.

Translit: Waqawlihim inna qatalna almaseeha AAeesa ibna maryama rasoola Allahi wama qataloohu wama salaboohu walakin shubbiha lahum wainna allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi lafee shakkin minhu ma lahum bihi min AAilmin illa ittibaAAa alththanni wama qataloohu yaqeenan

Translation:

O people, this Messenger has come to you with the Truth from your Lord, so believe in him, for it will be better for yourselves; but if you disbelieve, you should know that all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaakumu alrrasoolu bialhaqqi min rabbikum faaminoo khayran lakum wain takfuroo fainna lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi wakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeeman

Translation:

They replied, "O Moses, in that land dwell mighty people; therefore we are never going to enter it till they leave it; if, however, they leave it we are ready to enter it.

Translit: Qaloo ya moosa inna feeha qawman jabbareena wainna lan nadkhulaha hatta yakhrujoo minha fain yakhrujoo minha fainna dakhiloona

Translation:

" Among those, who were filled with fear, there were two persons whom Allah had blessed with His favor: they said, "Make your way into the gate against those mighty people; when you enter it, you will surely be victorious. Trust in Allah, if you are true believers."

Translit: Qala rajulani mina allatheena yakhafoona anAAama Allahu AAalayhima odkhuloo AAalayhimu albaba faitha dakhaltumoohu fainnakum ghaliboona waAAala Allahi fatawakkaloo in kuntum mumineena

Translation:

Allah replied, "Very well, they are forbidden this land for forty years, during which period they shall wander homeless on the earth: so do not grieve at all for these disobedient people.

Translit: Qala fainnaha muharramatun AAalayhim arbaAAeena sanatan yateehoona fee alardi fala tasa AAala alqawmi alfasiqeena

Translation:

But whoever repents after his iniquity and reforms himself, Allah will surely turn towards him with His favor; Allah is Forgiving and Compassionate.

Translit: Faman taba min baAAdi thulmihi waaslaha fainna Allaha yatoobu AAalayhi inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

So, O Muhammad, judge between these people by the Law that has been sent down to you and do not follow their wishes: be on your guard lest these people should tempt you away, even in the least, from the Guidance that has been sent down to you by Allah. If they turn away from it, then know that Allah wills to involve them in trouble in consequence of some of their sins. And the fact is that the majority of these people are transgressors.

Translit: Waani ohkum baynahum bima anzala Allahu wala tattabiAA ahwaahum waihtharhum an yaftinooka AAan baAAdi ma anzala Allahu ilayka fain tawallaw faiAAlam annama yureedu Allahu an yuseebahum bibaAAdi thunoobihim wainna katheeran mina alnnasi lafasiqoona

Translation:

O Believers, do not take the Jews nor the Christians as your friends: they are one anothers friends only. If anyone of you takes them as friends, surely he shall be counted among them; indeed Allah deprives the wrong-doers of His Guidance.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo alyahooda waalnnasara awliyaa baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin waman yatawallahum minkum fainnahu minhum inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translation:

And whoever makes Allah and His Messenger and the Believers his friends, let him know that Allahs party will surely come out victorious.

Translit: Waman yatawalla Allaha warasoolahu waallatheena amanoo fainna hizba Allahi humu alghaliboona

Translation:

They replied, "We only wish to eat of this tray so that our hearts may be re-assured and we may know it for certain that what you have said to us is true, and that we may bear witness to it."

Translit: Qaloo nureedu an nakula minha watatmainna quloobuna wanaAAlama an qad sadaqtana wanakoona AAalayha mina alshshahideena

Translation:

Now, if You punish them, they are your own servants, and if You forgive them, You are All-powerful and All Wise."

Translit: In tuAAaththibhum fainnahum AAibaduka wain taghfir lahum fainnaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Translation:

Ask them, "Whose testimony is the most reliable?" Say "Allah is witness between me and you (that I am His Messenger), and this Quran has been revealed to me so that I should thereby warn you and all whom it may reach. What, will you really testify that there are other deities besides Allah?" Say, "As for me, I will never testify such a thing." Say, "Indeed, He alone is the Deity and I feel disgusted with the shirk you practice."

Translit: Qul ayyu shayin akbaru shahadatan quli Allahu shaheedun baynee wabaynakum waoohiya ilayya hatha alquranu lionthirakum bihi waman balagha ainnakum latashhadoona anna maAAa Allahi alihatan okhra qul la ashhadu qul innama huwa ilahun wahidun wainnanee bareeon mimma tushrikoona

Translation:

As a matter of fact, they will say this because the Reality which they had concealed before this, will have appeared manifest before them. But the fact is that even if they were sent back to the earthly life, they would do all that they had been forbidden to do. They are liars (that is why they will give vent to such a false wish).

Translit: Bal bada lahum ma kanoo yukhfoona min qablu walaw ruddoo laAAadoo lima nuhoo AAanhu wainnahum lakathiboona

Translation:

O Muhammad, We know that what they say, grieves you, but it is not you whom they charge with falsehood; these wicked people are, in fact, denying the Revelations of Allah.

Translit: Qad naAAlamu innahu layahzunuka allathee yaqooloona fainnahum la yukaththiboonaka walakinna alththalimeena biayati Allahi yajhadoona

Translation:

And why should you not eat that thing over which Allahs name has been mentioned when He has already given you explicit knowledge of those things which He has forbidden for you, except in a case of extreme helplessness? as As regards the majority of the people, they, following their caprices, say misleading things without any knowledge. Your Lord best knows these transgressors.

Translit: Wama lakum alla takuloo mimma thukira ismu Allahi AAalayhi waqad fassala lakum ma harrama AAalaykum illa ma idturirtum ilayhi wainna katheeran layudilloona biahwaihim bighayri AAilmin inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu bialmuAAtadeena

Translation:

And do not eat the flesh of the animal over which Allahs name has not been mentioned at the time of slaughter; this indeed is sinful. The satans put doubts and objections into the minds of their friends, so that they should dispute with you, but if you obey them, you are surely mushrikin.

Translit: Wala takuloo mimma lam yuthkari ismu Allahi AAalayhi wainnahu lafisqun wainna alshshayateena layoohoona ila awliyaihim liyujadilookum wain ataAAtumoohum innakum lamushrikoona

Translit: Qul la ajidu fee ma oohiya ilayya muharraman AAala taAAimin yatAAamuhu illa an yakoona maytatan aw daman masfoohan aw lahma khinzeerin fainnahu rijsun aw fisqan ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna rabbaka ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

And We prohibited to those people, who had adopted Judaism, all animals with claws and the fat of oxen and goats except what is on their backs or their entrails or what sticks to their bones; this was the punishment We had inflicted on them for their rebellion. And We are telling the truth.

Translit: WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna kulla thee thufurin wamina albaqari waalghanami harramna AAalayhim shuhoomahuma illa ma hamalat thuhooruhuma awi alhawaya aw ma ikhtalata biAAathmin thalika jazaynahum bibaghyihim wainna lasadiqoona

Translation:

It is He, Who has made you the vicegerents on the earth, and raised some of you above others in ranks so that He may test you in what He has given you. Indeed your Lord is swift in inflicting punishment: yet He is also very Forgiving and Merciful."

Translit: Wahuwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa alardi warafaAAa baAAdakum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyabluwakum fee ma atakum inna rabbaka sareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

The chiefs of his people who rejected his Message, answered, "We clearly see that you are of unsound mind and we think that you are a liar."

