Translation:

who believe in the Book We have sent down to you (i.e. the Quran) and in the Books sent down before you, and firmly believe in the Hereafter.

Translit: Waallatheena yuminoona bima Aunzila ilayka wama Aunzila min qablika wabialakhirati hum yooqinoona

Allah has sealed up their hearts and ears and a covering has fallen over their eyes, and they have incurred the severest punishment.

Then there are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day", whereas they do not believe at all.

They thus try to deceive Allah and the Believers, but they succeed in deceiving none except themselves and they realize it not.

These are the people who have bartered away Guidance for error, but this is a profitless bargain that they have made, and they are not at all on the right way.

Translation:

Or (still another parable may be cited to depict their condition): heavy rain is falling from the sky, accompanied by pitch darkness, thunder and lightning. When they hear the thunderclap, they thrust their fingers into their ears for fear of death, but Allah is encircling the disbelievers on all sides.

Translit: Aw kasayyibin mina alssamai feehi thulumatun waraAAdun wabarqun yajAAaloona asabiAAahum fee athanihim mina alssawaAAiqi hathara almawti waAllahu muheetun bialkafireena

Translation:

The lightning terrifies them as if it were going to snatch away their eyesight from them. When they see light, they move on a little further and When it becomes dark for them, they stand still. Had Allah so willed, He could have deprived them totally of their hearing and their sight. Most surely Allah has power over everything.

Translit: yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahum kullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi wa itha athlama AAalayhim qamoo wa law shaa Allahu lathahaba bisamAAihim wa absarihim inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Translation:

It is He Who has made the earth a bed for you and the sky a canopy; and it is He Who sends down rain from above for the growth of every kind of food products for your sustenance. So, when you know this, you should not set up equals to rank with Allah

Translit: Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda firashan waalssamaa binaan waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum fala tajAAaloo lillahi andadan waantum taAAlamoona

Translation:

And give good news (O Muhammad), to those who believe in this Book and do good deeds (in accordance with its teachings). For them there will be gardens underneath which canals flow. Their fruits will so resemble the fruits on the Earth that every time they will be provided with fruits, they will say, "Such fruits were provided to us before on the Earth. " And there will be pure spouses for them and therein they will live for ever.

Translit: Wabashshiri allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati anna lahum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu kullama ruziqoo minha min thamaratin rizqan qaloo hatha allathee ruziqna min qablu waotoo bihi mutashabihan walahum feeha azwajun mutahharatun wahum feeha khalidoona

Translation:

Well, Allah is not ashamed to cite the similitude of a gnat or of something even more insignificant than this. As for those who believe, they come to know from the same similitude that it is the Revelation from their Lord; but those who disbelieve, say, "What does Allah mean by such similitudes?" Allah leads astray many and guides many to the right way by the same thing. And He leads astray only those who disobey Allah;

Translit: Inna Allaha la yastahyee an yadriba mathalan ma baAAoodatan fama fawqaha faamma allatheena amanoo fayaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim waamma allatheena kafaroo fayaqooloona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan yudillu bihi katheeran wayahdee bihi katheeran wama yudillu bihi illa alfasiqeena

We said, "Now go down, all of you from here. Henceforth there shall come to you Guidance from Me now and again: whoever will follow it shall have neither fear nor sorrow

Translit: Qulna ihbitoo minha jameeAAan faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan faman tabiAAa hudaya fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

But the transgressors perverted the words said to them entirely into a different thing. So We sent down upon the transgressors a severe torment from the sky : that was the punishment for the disobedience they were showing.

Translit: Fabaddala allatheena thalamoo qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faanzalna AAala allatheena thalamoo rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona

Translation:

But inspite of this, you are killing your brethren and driving them out from their homes and making unjust and aggressive alliances against one another. And when they come to you as captives, you trade on their ransoms whereas their expulsion itself was unlawful for you. Do you then believe in one part of the Scriptures and disbelieve in the other?92 What other punishment do such people from among you deserve except an ignominious life in this world and the most grievous doom on the Day of Resurrection? Allah is not unaware of what you are doing.

Translit: Thumma antum haolai taqtuloona anfusakum watukhrijoona fareeqan minkum min diyarihim tathaharoona AAalayhim bialithmi waalAAudwani wain yatookum osara tufadoohum wahuwa muharramun AAalaykum ikhrajuhum afatuminoona bibaAAdi alkitabi watakfuroona bibaAAdin fama jazao man yafAAalu thalika minkum illa khizyun fee alhayati alddunya wayawma alqiyamati yuraddoona ila ashaddi alAAathabi wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

Translation:

And We gave Moses the Book and sent after him a train of Messengers in succession. Then We sent Jesus, son of Mary, with clear Signs and supported him with the Holy Spirit. Then how is it that whenever a Messenger came to you wish that which did not suit your lusts, you grew rebellious against him, and repudiated some and slew others.

Translit: Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba waqaffayna min baAAdihi bialrrusuli waatayna AAeesa ibna maryama albayyinati waayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi afakullama jaakum rasoolun bima la tahwa anfusukumu istakbartum fafareeqan kaththabtum wafareeqan taqtuloona

Has it not always been so that every time they made a covenant, some of them set it aside? Nay, most of them never believe in it sincerely.

Translit: Awakullama AAahadoo AAahdan nabathahu fareequn minhum bal aktharuhum la yuminoona

Translation:

We have seen you (O Muhammad), turning your face over and over again towards Heaven. Now, therefore, We turn you towards the qiblah that you like best: so turn your face towards the Masjid Haram. Henceforth, wheresoever you may be, turn your face at prayer towards it.146 The people who were given the Book know it well that the commandment (about the change of qiblah) is in fact from their Lord, and is based on the Truth, but Allah is not unaware of what they are doing (in spite of this)

Translit: Qad nara taqalluba wajhika fee alssamai falanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaha fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu ma kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu wainna allatheena ootoo alkitaba layaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma yaAAmaloona

Translation:

Indeed Safa and Marwah are among the emblems of Allah: it is, therefore, no sin for him, who performs Hajj or `Umrah to the House of AIIah, to run between the two hills; and Allah knows and appreciates him who does any good with a willing heart.

Translit: Inna alssafa waalmarwata min shaAAairi Allahi faman hajja albayta awi iAAtamara fala junaha AAalayhi an yattawwafa bihima waman tatawwaAAa khayran fainna Allaha shakirun AAaleemun

Translation:

(If they want a sign for the perception of this Reality) surety there are countless signs for those who use their common sense; they can see alternation of the night and day, in the ships that sail the ocean laden with cargoes beneficial to mankind, and in the rain-water which Allah sends down from the sky and thereby gives life to the earth after its death and spreads over it all kinds of animate creatures, in the blowing of the winds and in the clouds which obediently wait for orders between the sky and the earth.

Translit: Inna fee khalqi alssamawati waalardi waikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari waalfulki allatee tajree fee albahri bima yanfaAAu alnnasa wama anzala Allahu mina alssamai min main faahya bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha wabaththa feeha min kulli dabbatin watasreefi alrriyahi waalssahabi almusakhkhari bayna alssamai waalardi laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona

Translation:

Allah has only forbidden you to eat what dies of itself, and blood and swine flesh and what has been consecrated to any other name than of Allah. But one will incur no sin if, forced by absolute necessity, he eats of any of these forbidden things, provided he has no intention of transgressing the law and does not take more than what is absolutely indispensable: for Allah is very Forgiving and very Merciful.

Translit: Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla bihi lighayri Allahi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fala ithma AAalayhi inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

They are the people who have bartered away Guidance for error and Allahs pardon for His punishment. How audacious they are: they are ready even to endure the fire of Hell.

Translit: Olaika allatheena ishtarawoo alddalalata bialhuda waalAAathaba bialmaghfirati fama asbarahum AAala alnnari

Translation:

O Believers, the lawn176 of retribution has been prescribed for you in cases of murder; if a free man commits a murder, the free man shall he punished for it and a slave for a slave : likewise if a woman is guilty of murder the same shall he accountable for it.177 But in case the injured brother178 is willing to show leniency to the murderer, the blood money should he decided in accordance with the common law179 and the murderer should pay it in a genuine way. This is an allowance and mercy from your Lord. Now there shall be a painful torment for anyone who transgresses the limits after this. O men of understanding.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo kutiba AAalaykumu alqisasu fee alqatla alhurru bialhurri waalAAabdu bialAAabdi waalontha bialontha faman AAufiya lahu min akheehi shayon faittibaAAun bialmaAAroofi waadaon ilayhi biihsanin thalika takhfeefun min rabbikum warahmatun famani iAAtada baAAda thalika falahu AAathabun aleemun

Translation:

The Fast is to be observed for a fixed number of days. If, however, anyone of you be sick or on a journey, he should fast the same number of other days. As for those who can fast (but do not), the expiation of this shall be the feeding of one needy person for one fast day, and whoso does more than this with a willing heart does it for his own good. But if you understand the thing, it is better for you to observe the Fast.

Translit: Ayyaman maAAdoodatin faman kana minkum mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara waAAala allatheena yuteeqoonahu fidyatun taAAamu miskeenin faman tatawwaAAa khayran fahuwa khayrun lahu waan tasoomoo khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

Translation:

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down : this Book is a perfect guidance for mankind and consists of clear teachings which show the right way and are a criterion of Truth and falsehood. Therefore from now on whoever witnesses it, it is obligatory on hire to fast the whole month, but if one be ill or on a journey, he should make up for the same number by fasting on other days. Allah desires to show leniency to you and does not desire to show any hardship. "therefore this method is being shown to you so that you may complete the number of Fast days and glorify Allah for the Guidance He has shown to you and be grateful to Him.