Translit: Qala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee safahatin wainna lanathunnuka mina alkathibeena

Translation:

Pharaoh answered, "Yes, indeed, and you shall get a position close to me"

Translit: Qala naAAam wainnakum lamina almuqarrabeena

Translation:

Then the chiefs of Pharaohs nation said to him, "Will you leave Moses and his people free to spread disorder in the land, and let them discard your service and that of your deities?" Pharaoh answered, "Well, I will have their sons slain and let their women live: we have a strong hold over them."

Translit: Waqala almalao min qawmi firAAawna atatharu moosa waqawmahu liyufsidoo fee alardi wayatharaka waalihataka qala sanuqattilu abnaahum wanastahyee nisaahum wainna fawqahum qahiroona

Translation:

And recall the time when your Lord declared, "I will set over the Israelites over and over again up to the Day of Resurrection, people who should inflict upon them the severest torment." Your Lord, indeed, is swift in retribution, and He is indeed also Forgiving and Merciful.

Translit: Waith taaththana rabbuka layabAAathanna AAalayhim ila yawmi alqiyamati man yasoomuhum sooa alAAathabi inna rabbaka lasareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

(Now in regard to the spoils the same thing is happening again which happened when) your Lord had brought you forth from your home with the Truth, for some of the Believers were very much averse to it:

Translit: Kama akhrajaka rabbuka min baytika bialhaqqi wainna fareeqan mina almumineena lakarihoona

Translation:

Allah told you this thing only as a good news for you, and to comfort your hearts: although succor is always from Allah: indeed Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise.

Translit: Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra walitatmainna bihi quloobukum wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun

Translation:

This is because they have opposed Allah and His Messenger; whoso opposes Allah and His Messenger, surely Allah is very severe for him in retribution.

Translit: Thalika biannahum shaqqoo Allaha warasoolahu waman yushaqiqi Allaha warasoolahu fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

O Believers, fight with the disbelievers till there is no more mischief and the way of life prescribed by Allah is established in its entirety.

Translit: Waqatiloohum hatta la takoona fitnatun wayakoona alddeenu kulluhu lillahi faini intahaw fainna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona baseerun

Translation:

Recall the time when you were on this side of the valley and they were encamped on the farther side and the caravan was below you (towards the coast). If you had made an engagement with them to fight, you would surely have evaded it (but there was a fight): so that Allah might accomplish what He had ordained, and that whoever had to perish should perish with a clear sign and whoever deserved to live, should live with a clear sign: indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All Knowing.

Translit: Ith antum bialAAudwati alddunya wahum bialAAudwati alquswa waalrrakbu asfala minkum walaw tawaAAadtum laikhtalaftum fee almeeAAadi walakin liyaqdiya Allahu amran kana mafAAoolan liyahlika man halaka AAan bayyinatin wayahya man hayya AAan bayyinatin wainna Allaha lasameeAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

At the same time, the hypocrites and all those who had diseased hearts were saying: "Their Faith has made them crazy," whereas the fact is that whoso trusts in Allah (finds that) Allah is All Mighty and All-Wise.

Translit: Ith yaqoolu almunafiqoona waallatheena fee quloobihim maradun gharra haolai deenuhum waman yatawakkal AAala Allahi fainna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun

Translation:

And if they intend to deceive you, Allah is sufficient for you. It is He Who strengthened you with His succor, and by means of the Believers.

Translit: Wain yureedoo an yakhdaAAooka fainna hasbaka Allahu huwa allathee ayyadaka binasrihi wabialmumineena

Translation:

There is such a one among them, who says, "Give me leave to stay behind and do not expose me to temptations." ---Note it well that such people have already succumbed to temptations and Hell has encircled these disbelievers.

Translit: Waminhum man yaqoolu ithan lee wala taftinnee ala fee alfitnati saqatoo wainna jahannama lamuheetatun bialkafireena

Translation:

They will take solemn oaths before you to satisfy you, but even if you accept their excuses. Allah will never accept the excuses of the evil-doers.

Translit: Yahlifoona lakum litardaw AAanhum fain tardaw AAanhum fainna Allaha la yarda AAani alqawmi alfasiqeena

Translation:

(Then behold that) none but a few youths from his own people obeyed and followed Moses because of the fear of Pharaoh and their own chiefs; for they apprehended that Pharaoh would afflict them with a torment. And the fact is that Pharaoh was mighty in the land: indeed he was one of those who do not hesitate to transgress any limit.

Translit: Fama amana limoosa illa thurriyyatun min qawmihi AAala khawfin min firAAawna wamalaihim an yaftinahum wainna firAAawna laAAalin fee alardi wainnahu lamina almusrifeena

Translation:

Now We will preserve your dead body only to be a sign of warning for the succeeding generations, though there are many people who give no heed to Our Signs."

Translit: Faalyawma nunajjeeka bibadanika litakoona liman khalfaka ayatan wainna katheeran mina alnnasi AAan ayatina laghafiloona

Translation:

And do not invoke beside Allah any being that can neither do you good nor harm: for if you will do so, you shall be one of the workers of iniquity.

Translit: Wala tadAAu min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuka wala yadurruka fain faAAalta fainnaka ithan mina alththalimeena

Translation:

O Muhammad, tell them, "O mankind! the Truth has come to you from your Lord. Now, whosoever follows the Right way, he does so for his own good, and whosoever goes astray, he does so to bring about his own ruin; and I am not a keeper over you. "

Translit: Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaakumu alhaqqu min rabbikum famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wama ana AAalaykum biwakeelin

Translation:

So he began to build the Ark. And whoso of the chiefs of his people passed by him, he jeered at him. Noah said, "Laugh at us, if you will; we. too, are laughing at you; for soon you shall come to know who is visited by the torment that will disgrace him, and who is afflicted with the inevitable and lasting calamity."

Translit: WayasnaAAu alfulka wakullama marra AAalayhi malaon min qawmihi sakhiroo minhu qala in taskharoo minna fainna naskharu minkum kama taskharoona

Translation:

Noah called out to his Lord, saying, "My Lord! My son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely true and Thou art the greatest and the best of all rulers."

Translit: Wanada noohun rabbahu faqala rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wainna waAAdaka alhaqqu waanta ahkamu alhakimeena

Translation:

They replied "O Salih, till now you were such a person among us of whom we had great expectations. What! do you forbid us to worship gods whom our forefathers worshiped? Indeed we have a strong doubt about the way to which you are calling us and this has caused a feeling of distraction in us."

Translit: Qaloo ya salihu qad kunta feena marjuwwan qabla hatha atanhana an naAAbuda ma yaAAbudu abaona wainnana lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoona ilayhi mureebun

Translation:

(At last Our angels said to him), "O Abraham, desist from this now that your Lords decree has been issued and the scourge which cannot be averted by anyone shall overtake them."

Translit: Ya ibraheemu aAArid AAan hatha innahu qad jaa amru rabbika wainnahum ateehim AAathabun ghayru mardoodin

Translation:

They replied, "You know it well that we have no need of your daughters, and you also know what we want. "

Translit: Qaloo laqad AAalimta ma lana fee banatika min haqqin wainnaka lataAAlamu ma nureedu

Translation:

They answered "O Shu`aib! We do not understand much of what you say. Indeed we see that you are a powerless man among us. Had it not been for your family, we would have stoned you to death long before this, for you are not strong enough to prevail over us."

Translit: Qaloo ya shuAAaybu ma nafqahu katheeran mimma taqoolu wainna lanaraka feena daAAeefan walawla rahtuka larajamnaka wama anta AAalayna biAAazeezin

Translation:

So, O Prophet have no doubt concerning the deities they worship for they blindly imitate and worship what their forefathers worshiped before them. And We will give them the full measure of their share without detracting anything from it.

Translit: Fala taku fee miryatin mimma yaAAbudu haolai ma yaAAbudoona illa kama yaAAbudu abaohum min qablu wainna lamuwaffoohum naseebahum ghayra manqoosin

Translation:

We gave the Book to Moses also before this and there arose differences regarding this ( just as they are arising regarding the Book We have given to you.) If a decree had not been made beforehand by your Lord, a judgment would have been passed long before this on those who have created differences.

Translit: Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba faikhtulifa feehi walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum wainnahum lafee shakkin minhu mureebun

Translation:

It is a fact that they are in doubt and uncertainty about this, and it is also a fact that your Lord will give them full measure for their deeds, for He is fully aware of what they are doing.

Translit: Wainna kullan lamma layuwaffiyannahum rabbuka aAAmalahum innahu bima yaAAmaloona khabeerun

Translation:

And practice fortitude, for Allah does not let go waste the reward of those who do good.

Translit: Waisbir fainna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena

Translation:

After this consultation, they said to their father, "Father, why is it that you do not trust in us in regard to Joseph, though we are his sincere well-wishers?

Translit: Qaloo ya abana ma laka la tamanna AAala yoosufa wainna lahu lanasihoona

Translation:

Send him with us tomorrow that he may freely eat and enjoy sport: we will take good care of him."

Translit: Arsilhu maAAana ghadan yartaAA wayalAAab wainna lahu lahafithoona

Translation:

The king questioned the women,44 saying, "What do you say about the incident when you tried to entice Joseph?" They all cried out with one voice, "God protect us! we found no tinge of evil in him. " Then the wife of Al-`Aziz also confessed, "Now that the truth has come to light, it was I who tried to entice him. In fact, he is absolutely in the right."

Translit: Qala ma khatbukunna ith rawadtunna yoosufa AAan nafsihi qulna hasha lillahi ma AAalimna AAalayhi min sooin qalati imraatu alAAazeezi alana hashasa alhaqqu ana rawadtuhu AAan nafsihi wainnahu lamina alssadiqeena

They replied "We will try our very best to persuade his father to send him with us. This we will surely do."

Translit: Qaloo sanurawidu AAanhu abahu wainna lafaAAiloona

Translit: Falamma rajaAAoo ila abeehim qaloo ya abana muniAAa minna alkaylu faarsil maAAana akhana naktal wainna lahu lahafithoona

Translation:

And it so happened that when they entered the city by different gates as their father had advised them the precautionary measure proved ineffective against Allahs will. Of course Jacob had done his best to avert the fear he had in his heart. Indeed he possessed knowledge because of what We had taught him: but most people do not understand the reality of the matter.

Translit: Walamma dakhaloo min haythu amarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahi min shayin illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadaha wainnahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

Translation:

You may inquire from the people of that town and from the caravan in which we traveled back home. We are surely telling the truth."

Translit: Waisali alqaryata allatee kunna feeha waalAAeera allatee aqbalna feeha wainna lasadiqoona

Translation:

This took them by surprise and they cried, "Why! are you indeed Joseph"? He replied, "Yes, I am Joseph, and here is my brother. Allah has been very gracious to us. The fact is that Allah does not let go waste the recompense of such righteous people as practice piety and fortitude."

Translit: Qaloo ainnaka laanta yoosufa qala ana yoosufu wahatha akhee qad manna Allahu AAalayna innahu man yattaqi wayasbir fainna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena

Translation:

Now, if there is anything for you to marvel at, you should marvel at their saying: "What! when we have become dust, shall we then be raised to a new life again?" These are the people who have denied their Lord: they are those who shall have collars around their necks: they shall be the dwellers of Hell and therein they shall dwell for ever.

Translit: Wain taAAjab faAAajabun qawluhum aitha kunna turaban ainna lafee khalqin jadeedin olaika allatheena kafaroo birabbihim waolaika alaghlalu fee aAAnaqihim waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

Translation:

They demand from you the hastening of evil rather than good, though indeed there have been instances of exemplary punishments before them (of the wrath of God on the people who adopted the same attitude.) The fact is that your Lord shows forbearance to the people despite their transgressions, and it is also the fact that your Lord is stern in retribution.

Translit: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wainna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAala thulmihim wainna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

And O Prophet! Rest assured that We will carry out the threat We are holding out to them whether a part of it should happen during your lifetime or We should cause you to die before its fulfillment. Anyhow your duty is only to convey the Message and it is for Us to do the reckoning.

Translit: Wain ma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAAalayna alhisabu

Translation:

And Moses said, "If you prove thankless, you and all the dwellers of the earth know that Allah does not stand in need of any of you, for He is All Sufficient and worthy of all praise by Himself."

Translit: Waqala moosa in takfuroo antum waman fee alardi jameeAAan fainna Allaha laghaniyyun hameedun

Translation:

Has not the story reached you of those who have gone before you of the people of Noah and Ad and Thamud, and of those who came after them? Allah alone knows their number. When their Messengers came to them with plain teachings and manifest Signs, they thrust their hands into their mouths, saying, "We reject the Message with which you have been sent and we have a disquieting doubt about that thing to which you are inviting us."

Translit: Alam yatikum nabao allatheena min qablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheena min baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihim waqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltum bihi wainna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonana ilayhi mureebun

And they set up equals with Allah so that they should lead them astray from the way of Allah. Tell them, "Well, you may enjoy yourselves for a while for ultimately you shall have to return to the Fire of Hell."

Translit: WajaAAaloo lillahi andadan liyudilloo AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAAoo fainna maseerakum ila alnnari

Translation:

Lord! these have turned away many people from the Right Way (and they might turn away my descendants as well. Therefore, only those of them) who follow my way, belong to me, but (I leave to Thee) those who follow a different way from mine, for Thou art very Forgiving and Merciful.

Translit: Rabbi innahunna adlalna katheeran mina alnnasi faman tabiAAanee fainnahu minnee waman AAasanee fainnaka ghafoorun raheemun

As regards this Admonition, it is We Who have sent it down, and We Ourself will preserve it.

Translit: Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wainna lahu lahaafithoona

It is We Who give life and death and We will be the inheritors of all.

Translit: Wainna lanahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoona

Translation:

Most surely your Lord will gather them together for He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.

Translit: Wainna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun

The Lord said, "Get away from here, for you have become accursed:

Translit: Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun

the curse shall rest upon you till the Day of Retribution.".

Allah said, "Well! you are given respite

Translit: Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena

and they shall all be destined for Hell."

Translit: Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena

We tell you the truth that we have come to you with the truth.

Translit: Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona

And the smitten territory still lies on the high way.

Translit: Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin

Translation:

We took vengeance on them. And the ruined habitations of these two Communities lie upon the open highway.

Translit: Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin

Translation:

We have not based the creation of the Earth and the Heavens and everything but truth, and our judgment is sure to come. So O Muhammad, overlook . (their misbehavior) in a gracious manner.

Translit: Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela

Translation:

O Muhammad! howsoever desirous you may be of their guidance, (know) that Allah does not show guidance to those whom He lets go astray, and such people have no helpers.