Translit: Shahru ramadana allathee onzila feehi alquranu hudan lilnnasi wabayyinatin mina alhuda waalfurqani faman shahida minkumu alshshahra falyasumhu waman kana mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara yureedu Allahu bikumu alyusra wala yureedu bikumu alAAusra walitukmiloo alAAiddata walitukabbiroo Allaha AAala ma hadakum walaAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

A prohibited month is to be respected, if the same is respected (by the enemy), and likewise there is the law of just retribution for the violation of all prohibited things. Therefore, if anyone transgresses a prohibition by attacking you, you may do likewise, but always fear Allah and bear in mind that Allah is with those who desist from breaking Allahs bounds.

Translit: Alshshahru alharamu bialshshahri alharami waalhurumatu qisasun famani iAAtada AAalaykum faiAAtadoo AAalayhi bimithli ma iAAtada AAalaykum waittaqoo Allaha waiAAlamoo anna Allaha maAAa almuttaqeena

Translation:

When you make up your mind to perform Hajj and `Umrah,accomplish these to please Allah. But if you are hemmed in somewhere, then offer to Allah whatever sacrifice you can afford. And do not shave your heads until the sacrifice reaches its place. But whoever among you is sick or has an ailment of the head and has his head shaved shall atone for this either by fasting or by alms-giving or by offering a sacrifice However, when you are secure (and you reach Makkah before the Hajj season begins), whoever takes advantage of this opportunity to perform `Umrah shall offer the sacrifice that he can afford. But if he cannot afford a sacrifice, he shall fast three days during the Hajj season and seven days after reaching home, that is, ten days in all. This concession is only for those whose homes are not near the Masjid Haram, refrain from transgressing these Commandments of Allah and know it well

Translit: Waatimmoo alhajja waalAAumrata lillahi fain ohsirtum fama istaysara mina alhadyi wala tahliqoo ruoosakum hatta yablugha alhadyu mahillahu faman kana minkum mareedan aw bihi athan min rasihi fafidyatun min siyamin aw sadaqatin aw nusukin faitha amintum faman tamattaAAa bialAAumrati ila alhajji fama istaysara mina alhadyi faman lam yajid fasiyamu thalathati ayyamin fee alhajji wasabAAatin itha rajaAAtum tilka AAasharatun kamilatun thalika liman lam yakun ahluhu hadiree almasjidi alharami waittaqoo

Translation:

The months for Hajj are well known to all; whoever makes up his mind to perform Hajj during these fixed months, let him totally abstain from all sorts of sexual indulgence, wickedness and wrangling during the Hajj and remember that Allah knows whatever good you do. Take necessary provisions for Hajj, and piety is the best of all provisions: so refrain from disobeying Me, O men of understanding!

Translit: Alhajju ashhurun maAAloomatun faman farada feehinna alhajja fala rafatha wala fusooqa wala jidala fee alhajji wama tafAAaloo min khayrin yaAAlamhu Allahu watazawwadoo fainna khayra alzzadi alttaqwa waittaqooni ya olee alalbabi

Translation:

So pass these few appointed days in remembering Allah; then there is nothing wrong if one hastens on (from Mina) after two days or stays there (a day) longer, provided that he spends these days in piety. Do not disobey Him and remember that One Day you shall be mustered before Him.

Translit: Waothkuroo Allaha fee ayyamin maAAdoodatin faman taAAajjala fee yawmayni fala ithma AAalayhi waman taakhkhara fala ithma AAalayhi limani ittaqa waittaqoo Allaha waiAAlamoo annakum ilayhi tuhsharoona

Translation:

And when Saul marched out with his army, he warned: "Allah is going to put you to a test by the side of a river: whoso drinks of its water shall cease to be my companion: he alone shall be~my companion who does not quench his thirst with its water: one may, however, take except a few, drank their fill of it. Afterwards when Saul, and those who had believed with him, crossed the river and advanced forward, the former said to Saul, "We have no power left this day to fight against Goliath and his hosts." But those who believed that one Day they shall meet Allah, declared, "lt has often been that a small host has, by Allahs grace, overcome a big host: for Allah is with those who show fortitude."

Translit: Falamma fasala talootu bialjunoodi qala inna Allaha mubtaleekum binaharin faman shariba minhu falaysa minnee waman lam yatAAamhu fainnahu minnee illa mani ightarafa ghurfatan biyadihi fashariboo minhu illa qaleelan minhum falamma jawazahu huwa waallatheena amanoo maAAahu qaloo la taqata lana alyawma bijaloota wajunoodihi qala allatheena yathunnoona annahum mulaqoo Allahi kam min fiatin qaleelatin ghalabat fiatan katheeratan biithni Allahi waAllahu maAAa alssabireena

Translation:

O Believers, do not spoil your charity by taunts and injury to the recipients like the one who practises charity to be seen by men, while he neither believes in Allah nor in the Last Day. His charity may be likened to the rainfall on a rock which had only a thin layer of soil upon it. When heavy rain fell on it, the whole of the soil washed away and the rock was left bare Such people do not gain the reward they imagine they have earned by their seeming charity; Allah does not show the Right Way to the ungrateful.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tubtiloo sadaqatikum bialmanni waalatha kaallathee yunfiqu malahu riaa alnnasi wala yuminu biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri famathaluhu kamathali safwanin AAalayhi turabun faasabahu wabilun fatarakahu saldan la yaqdiroona AAala shayin mimma kasaboo waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alkafireena

Translation:

But those who devour interest become like the one whom Satan has bewitched and maddened by his touch. They have been condemned to this condition because they say, "Trade is just like interestâ€, whereas Allah has made trade lawful and interest unlawfu1. Henceforth, if one abstains from taking interest after receiving this admonition from his Lord, no legal action will be taken against him regarding the interest he had devoured before; his case shall ultimately go to Allah. But if one repeats the same crime after this, . he shall go to Hell, where he shall abide for ever.

Translit: Allatheena yakuloona alrriba la yaqoomoona illa kama yaqoomu allathee yatakhabbatuhu alshshaytanu mina almassi thalika biannahum qaloo innama albayAAu mithlu alrriba waahalla Allahu albayAAa waharrama alrriba faman jaahu mawAAithatun min rabbihi faintaha falahu ma salafa waamruhu ila Allahi waman AAada faolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

Nothing in the Earth or in the heavens is hidden from Allah.

Translit: Inna Allaha la yakhfa AAalayhi shayon fee alardi wala fee alssamai

Translation:

But what will they do when We will gather them together on the Day which is sure to come? On that day, everyone will be paid in full for what one has earned, and none shall be wronged.

Translit: Fakayfa itha jamaAAnahum liyawmin la rayba feehi wawuffiyat kullu nafsin ma kasabat wahum la yuthlamoona

Translation:

So, her Lord very graciously accepted the girl and made her grow up as a good girl and entrusted her to the care of Zacharias. Whenever Zacharias entered the sanctuary to see her, he found some eatables with her; he would ask, "O Mary, whence have these come to you?" She would answer, "It is from Allah: Allah provides without stint for whom He wills."

Translit: Fataqabbalaha rabbuha biqaboolin hasanin waanbataha nabatan hasanan wakaffalaha zakariyya kullama dakhala AAalayha zakariyya almihraba wajada AAindaha rizqan qala ya maryamu anna laki hatha qalat huwa min AAindi Allahi inna Allaha yarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisabin

Translation:

Before this have passed many such Prophets in whose company large bands of worshippers of Allah have fought (in His way); they never lost heart during the adversities that befell them in the way of Allah; nor did they show any weakness; nor did they submit (to falsehood: ) Allah likes the people who show fortitude.

Translit: Wakaayyin min nabiyyin qatala maAAahu ribbiyyoona katheerun fama wahanoo lima asabahum fee sabeeli Allahi wama daAAufoo wama istakanoo waAllahu yuhibbu alssabireena

Translation:

As for those of you who turned their backs on the day the two hosts met, they failed in their duty because Satan had exploited some of their weaknesses and made their footing insecure. Nevertheless Allah pardoned them, for Allah is indeed Forgiving and Forbearing.

Translit: Inna allatheena tawallaw minkum yawma iltaqa aljamAAani innama istazallahumu alshshaytanu bibaAAdi ma kasaboo walaqad AAafa Allahu AAanhum inna Allaha ghafoorun haleemun

Translation:

Allah likes those who trust in Him in whatever they do. If Allah helps you, no power can overcome you, and if He forsakes you, who is there, then, after Him to help you? Therefore, true believers should trust in Allah alone.

Translit: In yansurkumu Allahu fala ghaliba lakum wain yakhthulkum faman tha allathee yansurukum min baAAdihi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona

How can then it be conceivable that the one, who always follows Allahs will, should behave like the one who incurs Allahs wrath and is ultimately doomed to Hell, which is the mast abominable abode?

Translit: Afamani ittabaAAa ridwana Allahi kaman baa bisakhatin mina Allahi wamawahu jahannamu wabisa almaseeru

It was by Allahs leave that you suffered the loss on the day the two armies met so that Allah might test the true believers and also the hypocrites.