Translit: In tahris AAala hudahum fainna Allaha la yahdee man yudillu wama lahum min nasireena

These people have no power to frustrate His plans. The fact is that your Lord is very Lenient and Compassionate.

And surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies between filth and blood, that is, pure milk, which is very pleasant to those who drink it.

Translit: Wainna lakum fee alanAAami laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butoonihi min bayni farthin wadamin labanan khalisan saighan lilshsharibeena

But if they give no heed to you, O Muhammad! (you need not worry) for your only responsibility is to convey the plain Message of truth.

Translit: Fain tawallaw fainnama AAalayka albalaghu almubeenu

Translation:

Allah cites the instance of a habitation: it was enjoying a life of peace and security and was receiving its provisions in abundance from every quarter. Hut when it began to show ingratitude towards the favors of Allah, He made its inhabitants taste the consequences of their doings, and inflicted misfortunes of hunger and fear on them.

Translit: Wadaraba Allahu mathalan qaryatan kanat aminatan mutmainnatan yateeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makanin fakafarat bianAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahu libasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanoo yasnaAAoona

Translation:

Allah has forbidden only these things: do not eat what dies of itself nor blood nor swine flesh nor what has been slaughtered in any name other than Allah. But if forced by hunger one eats of any of these forbidden things, provided he has no intention of breaking the Divine Law or of transgressing the limits by taking more than what is absolutely indispensable, one may expect mercy, for Allah is very Forgiving and very Compassionate.

Translit: Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

Allah blessed him with goodness in this world and most surely he will be among the righteous in the Hereafter.

Translit: Waataynahu fee alddunya hasanatan wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena

Translation:

As regards the Sabbath, We imposed this on those who differed about its observance. Surely your Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection about all those things in which they have been differing.

Translit: Innama juAAila alssabtu AAala allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi wainna rabbaka layahkumu baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona

Translation:

Whosoever adopts the righteous way, his righteous conduct will be for his own good, and whosoever goes astray, his deviation shall bring its consequences on him. No bearer will bear the burden of another. And We do not inflict punishment until We have sent a Messenger (to make Truth distinct from falsehood.)

Translit: Mani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wama kunna muAAaththibeena hatta nabAAatha rasoolan

Translation:

Your Lord best knows what is in your minds. if you live righteously, He surely forgives and turns towards all such people as are penitent and obedient.

Translit: Rabbukum aAAlamu bima fee nufoosikum in takoonoo saliheena fainnahu kana lilawwabeena ghafooran

Translation:

They say, "What! shall we really be raised up again into a new creation, when we are reduced to bones and dust?"

Translit: Waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan

Translation:

Allah replied, "Well, get away. Hell is your ample reward and the reward of those who follow you.

Translit: Qala ithhab faman tabiAAaka minhum fainna jahannama jazaokum jazaan mawfooran

Translation:

This is their recompense, for they rejected Our Signs and said, "What! shall we really be raised up anew, when we have been reduced to bones and dust?"

Translit: Thalika jazaohum biannahum kafaroo biayatina waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan

In the end, We will turn all that is in it into a bare plain.

Translit: Wainna lajaAAiloona ma AAalayha saAAeedan juruzan

It does not behoove God to beget a son for He is far above this. When He decrees a thing, He only says, "Be", and it does come into being.

(And Jesus had declared) "Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him; this is the Right Way."

So, O Muhammad, We have made this Qur'an easy, and sent it down in your tongue so that you should give good news to the pious and warn the obdurate people.

Translit: Fainnama yassarnahu bilisanika litubashshira bihi almuttaqeena watunthira bihi qawman luddan

Whether you utter your supplication in a loud voice (it makes no difference) for He hears not only what is said in a low voice but also what is kept most secret.

Translit: Wain tajhar bialqawli fainnahu yaAAlamu alssirra waakhfa

In fact, for the one who comes before his Lord as a criminal, there shall be Hell, wherein he shall neither live nor die.

Translit: Innahu man yati rabbahu mujriman fainna lahu jahannama la yamootu feeha wala yahya

He said, â€œWell, listen! We put your people to a trial after you and the Samiri has misled them."

Translit: Qala fainna qad fatanna qawmaka min baAAdika waadallahumu alssamiriyyu

Aaron had already warned the people, saying, "O people, you have been involved in mischief by this (calf) In fact, your Lord is Rahman, so follow me and submit to me."

Translit: Walaqad qala lahum haroonu min qablu ya qawmi innama futintum bihi wainna rabbakumu alrrahmanu faittabiAAoonee waateeAAoo amree

Translation:

Moses said, â€œWell, get away! now you shall have to say throughout your life: â€œTouch me not" And there is an appointed time for your reckoning which is inevitable. And just have a look at your god which you cherished so much: now We will burn it and shatter it and cast the ashes into the sea."

Whoso will turn away from it, he shall bear a heavy burden of sin on the Day of Resurrection;

and whoso will turn away from My Admonition, he shall have a wretched life in the world, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."

Then whosoever does good deeds, and he is a believer as well, his work will not be treated slightingly: We are recording it all.

O people, if you have any doubt about Life after death, you should know that We first created you of clay, then of a sperm-drop then of a clot of blood, then of a lump of flesh, shaped or shapeless. ( We are telling you this) so that We may make the reality plain to you. And We make those (sperm drops), which We will, remain in the wombs for a fixed period, then We bring you forth as a child; then (We nourish you) so that you may attain to your full youth. And there may be among you one who is recalled earlier and one who is returned to the most abject age so that he should know nothing even after knowing all he could. And you see the land lying dry and barren, but as soon as We send down rain water upon it, it stirs (to life), and swells and brings forth every kind of luxuriant vegetation.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu in kuntum fee raybin mina albaAAthi fainna khalaqnakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma min AAalaqatin thumma min mudghatin mukhallaqatin waghayri mukhallaqatin linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fee alarhami ma nashao ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflan thumma litablughoo ashuddakum waminkum man yutawaffa waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likayla yaAAlama min baAAdi AAilmin shayan watara alarda hamidatan faitha anzalna AAalayha almaa ihtazzat warabat waanbata

Translation:

This is the fact of the matter: (so understand it well.) And whoso observe the sanctity of what have been ordained as Symbols of Allah, do so because of the piety of the hearts.

Translit: Thalika waman yuAAaththim shaAAaira Allahi fainnaha min taqwa alquloobi

Translation:

Permission (to fight) has been granted to those against whom war has been waged because they have been treated unjustly, and Allah is certainly able to help them.

Translit: Othina lillatheena yuqataloona biannahum thulimoo wainna Allaha AAala nasrihim laqadeerun

Translation:

Have they not gone about in the land so as to make their hearts think and ears hear? The fact, however, is that it is the hearts in the breasts and not the eyes that become blind.

Translit: Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fatakoona lahum quloobun yaAAqiloona biha aw athanun yasmaAAoona biha fainnaha la taAAma alabsaru walakin taAAma alquloobu allatee fee alssudoori

Translation:

These people are demanding of you to hasten the chastisement.92 Allah will never fail to fulfill His threat, but a day with your Lord is equal to a thousand years as you reckon.

Translit: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wainna yawman AAinda rabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoona

(He allows this) so that He may make Satan's obstacles a trial for those, whose hearts suffer from the disease (of hypocrisy) and whose hearts are false--the fact is that these unjust people have gone far away in their enmity-

Translit: LiyajAAala ma yulqee alshshaytanu fitnatan lillatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalqasiyati quloobuhum wainna alththalimeena lafee shiqaqin baAAeedin

Translation:

and so that those who have knowledge may realize that this (Message) is the Truth from Allah and may believe in it, and their hearts may submit humbly to it. Most surely Allah always guides the Believers to the Straight Way.