Translit: Wama asabakum yawma iltaqa aljamAAani fabiithni Allahi waliyaAAlama almumineena

who, when the people said to them, "Big armies have gathered against you: so fear them," became more firm in their Faith, and answered, "Allah is all sufficient for us, for He is the best Protector."

Translit: Allatheena qala lahumu alnnasu inna alnnasa qad jamaAAoo lakum faikhshawhum fazadahum eemanan waqaloo hasbuna Allahu waniAAma alwakeelu

Translation:

Since every being shall taste death, all of you shall get your full recompense on the Day of Resurrection. Then only that one will be truly successful, who escapes from the Hell-fire and is admitted to the Garden. As regards the life of this world, it is (as it appears); merely a thing that deceives.

Translit: Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wainnama tuwaffawna ojoorakum yawma alqiyamati faman zuhziha AAani alnnari waodkhila aljannata faqad faza wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori

Translation:

And forbidden to you are the wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your hands (as prisoners of war ): this is the Law of Allah that has been prescribed for you. With the exception of the above, it has been made lawful for you to seek in marriage with your wealth any other women provided that you keep them in wedlock and not in licentiousness. Then you should pay them their dowries as an obligation for the enjoyment of conjugal relations with them. However, there is no harm if a compromise is made in the dower by mutual consent after an agreement about it; Allah is All-Knowing, All Wise.

Translit: Waalmuhsanatu mina alnnisai illa ma malakat aymanukum kitaba Allahi AAalaykum waohilla lakum ma waraa thalikum an tabtaghoo biamwalikum muhsineena ghayra musafiheena fama istamtaAAtum bihi minhunna faatoohunna ojoorahunna fareedatan wala junaha AAalaykum feema taradaytum bihi min baAAdi alfareedati inna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeeman

Translation:

Surely We will throw into the Fire those who have rejected Our Revelations; as often as their skins shall be consumed, We will replace them by other skins so that they may taste the torment in full, for Allah is All-Powerful and All-Wise to enforce His decrees.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo biayatina sawfa nusleehim naran kullama nadijat julooduhum baddalnahum juloodan ghayraha liyathooqoo alAAathaba inna Allaha kana AAazeezan hakeeman

Translation:

As to death, it will overtake you wherever you may be, even though you be in fortified towers" If they have good fortune, they say, "This is from Allah," and if they suffer a loss, they say, "This is because of you." Say, "Everything is from Allah." What then has gone wrong with these people that they do not understand anything?

Translit: Aynama takoonoo yudrikkumu almawtu walaw kuntum fee buroojin mushayyadatin wain tusibhum hasanatun yaqooloo hathihi min AAindi Allahi wain tusibhum sayyiatun yaqooloo hathihi min AAindika qul kullun min AAindi Allahi famali haolai alqawmi la yakadoona yafqahoona hadeethan

Translation:

Whoever obeys the Messenger, in fact, obeys Allah and whoever turns away from him (is accountable for his deeds); anyhow We have not sent you to be keeper over them.

Translit: Man yutiAAi alrrasoola faqad ataAAa Allaha waman tawalla fama arsalnaka AAalayhim hafeethan

However, those hypocrites are excepted who join a people who are allied to you by a treaty. Likewise, those hypocrites are excepted who come to you and are averse to fighting either against you of against their own people. Had Allah willed, He would have given them power over you and they also would have fought against you; therefore if they leave you alone and desist from fighting against you and make overtures for peace to you, in that case Allah has left you no cause for aggression against them.

Translit: Illa allatheena yasiloona ila qawmin baynakum wabaynahum meethaqun aw jaookum hasirat sudooruhum an yuqatilookum aw yuqatiloo qawmahum walaw shaa Allahu lasallatahum AAalaykum falaqatalookum faini iAAtazalookum falam yuqatilookum waalqaw ilaykumu alssalama fama jaAAala Allahu lakum AAalayhim sabeelan

Translation:

O Believers, when you go to Jihad in the way of Allah, discern between friend and foe; and if one greets you with a salutation of peace, do not say to him abruptly, "You are not a believer." If you seek worldly gain by this, Allah has abundant spoils for you. (Remember that) you yourselves were before this in the same condition; then Allah showed His grace on you; therefore you should discern well, for Allah is fully aware of what you do.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha darabtum fee sabeeli Allahi fatabayyanoo wala taqooloo liman alqa ilaykumu alssalama lasta muminan tabtaghoona AAarada alhayati alddunya faAAinda Allahi maghanimu katheeratun kathalika kuntum min qablu famanna Allahu AAalaykum fatabayyanoo inna Allaha kana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran

Well, you have argued on their behalf in this worldly life but who will argue their case with Allah on the Day of Resurrection? Or who will be their defender there?

Translit: Haantum haolai jadaltum AAanhum fee alhayati alddunya faman yujadilu Allaha AAanhum yawma alqiyamati am man yakoonu AAalayhim wakeelan

Translation:

If the people of the Book are today asking you to cause a Book to come down upon them from heaven, they have already made even more monstrous demands from Moses. They said to him, "Make us see Allah with our own eyes." As a result of their wickedness, a thunder-bolt smote them all of a sudden. Then they took the calf as the object of their worship, after they had seen clear signs: but even after this, We forgave them. We bestowed upon Moses a clear Commandment

Translit: Yasaluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzila AAalayhim kitaban mina alssamai faqad saaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arina Allaha jahratan faakhathathumu alssaAAiqatu bithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla min baAAdi ma jaathumu albayyinatu faAAafawna AAan thalika waatayna moosa sultanan mubeenan

You are forbidden carrion and blood, the flesh of swine and of that animal which has been slaughtered in any other name than that of Allah, and of the strangled animal, and of that beaten to death or killed by a fall or gored to death or mangled by a beast of prey -save of that you duly slaughtered while it was still alive -and of that which is slaughtered at (un-godly) shrines. It is also unlawful for you to try to find your fortune by means of divining devices, for all these things are sinful acts, Today the disbelievers have despaired of (vanquishing) your religion; therefore do not fear them but fear Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you and completed My blessing on you and approved Islam as the way of life for you, (Therefore observe the limits prescribed by the Law); if, however, one, dying of hunger, eats of any of these forbidden things, provided that he is not incline

Translit: Hurrimat AAalaykumu almaytatu waalddamu walahmu alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi waalmunkhaniqatu waalmawqoothatu waalmutaraddiyatu waalnnateehatu wama akala alssabuAAu illa ma thakkaytum wama thubiha AAala alnnusubi waan tastaqsimoo bialazlami thalikum fisqun alyawma yaisa allatheena kafaroo min deenikum fala takhshawhum waikhshawni alyawma akmaltu lakum deenakum waatmamtu AAalaykum niAAmatee waradeetu lakumu alislama deenan famani idturra fee makhmasatin ghayra mutajanifin liithmin

Translation:

Allah had bound the Israelites by a solemn covenant, and appointed twelve supervisors31 from among them and said, "I am with you; if you establish the Salat, pay the Zakat and believe in My Messengers,32 and support them and give a generous loan to Allah,33 I shall surely wipe out your evils from you,34 and admit you into gardens under which canals flow, But after this whoever from among you adopted the way of disbelief, has indeed gone astray from the Right Way."35

Translit: Walaqad akhatha Allahu meethaqa banee israeela wabaAAathna minhumu ithnay AAashara naqeeban waqala Allahu innee maAAakum lain aqamtumu alssalata waataytumu alzzakata waamantum birusulee waAAazzartumoohum waaqradtumu Allaha qardan hasanan laokaffiranna AAankum sayyiatikum walaodkhilannakum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu faman kafara baAAda thalika minkum faqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli

Indeed they committed blasphemy, who said, "The Messiah, son of Mary, is verily God."O Muhammad, say to them, "If Allah chose to destroy the Messiah, Marys son, and his mother, and all the dwellers of the earth, who has the power to prevent Him from this? For, to Allah belongs the Kingdom of the earth and the heavens and all that is between them: He creates whatever He wills and has power over everything."

Translit: Laqad kafara allatheena qaloo inna Allaha huwa almaseehu ibnu maryama qul faman yamliku mina Allahi shayan in arada an yuhlika almaseeha ibna maryama waommahu waman fee alardi jameeAAan walillahi mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma yakhluqu ma yashao waAllahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Translation:

We had prescribed this decree in the Torah for the Jews: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and for all wounds equal retaliation." However, whoever forgoes retaliation as charity, it shall be expiation for him: those, who do not judge by the Law which Allah has sent down, are indeed the unjust people.

Translit: Wakatabna AAalayhim feeha anna alnnafsa bialnnafsi waalAAayna bialAAayni waalanfa bialanfi waalothuna bialothuni waalssinna bialssinni waaljurooha qisasun faman tasaddaqa bihi fahuwa kaffaratun lahu waman lam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faolaika humu alththalimoona

Translation:

At that time the Believers will say, "Are these the same people who stated upon solemn oaths by Allah that they were with you?" - All their deeds became vain and they ended in utter failure.

Translit: Wayaqoolu allatheena amanoo ahaolai allatheena aqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim innahum lamaAAakum habitat aAAmaluhum faasbahoo khasireena

Translation:

The Jews say that the hands of Allah are chained Nay chained indeed are their own hands and accursed they have become because of the blasphemy they utter Allahs hands are free and He expends in whatever way He wills. The fact is that the Message which has been sent down to you from your Lord has rather increased the rebellion and disbelief of many of them: (as a consequence of this) We have cast between them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it; now they are striving to spread mischief in the world but Allah does not like the mischief makers.