Translit: WaliyaAAlama allatheena ootoo alAAilma annahu alhaqqu min rabbika fayuminoo bihi fatukhbita lahu quloobuhum wainna Allaha lahadi allatheena amanoo ila siratin mustaqeemin

Translation:

As for those, who left their homes for the sake of Allah and then were killed or died, Allah will make for them a generous provision) and Allah is the best of Providers.

Translit: Waallatheena hajaroo fee sabeeli Allahi thumma qutiloo aw matoo layarzuqannahumu Allahu rizqan hasanan wainna Allaha lahuwa khayru alrraziqeena

He will admit them to a place with which they will be well pleased; indeed Allah is All-Knowing and Clement.

Translit: Layudkhilannahum mudkhalan yardawnahu wainna Allaha laAAaleemun haleemun

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth and undoubtedly Allah is All-Sufficient and All-Praiseworthy.

except with regard to their wives and those women who are legally in their possession, for in that case they shall not be blame-worthy,

Translit: Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena

Translation:

And We sent down rain from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth and We are able to take it away as We will.

Translit: Waanzalna mina alssamai maan biqadarin faaskannahu fee alardi wainna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroona

Translation:

In fact, there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We give you as a drink of that which is in their bellies, and besides this you get other benefits from them: you eat their flesh

Translit: Wainna lakum fee alanAAami laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butooniha walakum feeha manafiAAu katheeratun waminha takuloona

And you all belong to one and the same community, and I am your Lord: so fear Me.

Translit: Wainna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatan waana rabbukum faittaqooni

As a matter of fact, you are inviting them to the Straight Path,

Translit: Wainnaka latadAAoohum ila siratin mustaqeemin

Translation:

but it suits those, who do not believe, in the Hereafter, to deviate from the Straight Path.

Translit: Wainna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati AAani alssirati lanakiboona

Translation:

They say, "Shall we be raised up again, when we have turned into dust after death and become mere bones?

Translit: Qaloo aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona

Translation:

The fact is that We have brought the Truth before them and undoubtedly these people are liars.

Translit: Bal ataynahum bialhaqqi wainnahum lakathiboona

Translation:

And the fact is that We have the power to make you a witness of what they are being threatened with.

Translit: Wainna AAala an nuriyaka ma naAAiduhum laqadiroona

Translation:

Our Lord, now take us out of this place: after this, if we be guilty of such a thing, we shall indeed be wrong-doers."

Translit: Rabbana akhrijna minha fain AAudna fainna thalimoona

Translation:

Therefore, if some one invokes any other deity along with Allah, whereof he has no proof, he shall have to give an account to his Lord. Such disbelievers can never attain "success."

Translit: Waman yadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara la burhana lahu bihi fainnama hisabuhu AAinda rabbihi innahu la yuflihu alkafiroona

except those who repent and reform themselves; Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Translit: Illa allatheena taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

O Believers, do not follow in Satan's footsteps, for he will incite to indecency and wickedness any who will follow him. If Allah had not shown His Brace and mercy to you, none of you would have been able to cleanse yourself, for it is Allah alone Who cleanses whom He wills, and Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytani waman yattabiAA khutuwati alshshaytani fainnahu yamuru bialfahshai waalmunkari walawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu ma zaka minkum min ahadin abadan walakinna Allaha yuzakkee man yashao waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

Translation:

And those, who cannot find a match, should observe continence till Allah provides them with means out of His bounty And if those who are in your possession, ask for a deed of emancipation, execute the deed of emancipation with them, provided that you find some good in them; and give them something out of the means Allah has given you. And do not force your slave-girls into prostitution for your own worldly gains when they themselves want to keep chaste; and if anyone forces them into it, after such a compulsion Allah will be forgiving and merciful for them.

Translit: WalyastaAAfifi allatheena la yajidoona nikahan hatta yughniyahumu Allahu min fadlihi waallatheena yabtaghoona alkitaba mimma malakat aymanukum fakatiboohum in AAalimtum feehim khayran waatoohum min mali Allahi allathee atakum wala tukrihoo fatayatikum AAala albighai in aradna tahassunan litabtaghoo AAarada alhayati alddunya waman yukrihhunna fainna Allaha min baAAdi ikrahihinna ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

Say, "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, you should note it well that the Messenger is responsible for the duty entrusted to him and you are responsible for the duty entrusted to you. If you obey him, you will be rightly guided, for the responsibility of the Messenger is only to convey the Message clearly to you.

Translit: Qul ateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola fain tawallaw fainnama AAalayhi ma hummila waAAalaykum ma hummiltum wain tuteeAAoohu tahtadoo wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeena

In fact, the one who repents and does righteous deeds, returns to Allah as one rightly should.

Translit: Waman taba waAAamila salihan fainnahu yatoobu ila Allahi mataban

When the magicians arrived for the contest, they said to Pharaoh, "Shall we have rewards if we win?"

He replied, "Of course,and then you will be included among those nearest to me."

Translit: Qala naAAam wainnakum ithan lamina almuqarrabeena

who have provoked us much;

and we are a host who are always on our guard."

They are all enemies to me, except One Lord of the worlds,

And (O Muhammad), you are most surely receiving this Qur'an from the One, Who is All Wise, All-Knowing.

Translit: Wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin

It is from Solomon, and it begins with the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

Translit: Innahu min sulaymana wainnahu bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

Translation:

He who possessed knowledge of the Book, spoke out, "I will fetch it to you in the twinkling of an eye." As soon as Solomon saw the throne placed before him, he exclaimed: "This is by the Grace of my Lord so that He may test me (to see) whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And the one who is grateful is grateful only for the good of his own self; as for the one who is ungrateful, my Lord is All-Sufficient and Self-Exalted."

Translit: Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun

Translation:

They said to one another, "Let us pledge on an oath by Allah that we shall attack Salih and his household by night, and then tell his guardian that we were not even present at the time his family were killed: we are telling the truth."

Translit: Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahi lanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi ma shahidna mahlika ahlihi wainna lasadiqoona

Do you leave women and seek men for the gratification of your sexual desire? The fact is that you are a people steeped in ignorance."

Translit: Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun tajhaloona

The disbelievers say, "When we and our forefathers have become dust, shall we be really raised up from the graves?

Translit: Waqala allatheena kafaroo aitha kunna turaban waabaona ainna lamukhrajoona

The fact is that your Lord is highly Gracious to the people, but most of them are not grateful.

Translit: Wainna rabbaka lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona

Translation:

No doubt your Lord knows fully well what they keep hidden in their breasts and what they reveal.

Translit: Wainna rabbaka layaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona

Translation:

and this is a Guidance and a Mercy for the believers.

Translit: Wainnahu lahudan warahmatun lilmumineena

Translation:

and to recite the Qur'an." Now whosoever follows the guidance, will follow it for his own good, and to him who goes astray, say, "I am only a warner."

Translit: Waan atluwa alqurana famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla faqul innama ana mina almunthireena

Whoever expects to meet Allah (should know that) Allah's appointed time is about to come, and Allah hears everything and knows everything.

Translit: Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahi fainna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

Whoever will exert will exert for his own good. Allah is certainly Independent of all His creations.

Translit: Waman jahada fainnama yujahidu linafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena

And We bestowed on him (children like) Isaac and Jacob, and placed in his progeny the Prophethood and the Book, and give him his reward in, this world, and in the Hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.

Translit: Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi alnnubuwwata waalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena

Translation:

What! Do you go to the males, and commit robbery and indulge in indecencies in your assemblies?" Then the only answer his people gave was to say, "Bring forth the torment of Allah if you are truthful."

Translit: Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala wataqtaAAoona alssabeela watatoona fee nadeekumu almunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo itina biAAathabi Allahi in kunta mina alssadiqeena

Translation:

The likeness of those who have taken other patrons than Allah, is the likeness of a spider, which makes itself a dwelling; and the weakest of all dwellings is the dwelling of a spider. Would that these people had knowledge!73

Translit: Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona

They say, "Why have Signs not been sent down upon this person from his Lord?" Say, "The Signs are with Allah: I am only a plain warner."

Translit: Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun

Translation:

They challenge you to hasten the torment, whereas Hell has encircled the disbelievers,

Translit: YastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi wainna jahannama lamuheetatun bialkafireena

Translation:

And the life of this world is nothing but a sport and a pastime! The home of real life is the Hereafter. Would that they knew!

Translit: Wama hathihi alhayatu alddunya illa lahwun walaAAibun wainna alddara alakhirata lahiya alhayawanu law kanoo yaAAlamoona

Translation:

Those who will strive in Our cause, We shall guide them to Our own paths, and surely Allah is with the righteous.

Translit: Waallatheena jahadoo feena lanahdiyannahum subulana wainna Allaha lamaAAa almuhsineena

Translation:

Have they never reflected in their own selves? Allah has created the earth and the heavens and all that lies between them, with the truth, and only for an appointed term; but most people disbelieve in the meeting with their Lord.

Translit: Awalam yatafakkaroo fee anfusihim ma khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi waajalin musamman wainna katheeran mina alnnasi biliqai rabbihim lakafiroona

Translation:

(O Prophet,) you cannot make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf to hear your call, when they show their backs and turn away

Translit: Fainnaka la tusmiAAu almawta wala tusmiAAu alssumma aldduAAaa itha wallaw mudbireena

Translation:

We had bestowed wisdom on Luqman that he may be grateful to Allah. Whoever is grateful, his gratefulness is for his own good, and whoever is ungrateful, then Allah is indeed Self-Sufficient and Self-Praiseworthy.

Translit: Walaqad atayna luqmana alhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna Allaha ghaniyyun hameedun

Translation:

And the people say, "When we have become dust, shall we be created again?" The fact is that they disbelieve in the meeting with their Lord. "

Translit: Waqaloo aitha dalalna fee alardi ainna lafee khalqin jadeedin bal hum biliqai rabbihim kafiroona

Translation:

But if you seek Allah and His Messenger and the abode of the Hereafter, you should rest assured that Allah has prepared a great reward for those of you who do good."

Translit: Wain kuntunna turidna Allaha warasoolahu waalddara alakhirata fainna Allaha aAAadda lilmuhsinati minkunna ajran AAatheeman

Translation:

Whether you reveal something or conceal it, Allah has full knowledge of everything.

Translit: In tubdoo shayan aw tukhfoohu fainna Allaha kana bikulli shayin AAaleeman

Translation:

(O Prophet), ask them, "Who gives you sustenance from the Heavens and the earth?" Say, "Allah Only either we or you are on the Right Way or in manifest error."

Translit: Qul man yarzuqukum mina alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu wainna aw iyyakum laAAala hudan aw fee dalalin mubeenin

Translation:

Say "If I have gone astray, the burden of my going astray is on myself alone, and if I am on right guidance, it is by virtue of what my Lord reveals to me. He hears everything and is - near at hand."

Translit: Qul in dalaltu fainnama adillu AAala nafsee waini ihtadaytu fabima yoohee ilayya rabbee innahu sameeAAun qareebun

Translation:

(Can the deviation of that person be imagined) whose evil deed is made seem fair to him and he deems it as good? The fact is that Allah leads astray whomsoever He pleases and shows the Right Way to whomsoever He pleases. So, (O Prophet,) let not yourself be consumed with grief for the sake of these people. Allah is aware of whatever they are doing.

Translit: Afaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi faraahu hasanan fainna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao fala tathhab nafsuka AAalayhim hasaratin inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yasnaAAoona

Translation:

No bearer of a burden will bear another's burden, and if a laden soul cries out for help, none will come forward to share the least of its burden, even though it be the nearest kinsman. (O Prophet,) you can only warn those who fear their Lord though they cannot see Him, and establish the Salat. Whoever adopts purity does so for his own good, and to Allah shall all return.

Translit: Wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wain tadAAu muthqalatun ila himliha la yuhmal minhu shayon walaw kana tha qurba innama tunthiru allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi waaqamoo alssalata waman tazakka fainnama yatazakka linafsihi waila Allahi almaseeru

Translation:

If Allah were to seize the people for their misdeeds, He would not have left alive any living being on the earth. But He is giving them respite till an appointed time. So, when the appointed time comes, Allah will Himself see His servants.

Translit: Walaw yuakhithu Allahu alnnasa bima kasaboo ma taraka AAala thahriha min dabbatin walakin yuakhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman faitha jaa ajaluhum fainna Allaha kana biAAibadihi baseeran

Translation:

What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be raised up to life?

Translit: Aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona

Translation:

There will only be a single shout and suddenly they will be seeing (all of which they are being warned) with their own eyes.

Translit: Fainnama hiya zajratun wahidatun faitha hum yanthuroona

So, on that Day they shall all share the torment.

Translit: Fainnahum yawmaithin fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona

Translation:

and would say, "Should we give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?"

Translit: Wayaqooloona ainna latarikoo alihatina lishaAAirin majnoonin

Translation:

who used to say, 'Are you also of those who affirm?

Translit: Yaqoolu ainnaka lamina almusaddiqeena

Translation:

What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we really be rewarded and punished?'

Translit: Aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamadeenoona

Translation:

The dwellers of Hell shall eat it and fill their bellies with it.

Translit: Fainnahum laakiloona minha famalioona minha albutoona

Translation:

And Abraham was the one who followed the way of Noah.

Translit: Wainna min sheeAAatihi laibraheema

Translation:

And Elias also was one of the Messengers.

Translit: Wainna ilyasa lamina almursaleena

Translation:

But they treated him as a liar, so they will certainly be presented for punishment,

Translit: Fakaththaboohu fainnahum lamuhdaroona

And Lot also was one of the Messengers.

Translit: Wainna lootan lamina almursaleena

Now you pass by their ruins by day

Translit: Wainnakum latamurroona AAalayhim musbiheena

And indeed Jonah also was one of the Messengers.

Translit: Wainna yoonusa lamina almursaleena

Allah has children." They are utter liars.

Translit: Walada Allahu wainnahum lakathiboona

Therefore you and your gods

Translit: Fainnakum wama taAAbudoona

Translation:

and we are the ranged servants

Translit: Wainna lanahnu alssaffoona

Translation:

and the glorifiers (of Allah)."

Translit: Wainna lanahnu almusabbihoona

Translation:

and Our army alone would be triumphant.

Translit: Wainna jundana lahumu alghaliboona

Translation:

David replied, "This person has certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe to be added to his ewes. And the fact is that the people who live together often wrong one another; the only exception are those who believe and do good works, and they are few. " (While he said this) David realized that We had, in fact, tried him. So he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down prostrate and turned (to Him).