Translit: Waqalati alyahoodu yadu Allahi maghloolatun ghullat aydeehim waluAAinoo bima qaloo bal yadahu mabsootatani yunfiqu kayfa yashao walayazeedanna katheeran minhum ma onzila ilayka min rabbika tughyanan wakufran waalqayna baynahumu alAAadawata waalbaghdaa ila yawmi alqiyamati kullama awqadoo naran lilharbi atfaaha Allahu wayasAAawna fee alardi fasadan waAllahu la yuhibbu almufsideena

Translation:

O Messenger, convey to the people whatever has been sent down to you from your Lord; for, if you do not do this, you will not be doing justice to His Message. Allah will protect you from the mischievous deeds of the people. Rest assured that He will not show the disbelievers the way to success (against you).

Translit: Ya ayyuha alrrasoolu balligh ma onzila ilayka min rabbika wain lam tafAAal fama ballaghta risalatahu waAllahu yaAAsimuka mina alnnasi inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alkafireena

Translation:

We made a solemn covenant with the children of Israel and sent many Messengers to them; but whenever any Messenger came to them with a thing which was against their desires, they either treated him as a liar or slew him:

Translit: Laqad akhathna meethaqa banee israeela waarsalna ilayhim rusulan kullama jaahum rasoolun bima la tahwa anfusuhum fareeqan kaththaboo wafareeqan yaqtuloona

Translation:

When they listen to that which has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflow with tears because of the Truth they recognize therein. They spontaneously say, "Our Lord, we have believed; therefore, write down our names with those who bear witness to it."

Translit: Waitha samiAAoo ma onzila ila alrrasooli tara aAAyunahum tafeedu mina alddamAAi mimma AAarafoo mina alhaqqi yaqooloona rabbana amanna faoktubna maAAa alshshahideena

Translation:

Allah does not take you to task for the inadvertent oaths you swear, but He will surely call you to account for the intentional and deliberate oaths you make. The expiation (of breaking such an oath) is to feed ten indigent persons with the normal food you serve in your own family, or to give them clothes, or to free one slave, and the one who cannot afford any of these let him fast three days. This is the expiation of breaking the solemn oaths you have taken; be mindful of your oaths. Thus Allah makes His Commandments plain to you so that you may show gratitude.

Translit: La yuakhithukumu Allahu biallaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yuakhithukum bima AAaqqadtumu alaymana fakaffaratuhu itAAamu AAasharati masakeena min awsati ma tutAAimoona ahleekum aw kiswatuhum aw tahreeru raqabatin faman lam yajid fasiyamu thalathati ayyamin thalika kaffaratu aymanikum itha halaftum waihfathoo aymanakum kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

O Believers, Allah will put you to a hard trial by that game which will come within the very reach of your hands or lances, in order to see who fears Him even though He is invisible: there shall, therefore, be a painful punishment for those who transgress the limits after this warning.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo layabluwannakumu Allahu bishayin mina alssaydi tanaluhu aydeekum warimahukum liyaAAlama Allahu man yakhafuhu bialghaybi famani iAAtada baAAda thalika falahu AAathabun aleemun

(In regard to the disciples), this incident may also be kept in mind: They said, "O Jesus, son of Mary, can your Lord send down to us from heaven a tray of food?" Jesus said, "Fear Allah, if you are true Believers."

Translit: Ith qala alhawariyyoona ya AAeesa ibna maryama hal yastateeAAu rabbuka an yunazzila AAalayna maidatan mina alssamai qala ittaqoo Allaha in kuntum mumineena

At this, Jesus, son of Mary, prayed, "O Allah, our Lord, send to us from heaven a tray of food that it may become a recurring festival to us, to the first of us and to the last of us, and that it may be a Sign from You. Provide for us and You are the best of providers."

Translit: Qala AAeesa ibnu maryama allahumma rabbana anzil AAalayna maidatan mina alssamai takoonu lana AAeedan liawwalina waakhirina waayatan minka waorzuqna waanta khayru alrraziqeena

Translation:

Allah answered, "I am going to send it down to you, but whoever among you shall disbelieve after that, I will surely give him such a chastisement wherewith I will not have chastised any other creature in the world."

Translit: Qala Allahu innee munazziluha AAalaykum faman yakfur baAAdu minkum fainnee oAAaththibuhu AAathaban la oAAaththibuhu ahadan mina alAAalameena

Translation:

Do they not see that We destroyed before them many a people who were dominant in the world during their time? We had given them such power in the land as We have not given you. We sent down for them abundant rains from heavens and made canals flow beneath them. But (when they showed ingratitude), We destroyed them because of their sins and raised up other people in their place.

Translit: Alam yaraw kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarnin makkannahum fee alardi ma lam numakkin lakum waarsalna alssamaa AAalayhim midraran wajaAAalna alanhara tajree min tahtihim faahlaknahum bithunoobihim waanshana min baAAdihim qarnan akhareena

Translation:

However, if you find it hard to bear their aversion, then seek out, if you can, an opening into the earth, or set up a .ladder to the sky so that you may bring them a Sign. Had Allah willed, He would have gathered them all on guidance; so do not behave like the ignorant people.

Translit: Wain kana kabura AAalayka iAAraduhum faini istataAAta an tabtaghiya nafaqan fee alardi aw sullaman fee alssamai fatatiyahum biayatin walaw shaa Allahu lajamaAAahum AAala alhuda fala takoonanna mina aljahileena

Translation:

O Muhammad, ask them, "Have you ever considered this: If Allah were to take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, is there a deity other than Allah to restore them to you?" Behold! how We present Our Signs before them over and over again, and how they turn away from them in disdain.

Translit: Qul araaytum in akhatha Allahu samAAakum waabsarakum wakhatama AAala quloobikum man ilahun ghayru Allahi yateekum bihi onthur kayfa nusarrifu alayati thumma hum yasdifoona

Translation:

For We send Our Messengers only to give good news to the righteous people and to warn the evil-doers: then those, who accept their Message and reform their own conduct, will have no cause for fear and sorrow

Translit: Wama nursilu almursaleena illa mubashshireena wamunthireena faman amana waaslaha fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

And it is He Who sent down rain-water from the sky and thereby caused every kind of vegetation to grow, and then with it produced green fields and trees and from them brought forth close growing grain and from the blossoms of palm-trees brought forth laden sheaths of clustering dates and vineyards and olive groves and gardens of pomegranates : though their fruits resemble each other yet each has its distinctive quality. Behold how they bring forth fruit and how their fruits ripen. for there are indeed Signs in these things for those who believe.

Translit: Wahuwa allathee anzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi nabata kulli shayin faakhrajna minhu khadiran nukhriju minhu habban mutarakiban wamina alnnakhli min talAAiha qinwanun daniyatun wajannatin min aAAnabin waalzzaytoona waalrrummana mushtabihan waghayra mutashabihin onthuroo ila thamarihi itha athmara wayanAAihi inna fee thalikum laayatin liqawmin yuminoona

Translation:

Behold: Lights of discernment have come to you from your Lord: now, whoever makes use of his sight, will do so to his own good, and whoever behaves like a blind person will do so to his own harm; I am not a keeper over you.

Translit: Qad jaakum basairu min rabbikum faman absara falinafsihi waman AAamiya faAAalayha wama ana AAalaykum bihafeethin

Translation:

So (the fact is that) whomsoever Allah wills to guide aright, He makes his breast wide open to Islam, and whomsoever He wills to let go astray, He makes his breast narrow and squeezes it so tight that (at the very idea of Islam) he begins to feel as if his soul were climbing up towards the sky. Thus Allah sets the impurity (caused by their deviation from the Way of Islam) over those who do not believe,

Translit: Faman yuridi Allahu an yahdiyahu yashrah sadrahu lilislami waman yurid an yudillahu yajAAal sadrahu dayyiqan harajan kaannama yassaAAAAadu fee alssamai kathalika yajAAalu Allahu alrrijsa AAala allatheena la yuminoona

Translation:

These people have assigned a portion to Allah out of the tillage and the cattle He Himself has created, and say, "This is for Allah," so presume they "and this is for the partners we have set up with Him." Then the portion assigned to the partners of their own making does not reach Allah, but that assigned to Allah reaches the partners set up by them. What evil decisions they make!

Translit: WajaAAaloo lillahi mimma tharaa mina alharthi waalanAAami naseeban faqaloo hatha lillahi bizaAAmihim wahatha lishurakaina fama kana lishurakaihim fala yasilu ila Allahi wama kana lillahi fahuwa yasilu ila shurakaihim saa ma yahkumoona

Translation:

Likewise, take a pair of the camel family and a pair of the cow family, and ask them, "Has He of these forbidden the males or the females or the young ones that are in the wombs of the she-camel and the cow?" Were you present at the time when Allah prescribed these prohibitory laws? (If not), who can then be more wicked than the one, who invents a falsehood and ascribes it to Allah so that he should, without knowledge, mislead the people? Indeed, Allah does not show guidance to such transgressors.

Translit: Wamina alibili ithnayni wamina albaqari ithnayni qul alththakarayni harrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamu alonthayayni am kuntum shuhadaa ith wassakumu Allahu bihatha faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban liyudilla alnnasa bighayri AAilmin inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translit: Qul la ajidu fee ma oohiya ilayya muharraman AAala taAAimin yatAAamuhu illa an yakoona maytatan aw daman masfoohan aw lahma khinzeerin fainnahu rijsun aw fisqan ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna rabbaka ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

"If the Book had been sent down to us, we would have proved ourselves more righteous than they." Now that a clear proof and Guidance and Blessing, has come to you from your Lord, who can be more unjust than the one who treats Our Revelations as false and turns away from them? We will inflict the severest torment on those who turn away from Our Signs because of their aversion.

Translit: Aw taqooloo law anna onzila AAalayna alkitabu lakunna ahda minhum faqad jaakum bayyinatun min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun faman athlamu mimman kaththaba biayati Allahi wasadafa AAanha sanajzee allatheena yasdifoona AAan ayatina sooa alAAathabi bima kanoo yasdifoona

Translation:

On dear Day the weight will be identical with the Truth: accordingly those whose scales will be heavy will alone come out successful.

Translit: Waalwaznu yawmaithini alhaqqu faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faolaika humu almuflihoona

Allah said. "Well, get down from here. You have no right to brag here of your greatness. Get out; indeed you are of those who wish themselves ignominy."

Translit: Qala faihbit minha fama yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feeha faokhruj innaka mina alssaghireena

Translation:

"O children of Adam! If Messengers from among you should come to you and recite to you My Revelations, whoever will refrain from disobedience and mend his ways, will have no cause of fear nor of sorrow;

Translit: Ya banee adama imma yatiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayatee famani ittaqa waaslaha fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

Translation:

Allah will say, "Go into Hell, where those who went before you from among jinns and men have gone. " As each generation will be entering Hell it will curse its preceding generation till all generations shall be gathered there: then each succeeding generation will say regarding the preceding one, "O Lord, these were the people who led us astray; therefore give them double chastisement of the Fire." Allah will reply, "There is a double chastisement for every one but you know it not."

Translit: Qala odkhuloo fee omamin qad khalat min qablikum mina aljinni waalinsi fee alnnari kullama dakhalat ommatun laAAanat okhtaha hatta itha iddarakoo feeha jameeAAan qalat okhrahum lioolahum rabbana haolai adalloona faatihim AAathaban diAAfan mina alnnari qala likullin diAAfun walakin la taAAlamoona

Translation:

And the preceding generation will say to the succeeding, "(If we were to blame) you, too, were no better than we. Now taste the torture for what you earned."

Translit: Waqalat oolahum liokhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona

Translation:

Believe it that the doors of heaven will not be opened for those who have treated Our Revelations as false and have shown pride in regard to them: their admission into Paradise is as impossible as the passing of the camel through the eye of the needle, so do We recompense the guilty ones.

Translit: Inna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha la tufattahu lahum abwabu alssamai wala yadkhuloona aljannata hatta yalija aljamalu fee sammi alkhiyati wakathalika najzee almujrimeena

Translation:

Then these people on `the Heights` will recognize by their characteristics some `big` personalities from among the inmates of Hell and will call out to them, "You have seen that today neither your followers have availed you anything nor your wealth and property, of which you were very proud.

Translit: Wanada ashabu alaAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahum qaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wama kuntum tastakbiroona

Translation:

Do not spread chaos on the earth after it has been set in order, and call your Lord with fear and with hope. Surely, the mercy of Allah is near to the righteous people.

Translit: Wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha waodAAoohu khawfan watamaAAan inna rahmata Allahi qareebun mina almuhsineena

Translation:

Had the people of the habitations believed and adopted the way of piety, We would have opened the doors of blessings from the heavens and the earth, but they denied the Truth; so We seized them for the evil they had earned.

Translit: Walaw anna ahla alqura amanoo waittaqaw lafatahna AAalayhim barakatin mina alssamai waalardi walakin kaththaboo faakhathnahum bima kanoo yaksiboona

Translation:

These people whose stories We recount to you (can serve as examples to you). Their Messengers came to them with clear Signs, but they would not believe in what they had once denied. Behold, this is how We seal the hearts of the disbelievers.

Translit: Tilka alqura naqussu AAalayka min anbaiha walaqad jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kanoo liyuminoo bima kaththaboo min qablu kathalika yatbaAAu Allahu AAala quloobi alkafireena

Translation:

He intends to drive you out of your land; now what do you propose to do?"

Translit: Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum famatha tamuroona

Translation:

They said to Moses, "We are not going to believe in you, whatever Sign you may bring to enchant us."

Translit: Waqaloo mahma tatina bihi min ayatin litasharana biha fama nahnu laka bimumineena

Translation:

But those from among them who were bent on wrongdoing changed that word which had been said to them. Consequently, We sent down scourge upon them from heaven because of the wrongs they were doing.

Translit: Fabaddala allatheena thalamoo minhum qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faarsalna AAalayhim rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yathlimoona

Translation:

If We had willed We would have exalted him by means of those revelations, but he clung on to the earth and followed his own lusts. Therefore he began to behave like a dog: it lolls out its tongue if you chase it away and it lolls out its tongue if you leave it alone. Such is the likeness of those who treat Our Revelations as false.

Translit: Walaw shina larafaAAnahu biha walakinnahu akhlada ila alardi waittabaAAa hawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmil AAalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath thalika mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina faoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahum yatafakkaroona

Translation:

It is Allah Who created you from one being, and of the same species He made his mate, so that he may have a tranquil life with her. Then when a man covered a woman, she bore a light burden with which she moved about. But when she became heavy with it, both of them prayed together to Allah, their Lord: "If Thou givest us a sound child, we will be grateful to Thee. "

Translit: Huwa allathee khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin wajaAAala minha zawjaha liyaskuna ilayha falamma taghashshaha hamalat hamlan khafeefan famarrat bihi falamma athqalat daAAawa Allaha rabbahuma lain ataytana salihan lanakoonanna mina alshshakireena

Translation:

And remember the time when Allah was giving you peace and security from Himself in the form of drowsiness, and was sending down on you water from heaven in order to cleanse you and to remove from you the defilement caused by Satan, and to strengthen your hearts and to steady your footsteps.

Translit: Ith yughashsheekumu alnnuAAasa amanatan minhu wayunazzilu AAalaykum mina alssamai maan liyutahhirakum bihi wayuthhiba AAankum rijza alshshaytani waliyarbita AAala quloobikum wayuthabbita bihi alaqdama

Translation:

And recall also to mind the thing they said, "If it is the Truth and has been sent down by Thee, rain down stones on us from the heavens or send down any other painful torment on us."

Translit: Waith qaloo allahumma in kana hatha huwa alhaqqa min AAindika faamtir AAalayna hijaratan mina alssamai awi itina biAAathabin aleemin

And know that, whatever spoils you have got, the fifth of these is for Allah and His Messenger and for the relatives and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarers; if you have believed in Allah and in what We sent down on Our servant on the day of decision, when the two armies met in combat. (then yield this portion willingly) Allah has power over everything.

Translit: WaiAAlamoo annama ghanimtum min shayin faanna lillahi khumusahu walilrrasooli walithee alqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeni waibni alssabeeli in kuntum amantum biAllahi wama anzalna AAala AAabdina yawma alfurqani yawma iltaqa aljamAAani waAllahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Translation:

How shall a treaty with these mushriks be regarded as abiding by Allah and His Messenger? -excepting those with whom you made a treaty at the Masjid-i-Haram: so long as they behave rightly with you, you also should behave rightly with them, for Allah loves the righteous people.-

Translit: Kayfa yakoonu lilmushrikeena AAahdun AAinda Allahi waAAinda rasoolihi illa allatheena AAahadtum AAinda almasjidi alharami fama istaqamoo lakum faistaqeemoo lahum inna Allaha yuhibbu almuttaqeena

Translation:

O you who believed! what was amiss with you that, when you were asked to march forth on the Way of Allah, you clung to the earth? What! did you prefer the life of this world to the life of the Hereafter? If it is so, you should know that all these goods of this worldly life will prove to be but little in the Hereafter.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ma lakum itha qeela lakumu infiroo fee sabeeli Allahi iththaqaltum ila alardi aradeetum bialhayati alddunya mina alakhirati fama mataAAu alhayati alddunya fee alakhirati illa qaleelun

Translation:

Has not the story reached them of those who had gone before them-the people of Noah, tribes of `Ad and Thamud, the people of Abraham and the inhabitants of Midian and of the overturned cities? Their Messengers came to them with clear signs; then it was not Allah Who would wrong them, but they wronged their own selves.

Translit: Alam yatihim nabao allatheena min qablihim qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waqawmi ibraheema waashabi madyana waalmutafikati atathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Translation:

Likewise there can be no ground for criticizing those people who came to you in person and requested you to provide them with mounts. For when you said to them, "I am unable to provide you with mounts, they returned with heavy hearts, their eyes overflowing with tears: they were filled with sorrow that they had no means of going forth for Jihad at their own expense.

Translit: Wala AAala allatheena itha ma atawka litahmilahum qulta la ajidu ma ahmilukum AAalayhi tawallaw waaAAyunuhum tafeedu mina alddamAAi hazanan alla yajidoo ma yunfiqoona

Translation:

Why, is he better who founded his building upon Allahs fear and for His approval or he who founded his building on the brink of an under-mined bank that tumbled with him down into the fire of Hell? Allah never shows the Right Way to such workers of iniquity.