Translit: Qala laqad thalamaka bisuali naAAjatika ila niAAajihi wainna katheeran mina alkhulatai layabghee baAAduhum AAala baAAdin illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waqaleelun ma hum wathanna dawoodu annama fatannahu faistaghfara rabbahu wakharra rakiAAan waanaba

Translation:

Then We forgave him for his error, and certainly he has a place of nearness with Us and an excellent abode!

Translit: Faghafarna lahu thalika wainna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin

Translation:

Surely, he has a place of nearness to Us and an excellent resort.

Translit: Wainna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin

Translation:

Indeed, they are, in Our sight, included among the chosen, the righteous.

Translit: Wainnahum AAindana lamina almustafayna alakhyari

Translation:

This was an admonition. (Now listen:) for the righteous there is indeed an excellent resort:

Translit: Hatha thikrun wainna lilmuttaqeena lahusna maabin

Translation:

This is (the recompense) for the righteous. And for the rebellious, there is a most evil home-

Translit: Hatha wainna lilttagheena lasharra maabin

Translation:

(The Lord) said: "Then get you gone from here. You are accursed,

Translit: Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun

Translation:

and My curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgment."

Translit: Wainna AAalayka laAAnatee ila yawmi alddeeni

Translation:

(The Lord) said: "Well, you are given respite

Translit: Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena

Translation:

If you disbelieve, Allah is independent of you. Yet He does not approve of disbelief for His servants. And if you are thankful, He approves it for you. No bearer will bear the burden of another. Ultimately, all of you have to return to your Lord. Then He will tell you what You have been doing. He knows even the secrets of the hearts.

Translit: In takfuroo fainna Allaha ghaniyyun AAankum wala yarda liAAibadihi alkufra wain tashkuroo yardahu lakum wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra thumma ila rabbikum marjiAAukum fayunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

Translation:

(O Prophet,) you shall die, and they, too, shall die.

Translit: Innaka mayyitun wainnahum mayyitoona

Translation:

(O Prophet:) We have sent down to you for all mankind this Book with the truth. Now whosoever adopts the right way, will do so for his own sake, and whosoever goes astray, will himself bear the burden of his deviation: you are not responsible for them.

Translit: Inna anzalna AAalayka alkitaba lilnnasi bialhaqqi famani ihtada falinafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wama anta AAalayhim biwakeelin

Translation:

O my people! the life of this world is temporary. Only the abode of the Hereafter is everlasting.

Translit: Ya qawmi innama hathihi alhayatu alddunya mataAAun wainna alakhirata hiya daru alqarari

Translation:

He it is Who gives life and ordains death. Whatever He decrees, He only commands it to be and it is.

Translit: Huwa allathee yuhyee wayumeetu faitha qada amran fainnama yaqoolu lahu kun fayakoonu

Translation:

O Prophet, say to them, â€œDo you deny that God, and set up others as equals with Him, Who created the earth in two days? He indeed is the Lord of all creation.

Translit: Qul ainnakum latakfuroona biallathee khalaqa alarda fee yawmayni watajAAaloona lahu andadan thalika rabbu alAAalameena

Translation:

When the Messengers of God came to them from every side, from front and from behind, saying, "Worship none but Allah" , they said, "Had our Lord so willed, He would have sent down angels; therefore, we deny what you have been sent with."

Translit: Ith jaathumu alrrusulu min bayni aydeehim wamin khalfihim alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha qaloo law shaa rabbuna laanzala malaikatan fainna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona

Translation:

These are the people who refused to believe in the Admonition when it came to them. But the fact is that this is a mighty Book.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo bialththikri lamma jaahum wainnahu lakitabun AAazeezun

Translation:

Before this We had given to Moses the Book, and it was similarly disputed. If your Lord had not already decreed a thing, the judgment would have been passed between the disputants. And the fact is that they are involved in an anxious doubt about it.

Translit: Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba faikhtulifa feehi walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum wainnahum lafee shakkin minhu mureebin

Translation:

The people became divided only after the Knowledge had come to them just because they wanted to wrong one another. Had your Lord not already issued the Word to defer their punishment till an appointed time, the matter would surely have been settled between them. And the fact is that those who were made to inherit the Book after them, are involved in a disquieting doubt concerning it.

Translit: Wama tafarraqoo illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika ila ajalin musamman laqudiya baynahum wainna allatheena oorithoo alkitaba min baAAdihim lafee shakkin minhu mureebin

Translation:

Have they set up such associates of God, who have laid down for them a (religious) way of life, which Allah has not permitted? Had the word of judgment not already been issued, their case would long have been settled. Surely for these wrongdoers there is a painful torment.

Translit: Am lahum shurakao sharaAAoo lahum mina alddeeni ma lam yathan bihi Allahu walawla kalimatu alfasli laqudiya baynahum wainna alththalimeena lahum AAathabun aleemun

Translation:

Now if they turn away. We have not sent you, O Prophet, to be a keeper over them. Your only responsibility is to convey the Message. Man is such that when We let him taste Our mercy, he exults at it, and if an evil befalls him in consequence of what his own hands have done before, he turns utterly ungrateful.

Translit: Fain aAAradoo fama arsalnaka AAalayhim hafeethan in AAalayka illa albalaghu wainna itha athaqna alinsana minna rahmatan fariha biha wain tusibhum sayyiatun bima qaddamat aydeehim fainna alinsana kafoorun

Translation:

Even so We have, (O Muhammad), revealed a Spirit to you by Our Command. You did not know at all what was the Book and what Was the Faith, but We made that Spirit a light by which We show the way to any of Our servants We will. You are indeed guiding to the Right Way,

Translit: Wakathalika awhayna ilayka roohan min amrina ma kunta tadree ma alkitabu wala aleemanu walakin jaAAalnahu nooran nahdee bihi man nashao min AAibadina wainnaka latahdee ila siratin mustaqeemin

Translation:

And, in fact, it is inscribed in Umm al-Kitab, a Book truly sublime and full of wisdom with Us.

Translit: Wainnahu fee ommi alkitabi ladayna laAAaliyyun hakeemun

Translation:

and one day we have to return to our Lord."

Translit: Wainna ila rabbina lamunqaliboona

Translation:

Nay! but they say, "We found our forefathers on a way and we are only walking in their footsteps."

Translit: Bal qaloo inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muhtadoona

Translation:

Even so, whenever before you We sent a Warner to a habitation, its people of means said, "We have found our forefathers on a way and we are only following in their footsteps."

Translit: Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muqtadoona

I worship only Him Who created me: He alone will guide me."

Translit: Illa allathee fataranee fainnahu sayahdeeni

Translation:

But when the Truth came to them, they said, "This is a sorcery and we refuse to believe in it."

Translit: Walamma jaahumu alhaqqu qaloo hatha sihrun wainna bihi kafiroona

Translation:

These satans hinder such people from the right way while they think that they are guided aright.

Translit: Wainnahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona

Translation:

Now We have to punish them,whether We take you away from the world,

Translit: Faimma nathhabanna bika fainna minhum muntaqimoona

Translation:

or let you see their end, which We have promised them: We have full power over them.

Translit: Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fainna AAalayhim muqtadiroona

Translation:

The fact is that this Book is a great honor for you and your people, and soon you shall be called to account for it.