Translit: Afaman assasa bunyanahu AAala taqwa mina Allahi waridwanin khayrun am man assasa bunyanahu AAala shafa jurufin harin fainhara bihi fee nari jahannama waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translation:

This worldly life (which has so enamored you that you have become neglectful of Our Signs) may be likened to the produce of the earth: We sent rain-water from the sky, and the crops of which man and animals eat, grew up luxuriantly. Then at that very time, when the land was at its best, and the crops had ripened and decked out and the owners were presuming that they would be able to benefit from them, Our Command came all of a sudden by night or by day, and We destroyed it so thoroughly as though nothing had existed there the previous day. Thus We expound Our Signs in detail for the consideration of those people who are thoughtful.

Translit: Innama mathalu alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi nabatu alardi mimma yakulu alnnasu waalanAAamu hatta itha akhathati alardu zukhrufaha waizzayyanat wathanna ahluha annahum qadiroona AAalayha ataha amruna laylan aw naharan fajaAAalnaha haseedan kaan lam taghna bialamsi kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yatafakkaroona

Translation:

Ask them "Who provides for you from the heavens and the earth? Who has power over the faculties of hearing and sight? Who brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living? Who directs the system of the universe?" They will surely reply, "Allah". Say "Will you not, then, refrain from (going against the Truth)?"

Translit: Qul man yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi amman yamliku alssamAAa waalabsara waman yukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti wayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi waman yudabbiru alamra fasayaqooloona Allahu faqul afala tattaqoona

Translation:

The same Allah is your true Lord: then, what remains there after the Truth except deviation? Well, whither are you being turned away?"

Translit: Fathalikumu Allahu rabbukumu alhaqqu famatha baAAda alhaqqi illa alddalalu faanna tusrafoona

Translation:

Ask them, "Is there any of the partners you have set up with Allah, who guides to the Truth?" Say: "It is Allah alone Who guides to the Truth." Very well, then tell: "Who is more worthy to be followed: He Who guides to the Truth or the one who cannot guide unless he himself be guided? What has then gone wrong with you that you make perverted judgments?"

Translit: Qul hal min shurakaikum man yahdee ila alhaqqi quli Allahu yahdee lilhaqqi afaman yahdee ila alhaqqi ahaqqu an yuttabaAAa amman la yahiddee illa an yuhda fama lakum kayfa tahkumoona

Translation:

O Prophet, We are witnessing whatever work you may be engaged in and whatever portion you may be reciting from the Quran; We are also keeping a watch, O people, over whatever you are doing: for there is not an iota of anything, small or big, in the earth and the heavens that is hidden from your Lord, and everything is on record in the clear Register.

Translit: Wama takoonu fee shanin wama tatloo minhu min quranin wala taAAmaloona min AAamalin illa kunna AAalaykum shuhoodan ith tufeedoona feehi wama yaAAzubu AAan rabbika min mithqali tharratin fee alardi wala fee alssamai wala asghara min thalika wala akbara illa fee kitabin mubeenun

Translation:

If you have turned away from my Message, (I have lost nothing) for I did not demand any reward from you: my reward is with Allah, and I have been commanded to behave like a Muslim, (whether any other does so or not.)"

Translit: Fain tawallaytum fama saaltukum min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala Allahi waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena

Translation:

After Noah We sent different Messengers to their peoples and they came to them with manifest Signs, but they would not believe in what they had disbelieved before. This is how We set a seal on the hearts of the transgressors.

Translit: Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihi rusulan ila qawmihim fajaoohum bialbayyinati fama kanoo liyuminoo bima kaththaboo bihi min qablu kathalika natbaAAu AAala quloobi almuAAtadeena

Translation:

We gave an excellent abode to the children of Israel and provided them with the best things of life. Then they caused not dissensions among themselves until the knowledge had come to them. Surely your Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they had been differing.

Translit: Walaqad bawwana banee israeela mubawwaa sidqin warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati fama ikhtalafoo hatta jaahumu alAAilmu inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona

Translation:

O Muhammad, tell them, "O mankind! the Truth has come to you from your Lord. Now, whosoever follows the Right way, he does so for his own good, and whosoever goes astray, he does so to bring about his own ruin; and I am not a keeper over you. "

Translit: Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaakumu alhaqqu min rabbikum famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wama ana AAalaykum biwakeelin

Translation:

And if after the adversity that had visited him. We bestow favors upon him, he says, "All my sorrows have gone from me," and grows over-jubilant and arrogant.

Translit: Walain athaqnahu naAAmaa baAAda darraa massathu layaqoolanna thahaba alssayyiatu AAannee innahu lafarihun fakhoorun

Translation:

Can it happen that he who takes his stand on a clear evidence from his Lord, subsequently followed by a witness from Him (in his support), and prior to that the Book of Moses was revealed as a guide and a mercy, (would even he deny the truth in the manner of those who adore the life of this world)? Rather, such men are bound to believe in it. The Fire shall be the promised resort of the groups that disbelieve. So be in no doubt about it for this indeed is the truth from your Lord although most people do not believe.

Translit: Afaman kana AAala bayyinatin min rabbihi wayatloohu shahidun minhu wamin qablihi kitabu moosa imaman warahmatan olaika yuminoona bihi waman yakfur bihi mina alahzabi faalnnaru mawAAiduhu fala taku fee miryatin minhu innahu alhaqqu min rabbika walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona

Translation:

They were unable to frustrate Allah on the earth, nor had they protectors to defend them against Allah. Now they shall be given double chastisement: for they would neither listen to others nor see the Truth for themselves.

Translit: Olaika lam yakoonoo muAAjizeena fee alardi wama kana lahum min dooni Allahi min awliyaa yudaAAafu lahumu alAAathabu ma kanoo yastateeAAoona alssamAAa wama kanoo yubsiroona

Translation:

So he began to build the Ark. And whoso of the chiefs of his people passed by him, he jeered at him. Noah said, "Laugh at us, if you will; we. too, are laughing at you; for soon you shall come to know who is visited by the torment that will disgrace him, and who is afflicted with the inevitable and lasting calamity."

Translit: WayasnaAAu alfulka wakullama marra AAalayhi malaon min qawmihi sakhiroo minhu qala in taskharoo minna fainna naskharu minkum kama taskharoona

Translation:

And O my people, beg forgiveness of your Lord; then turn to }um in repentance. and He will open the gates of the heavens for you and add more strength to your present strength. Do not turn away as guilty people."

Translit: Waya qawmi istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma tooboo ilayhi yursili alssamaa AAalaykum midraran wayazidkum quwwatan ila quwwatikum wala tatawallaw mujrimeena

Translation:

Salih said, "O my people! Just consider it yourselves: if my Lord had sent me with a clear Sign and bestowed His special blessings on me who will help save me from Allah if, after this, I become disobedient to Him? You cannot help me any way, but might hasten my ruin.

Translit: Qala ya qawmi araaytum in kuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waatanee minhu rahmatan faman yansurunee mina Allahi in AAasaytuhu fama tazeedoonanee ghayra takhseerin

Translation:

And lo, Our Messengers came to Abraham with good news. They said, "Peace be upon you." Abraham answered, "Peace be also upon you." And before long he brought a roasted calf for them.

Translit: Walaqad jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo salaman qala salamun fama labitha an jaa biAAijlin haneethin

Translation:

We were not unjust to them but they were unjust to themselves. And when the judgment of your Lord came to pass, those deities of theirs, whom they worshiped instead of Allah, availed them not at all: they only hastened their ruin. They did them no good but caused their destruction and ruin.

Translit: Wama thalamnahum walakin thalamoo anfusahum fama aghnat AAanhum alihatuhumu allatee yadAAoona min dooni Allahi min shayin lamma jaa amru rabbika wama zadoohum ghayra tatbeebin

Translation:

Joseph answered, "You will cultivate land for seven consecutive years as usual. During this period thrash out of the harvest you reap only that much grain that might suffice for your food and leave the rest in the ears.

Translit: Qala tazraAAoona sabAAa sineena daaban fama hasadtum fatharoohu fee sunbulihi illa qaleelan mimma takuloona

Translation:

At this, they said, "Very well, what shall be the punishment of the thief, if you are found to be liars?"

Translit: Qaloo fama jazaohu in kuntum kathibeena

Translation:

It is He Who makes the lightning flash before you to fill you both with fear and with hope: it is He Who produces clouds laden with water.

Translit: Huwa allathee yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunshio alssahaba alththiqala

Translation:

Allah sent down water from the sky and every system carried it along according to its capacity: then there was flood and a swelling foam came to the surface. Likewise there arises a scum out of the metals which are melted in the furnace for making ornaments and utensils. By such similitudes, Allah makes the truth distinct from falsehood. That which is the foam vanishes and that which is beneficial for the people remains on the earth. In this way Allah cites similes to make His Message clear.

Translit: Anzala mina alssamai maan fasalat awdiyatun biqadariha faihtamala alssaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimma yooqidoona AAalayhi fee alnnari ibtighaa hilyatin aw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribu Allahu alhaqqa waalbatila faamma alzzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waamma ma yanfaAAu alnnasa fayamkuthu fee alardi kathalika yadribu Allahu alamthala

Translation:

Well, how can the one who believes that this Book which has been sent down to you from your Lord, is the Truth, be like the one who is blind to this fact? It is the wise people alone who take advice from this:

Translit: Afaman yaAAlamu annama onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu kaman huwa aAAma innama yatathakkaru oloo alalbabi

Translation:

What! are they (so audacious that they are) setting up partners with Him Who is watching minutely over the actions of each and every soul? O Prophet say to them, "(If God has Himself set them up as His partners) just tell me their names. Do you mean to inform Him of something new that He Himself is unaware of on His earth? Or do you merely utter empty words? Indeed for those who rejected the Message their fraud has been made to appear fair to them and they have been debarred froth the Right Way: and there is none to show the Right Way to those whom Allah lets go astray.

Translit: Afaman huwa qaimun AAala kulli nafsin bima kasabat wajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa qul sammoohum am tunabbioonahu bima la yaAAlamu fee alardi am bithahirin mina alqawli bal zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo makruhum wasuddoo AAani alssabeeli waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin

Translation:

Do you not see to what Allah has likened the Pure Word? It is like a good tree which has got deep roots into the earth and whose branches have spread high up into heaven.

Translit: Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahu mathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatin asluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssamai

Translation:

Allah is He Who has created the heavens and the earth, and He sent down rain water from the sky where with He produced different kinds of fruits to provide you with food. It is He Who subdued the ship for you that it may sail in the seas by His order and likewise He subdued the rivers for you.

Translit: Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum wasakhkhara lakumu alfulka litajriya fee albahri biamrihi wasakhkhara lakumu alanhara

Translation:

Lord! these have turned away many people from the Right Way (and they might turn away my descendants as well. Therefore, only those of them) who follow my way, belong to me, but (I leave to Thee) those who follow a different way from mine, for Thou art very Forgiving and Merciful.

Translit: Rabbi innahunna adlalna katheeran mina alnnasi faman tabiAAanee fainnahu minnee waman AAasanee fainnaka ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

Lord! Thou hast full knowledge of all that we hide and disclose." And the fact is that nothing in the earth and heavens is hidden from Allah.

Translit: Rabbana innaka taAAlamu ma nukhfee wama nuAAlinu wama yakhfa AAala Allahi min shayin fee alardi wala fee alssamai

Translation:

Even if We had opened a gate for them in heaven, and they had begun to ascend through it higher during day time,

Translit: Walaw fatahna AAalayhim baban mina alssamai fathalloo feehi yaAArujoona

Translation:

It is We Who have divided the heavens into many fortified spheres for the sake of administration and adorned and decked them out fair to the beholders,

Translit: Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssamai buroojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena

Translation:

except that an eaves-dropper might hear something, but a fiery flame pursues that eaves-dropper.

Translit: Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAa faatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun

Translation:

It is We Who send the fertilizing winds: then We send down water from heaven, and then We give it to you to drink; and it is not you who hold the store of this wealth.

Translit: Waarsalna alrriyaha lawaqiha faanzalna mina alssamai maan faasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineena

Translation:

Then he asked them, "O Messengers of Allah! What is the expedition for which you have been sent?"

Translit: Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona

Translation:

It is He, Who sends down for you water from the sky, which provides drinking water for you and brings forth fodder for your cattle.

Translit: Huwa allathee anzala mina alssamai maan lakum minhu sharabun waminhu shajarun feehi tuseemoona

Translation:

Is, then, He, Who creates, like those who create nothing? Do you not understand even this much?

Translit: Afaman yakhluqu kaman la yakhluqu afala tathakkaroona

or that He will seize them all of a sudden while they are roaming about fearlessly, or that He will seize them when they themselves are on the alert about the impending danger?

Translit: Aw yakhuthahum fee taqallubihim fama hum bimuAAjizeena

Translation:

In every rainy season you see that) Allah sent down water from heaven, and by it gave life to the earth after it had been dead: indeed there is a Sign in this for those who listen (to the Message).

Translit: WaAllahu anzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yasmaAAoona

Translation:

Consider also this: Allah has favored some of you above others with provisions, but those who have been favored with this, do not give away their provisions to their slaves so that both may become equal in the provision. What! do they then deny to acknowledge Allahs favor?

Translit: WaAllahu faddala baAAdakum AAala baAAdin fee alrrizqi fama allatheena fuddiloo biraddee rizqihim AAala ma malakat aymanuhum fahum feehi sawaon afabiniAAmati Allahi yajhadoona

Translation:

Allah brought you out of your mothers wombs in this state that you knew nothing: He gave you ears and eyes and thinking minds so that you may be grateful.

Translit: WaAllahu akhrajakum min butooni ommahatikum la taAAlamoona shayan wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation:

Have they never observed how the birds are poised in the vault of heaven? Who holds them up but Allah? There are many Signs in this for those people who believe.

Translit: Alam yaraw ila alttayri musakhkharatin fee jawwi alssamai ma yumsikuhunna illa Allahu inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona

Translation:

Allah has sealed the hearts, the ears and the eyes of such people and they have become neglectful:

Translit: Olaika allatheena tabaAAa Allahu AAala quloobihim wasamAAihim waabsarihim waolaika humu alghafiloona

Translation:

Allah has forbidden only these things: do not eat what dies of itself nor blood nor swine flesh nor what has been slaughtered in any name other than Allah. But if forced by hunger one eats of any of these forbidden things, provided he has no intention of breaking the Divine Law or of transgressing the limits by taking more than what is absolutely indispensable, one may expect mercy, for Allah is very Forgiving and very Compassionate.

Translit: Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Translation:

Behold! We have created day and night as two signs: We have deprived the sign of night of light and made the sign of day bright to enable you to seek bounty of your Lord and to reckon months and years. Thus We have made everything manifestly distinct.

Translit: WajaAAalna allayla waalnnahara ayatayni famahawna ayata allayli wajaAAalna ayata alnnahari mubsiratan litabtaghoo fadlan min rabbikum walitaAAlamoo AAadada alssineena waalhisaba wakulla shayin fassalnahu tafseelan

13. Do not follow that of which you have no knowledge for you shall be questioned for (the use) of your eyes, ears and minds.

Translit: Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun inna alssamAAa waalbasara waalfuada kullu olaika kana AAanhu masoolan

Translation:

Call to mind, O Muhammad! We told you at the very beginning that your Lord is encircling these people. And We made what We have shown you now and also the Tree which has been cursed in the Qur'an as a trial for these people." We are giving them warning after warning but each warning helps only to increase their insurrection.

Translit: Waith qulna laka inna rabbaka ahata bialnnasi wama jaAAalna alrruya allatee araynaka illa fitnatan lilnnasi waalshshajarata almalAAoonata fee alqurani wanukhawwifuhum fama yazeeduhum illa tughyanan kabeeran

Translation:

Allah replied, "Well, get away. Hell is your ample reward and the reward of those who follow you.

Translit: Qala ithhab faman tabiAAaka minhum fainna jahannama jazaokum jazaan mawfooran

Translation:

Just imagine the scene on the Day, when We will summon every community with its leader: then those, who will be given their records in their right hands, will read their records and will not be wronged in the least;

Translit: Yawma nadAAoo kulla onasin biimamihim faman ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi faolaika yaqraoona kitabahum wala yuthlamoona fateelan

Translation:

Declare this, "Even if human beings and jinns should cooperate with one another to bring forth a book like the Qur'an, they will never be able to bring anything like it, even though all of them help one another."

Translit: Qul laini ijtamaAAati alinsu waaljinnu AAala an yatoo bimithli hatha alqurani la yatoona bimithlihi walaw kana baAAduhum libaAAdin thaheeran

Translation:

or until you cause the sky to fall on us in fragments, as you threaten us; or you bring Allah and the angels face to face before us

Translit: Aw tusqita alssamaa kama zaAAamta AAalayna kisafan aw tatiya biAllahi waalmalaikati qabeelan

Translation:

or a house of gold comes into being for you or you ascend the sky, and we are not going to believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a writing that we may read"O Muhammad, Say to them, "My Lord be glorified! have I ever claimed to be anything more than a human Messenger?"

Translit: Aw yakoona laka baytun min zukhrufin aw tarqa fee alssamai walan numina liruqiyyika hatta tunazzila AAalayna kitaban naqraohu qul subhana rabbee hal kuntu illa basharan rasoolan

Translation:

Say to them, "Had angels settled on the Earth and moved about in peace, We would certainly have sent an angel as a Messenger to them."

Translit: Qul law kana fee alardi malaikatun yamshoona mutmainneena lanazzalna AAalayhim mina alssamai malakan rasoolan

Translation:

Whomsoever Allah guides, he alone is rightly guided and whomsoever He lets go astray, you will find for such people no other protector and helper besides Him. On the Day of Resurrection, We will muster them prostrate upon their faces, blind, dumb and deaf. Their abode will be Hell: whenever its fire abates, We will rekindle it for them.

Translit: Waman yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadi waman yudlil falan tajida lahum awliyaa min doonihi wanahshuruhum yawma alqiyamati AAala wujoohihim AAumyan wabukman wasumman mawahum jahannamu kullama khabat zidnahum saAAeeran

Translation:

(Then they held mutual consultations, saying,) "These people of ours have given up the Lord of the universe and adopted other deities. Why do they not bring forward any clear argument in support of their creed? Well, who can be more wicked than the one who forges a lie against Allah?

Translit: Haolai qawmuna ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan lawla yatoona AAalayhim bisultanin bayyinin faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban

Translation:

Proclaim, "This is the Truth from your Lord: now whosoever will, he may accept it and whosoever will, he may reject it.â€ (As for those who reject this,) We have prepared for such workers of iniquity a fire whose flames have encircled them. If they will ask for water there, they will be treated with such a drink as will have its residue like that of oil and burn their lips: what an evil drink and what an evil abode!