Translit: Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona

Translation:

And he is, in fact, a Sign of the Hour; therefore, do not have any doubt about it, and follow Me: this is the Straight Way.

Translit: Wainnahu laAAilmun lilssaAAati fala tamtarunna biha waittabiAAooni hatha siratun mustaqeemun

Translation:

Have they decided to contrive a plan? Well, we too, shall contrive.

Translit: Am abramoo amran fainna mubrimoona

Translation:

O Prophet. We have made this Book easy in your own tongue so that they may take counsel.

Translit: Fainnama yassarnahu bilisanika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

Translation:

They cannot avail you at all against Allah. The wrongdoers are companions of one another and the Companion of the righteous is Allah.

Translit: Innahum lan yughnoo AAanka mina Allahi shayan wainna alththalimeena baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin waAllahu waliyyu almuttaqeena

Translation:

Look, you are being called upon to expend in Allah's Way. Yet some of you are being stingy, whereas the one who is stingy is, in fact, being stingy only to himself. Allah is Self-Sufficient. It is you who are the needy. If you turn away, Allah will replace you by another people, and they will not be like you.

Translit: Haantum haolai tudAAawna litunfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi faminkum man yabkhalu waman yabkhal fainnama yabkhalu AAan nafsihi waAllahu alghaniyyu waantumu alfuqarao wain tatawallaw yastabdil qawman ghayrakum thumma la yakoonoo amthalakum

Translation:

O Prophet, those who were swearing allegiance to you, were indeed swearing allegiance to Allah. Allah"s hand was over their hands. Now whosoever breaks this pledge breaks it at his own peril, and whosoever keeps his pledge that he has made with Allah, Allah will soon grant him a great reward.

Translit: Inna allatheena yubayiAAoonaka innama yubayiAAoona Allaha yadu Allahi fawqa aydeehim faman nakatha fainnama yankuthu AAala nafsihi waman awfa bima AAahada AAalayhu Allaha fasayuteehi ajran AAatheeman

Translation:

Whoever does not believe in Allah and His Messenger, for such disbelievers We have prepared a blazing Fire.

Translit: Waman lam yumin biAllahi warasoolihi fainna aAAtadna lilkafireena saAAeeran

Translation:

and the meting out of the rewards and punishments is inevitable.

Translit: Wainna alddeena lawaqiAAun

Translation:

We have built the heaven with Our own might and We possess the power for it.

Translit: Waalssamaa banaynaha biaydin wainna lamoosiAAoona

Translation:

But go on admonishing them, for the admonition is beneficial for the believers.

Translit: Wathakkir fainna alththikra tanfaAAu almumineena

Translation:

Therefore, those who have done wrong, have also their portion of a similar torment ready as the people like them have been meted out their portions before. So let them not ask Me to hasten.

Translit: Fainna lillatheena thalamoo thanooban mithla thanoobi ashabihim fala yastaAAjiloona

Translation:

And even before that there awaits the wrongdoers another torment, but most of them do not know.

Translit: Wainna lillatheena thalamoo AAathaban doona thalika walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

Translation:

Endure patiently, O Prophet, until your Lord's judgment comes to pass sight. Glorify your Lord with His praise when you rise up,

Translit: Waisbir lihukmi rabbika fainnaka biaAAyunina wasabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoomu

Translation:

although they have no knowledge of this. They follow mere conjecture, and conjecture can avail nothing against the Truth.

Translit: Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wainna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan

Translation:

and used to say, "What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be raised up again?

Translit: Wakanoo yaqooloona aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona

and it is a great oath, only if you knew it-

Translit: Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun

Translation:

Allah it is Who is sending down clear Revelations to His servants that he may bring you out of the darknesses into the light. And the fact is that Allah is most Kind and Most Merciful to you.

Translit: Huwa allathee yunazzilu AAala AAabdihi ayatin bayyinatin liyukhrijakum mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wainna Allaha bikum laraoofun raheemun

Translation:

who are themselves stingy and also urge others to be stingy. Now whosoever turns away (should know that) Allah is All-Sufficient and All-Praiseworthy.

Translit: Allatheena yabkhaloona wayamuroona alnnasa bialbukhli waman yatawalla fainna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

Translation:

Those of you who put away their wives by zihar (should know that) their wives are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave them birth. They utter a monstrous thing and a lie. And Allah is All-Pardoning, All Forgiving.

Translit: Allatheena yuthahiroona minkum min nisaihim ma hunna ommahatihim in ommahatuhum illa allaee waladnahum wainnahum layaqooloona munkaran mina alqawli wazooran wainna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorun

Translation:

O you who have believed, when you consult the Messenger in private, you should give something in charity before your consultation. This is better for you and purer, However, if you do not have the means to give charity, Allah is indeed All-Forgiving, All-Merciful.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha najaytumu alrrasoola faqaddimoo bayna yaday najwakum sadaqatan thalika khayrun lakum waatharu fain lam tajidoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

All this happened because they resisted Allah and His Messenger, and whoever resists Allah (should know that) Allah is stern in inflicting punishment.

Translit: Thalika biannahum shaqqoo Allaha warasoolahu waman yushaqqi Allaha fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

Translation:

There is certainly in the conduct of those people an excellent example for you and for every such person who is hopeful of Allah and the last Day. But whoever turns away from this (should know that) Allah is All-Sufficient and Self-Praiseworthy.

Translit: Laqad kana lakum feehim oswatun hasanatun liman kana yarjoo Allaha waalyawma alakhira waman yatawalla fainna Allaha huwa alghanniyyu alhameedu

Translation:

Say to them, "The death from which you flee will certainly overtake you. Then you will be presented before Him, Who is the Knower of the hidden and the open, and He will tell you what you had been doing."

Translit: Qul inna almawta allathee tafirroona minhu fainnahu mulaqeekum thumma turaddoona ila AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fayunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona

Translation:

Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away from obedience (you should know that the only responsibility of Our Messenger is to convey the Truth clearly and plainly

Translit: WaateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola fain tawallaytum fainnama AAala rasoolina albalaghu almubeenu

Translation:

O you who have believed, some among your wives and your children are your enemies: beware of them. And if you pardon and overlook and forgive, Allah is surely All-Forgiving, All-Merciful.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo inna min azwajikum waawladikum AAaduwwan lakum faihtharoohum wain taAAfoo watasfahoo wataghfiroo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

If you both (women) repent to Allah, (it is better for you), for your hearts have swerved from the right path and if you supported each other against the Prophet, you should know that Allah is his Protector, and after Him Gabriel and the righteous believers and the angels are his companions and helpers.

Translit: In tatooba ila Allahi faqad saghat quloobukuma wain tathahara AAalayhi fainna Allaha huwa mawlahu wajibreelu wasalihu almumineena waalmalaikatu baAAda thalika thaheerun

Say, "The knowledge of it is with Allah, I am only a plain warner."

And We know that there are some among you who deny it.

For such disbelievers it is indeed a cause of despair.

Translit: Wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena

And surely this is the absolute truth.

Translit: Wainnahu lahaqqu alyaqeeni

Except with regard to their wives and those women who are legally in their possession, for in their case they are not blameworthy,

Translit: Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena

My mission is only to convey what I receive from Him and His messages. Now whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger for him awaits the fire of Hell. Such people shall dwell in it for ever.

Translit: Illa balaghan mina Allahi warisalatihi waman yaAAsi Allaha warasoolahu fainna lahu nara jahannama khalideena feeha abadan