Translit: Waquli alhaqqu min rabbikum faman shaa falyumin waman shaa falyakfur inna aAAtadna lilththalimeena naran ahata bihim suradiquha wain yastagheethoo yughathoo bimain kaalmuhli yashwee alwujooha bisa alshsharabu wasaat murtafaqan

Translation:

my Lord may bestow on me a better garden than yours and send from heaven on your garden a catastrophe that might turn it into a barren plain,

Translit: FaAAasa rabbee an yutiyani khayran min jannatika wayursila AAalayha husbanan mina alssamai fatusbiha saAAeedan zalaqan

And O Prophet, bring home to them the reality of this worldly life by a parable. It is like the vegetation of the earth that flourished luxuriantly when We sent down rain water from the sky, but afterwards the same vegetation was turned into chaff, which is blown away by the wind: Allah has power over everything.

Translit: Waidrib lahum mathala alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi nabatu alardi faasbaha hasheeman tathroohu alrriyahu wakana Allahu AAala kulli shayin muqtadiran

Translation:

And on that Day, We will let loose the people to come close together tumultuously (like the waves of an ocean), and the trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather together all mankind.

Translit: Watarakna baAAdahum yawmaithin yamooju fee baAAdin wanufikha fee alssoori fajamaAAnahum jamAAan

who had become blind to My admonition and turned a deaf ear to it.

Translit: Allatheena kanat aAAyunuhum fee ghitain AAan thikree wakanoo la yastateeAAoona samAAan

O Muhammad say to them, "I am a human being like you: it has been revealed to me that your Deity is only One Allah. Therefore the one who expects to meet his Lord, should not associate with Him any other deity in His worship.â€

He it is Who has spread the earth as a bed for you, and made paths for you to move about (from place to place); He sent down rain water from above and produced different kinds of vegetation:

Translit: Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wasalaka lakum feeha subulan waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi azwajan min nabatin shatta

Pharaoh then withdrew and gathered together all his devices, and came to the encounter.

Translit: Fatawalla firAAawnu fajamaAAa kaydahu thumma ata

(Then Moses turned to Samiri) and said, "O Samiri, what have you to say about the matter?"

Translit: Qala fama khatbuka ya samiriyyu

saying, "Get down from here both of you (Man and Satan): you will remain enemies to each ether. After this, if you receive Guidance from Me; whoso will follow that Guidance, he will neither go astray nor be involved in wretchedness,

They give a mere formal hearing to every new Revelation that comes to them from their Lord and remain engaged in the game (of life)

Translit: Ma yateehim min thikrin min rabbihim muhdathin illa istamaAAoohu wahum yalAAaboona

To this the Prophet replied, "My Lord has the knowledge of everything that is said in the heavens and the earth for He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing."

Translit: Qala rabbee yaAAlamu alqawla fee alssamai waalardi wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

Translation:

We have not created for a pastime the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them.

Translit: Wama khalaqna alssamaa waalarda wama baynahuma laAAibeena

Translation:

And We made the sky a safe canopy, but in spite of this they do not pay due heed to its signs.

Translit: WajaAAalna alssamaa saqfan mahfoothan wahum AAan ayatiha muAAridoona

On that Day, We will roll up the sky as the leaves of paper are rolled up in a written scroll. We will bang forth the creation once again as We had originated it before. This is a promise We have made to Ourself, and We have to fulfill it.

Translit: Yawma natwee alssamaa katayyi alssijlli lilkutubi kama badana awwala khalqin nuAAeeduhu waAAdan AAalayna inna kunna faAAileena

Translation:

As for the one who presumes that Allah will neither help him in this world nor in the Hereafter, he should (if he can) ascend the sky by a rope and cut a hole into it and then peep through it and see for himself whether any device of his can avert his doom, which he abhors

Translit: Man kana yathunnu an lan yansurahu Allahu fee alddunya waalakhirati falyamdud bisababin ila alssamai thumma liyaqtaAA falyanthur hal yuthhibanna kayduhu ma yagheethu

Translation:

Do you not see that everything in the heavens and the earth bows down before Allah? and so do the sun, and the moon and the stars, and the trees and the beasts and a large number of the people and even a large number of those who have deserved the torment. And the one whom Allah degrades and disgraces has none to make him worthy of honor; Allah does whatever He wills.

Translit: Alam tara anna Allaha yasjudu lahu man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi waalshshamsu waalqamaru waalnnujoomu waaljibalu waalshshajaru waalddawabbu wakatheerun mina alnnasi wakatheerun haqqa AAalayhi alAAathabu waman yuhini Allahu fama lahu min mukrimin inna Allaha yafAAalu ma yashao

Translation:

Become Allah's sincere servants, turning away from everything and without associating any partner with Him, for the one who associates a partner with Allah, becomes like him who has fallen from heaven. Then either the birds will snatch him away or the wind will blow him off to a place where he will be shattered into pieces.

Translit: Hunafaa lillahi ghayra mushrikeena bihi waman yushrik biAllahi fakaannama kharra mina alssamai fatakhtafuhu alttayru aw tahwee bihi alrreehu fee makanin saheeqin

Translation:

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain water from the sky and the land becomes green because of it? The fact is that Allah works in imperceptible ways and is fully aware of everything.

Translit: Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan fatusbihu alardu mukhdarratan inna Allaha lateefun khabeerun

Translation:

Do you not see that He has subdued to you all that is in the earth and that He has subjected the boat to the law that she floats over the sea at His bidding, and He is supporting the sky in a way that it cannot fall down without His permission? The fact of the matter is that Allah is very Kind and Merciful to the people.

Translit: Alam tara anna Allaha sakhkhara lakum ma fee alardi waalfulka tajree fee albahri biamrihi wayumsiku alssamaa an taqaAAa AAala alardi illa biithnihi inna Allaha bialnnasi laraoofun raheemun

Do you not know that Allah has full knowledge of everything in the heavens and the earth ? Every thing has been recorded in a Book; this is an easy thing for Allah.

Translit: Alam taAAlam anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee alssamai waalardi inna thalika fee kitabin inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

Translation:

O mankind! A parable is related to you: so listen to it. The deities, whom you invoke instead of Allah, cannot create a fly even though they may all combine together for this purpose. Nay! if a fly snatches away something from them, they cannot get it back from it. How weak are the suppliants and how weak those whom they supplicate.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu duriba mathalun faistamiAAoo lahu inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi lan yakhluqoo thubaban walawi ijtamaAAoo lahu wain yaslubuhumu alththubabu shayan la yastanqithoohu minhu daAAufa alttalibu waalmatloobu

And We sent down rain from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth and We are able to take it away as We will.

Translit: Waanzalna mina alssamai maan biqadarin faaskannahu fee alardi wainna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroona

And We made the son of Mary and his mother a Sign to mankind and We gave them shelter on a plateau where they could have peace, and which was watered by running springs.

for even now, when they are suffering from a torment, they have not bowed before their Lord nor humbled themselves.

Translit: Walaqad akhathnahum bialAAathabi fama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoona

It is Allah Who has endowed you with the faculties of hearing and seeing and given you hearts to think, but you do not show any gratitude.

Translit: Wahuwa allathee anshaa lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona

Or (their efforts may be likened to those of a man trying to swim in) a deep dark ocean, covered with billows, one over the other, and above it a cloud: darkness upon darkness: so much so that if he stretches out his hand, he cannot see it. There is no light for the one whom Allah does not give light.

Translit: Aw kathulumatin fee bahrin lujjiyyin yaghshahu mawjun min fawqihi mawjun min fawqihi sahabun thulumatun baAAduha fawqa baAAdin itha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yaraha waman lam yajAAali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu min noorin

Translation:

Do you not observe that Allah makes the cloud move gently then joins its pieces together: then gathers it into a mass of thick cloud: then you see that rain-drops fall down from its midst: and He sends down hail out of the high up mountains in the heaven: then He smites with it whom He wills and turns it away from whom He pleases: then a flash of lightning from it dazzles the eyes.

Translit: Alam tara anna Allaha yuzjee sahaban thumma yuallifu baynahu thumma yajAAaluhu rukaman fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi wayunazzilu mina alssamai min jibalin feeha min baradin fayuseebu bihi man yashao wayasrifuhu AAan man yashao yakadu sana barqihi yathhabu bialabsari

Thus will your gods deny all that you are professing today. Then you shall neither be able to repel your punishment nor shall get any help from anywhere; and whoso is guilty. of iniquity among you, We shall make him taste a severe torment.

Translit: Faqad kaththabookum bima taqooloona fama tastateeAAoona sarfan wala nasran waman yathlim minkum nuthiqhu AAathaban kabeeran

And it is He, Who drives the winds to be the harbingers of His mercy: then He sends down pure water from the sky

Highly blessed is He, Who has made fortified spheres in the heavens and has set in it a "lamp" and a shining moon.

If We will, We can send down from the sky a Sign before which they will bend down their necks in submission.

Translit: In nasha nunazzil AAalayhim mina alssamai ayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum laha khadiAAeena

he wants to drive you out of your land by means of his magic. Now, what is your command?"

Translit: Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihi famatha tamuroona

When the two hosts came face to face with each other, the companions of Moses cried out: "We are overtaken!"

Translit: Falamma taraa aljamAAani qala ashabu moosa inna lamudrakoona

However, if you are truthful, cause a fragment of the sky to fall down upon us."

Translit: Faasqit AAalayna kisafan mina alssamai in kunta mina alssadiqeena

They have indeed been kept out of its hearing.

They whisper hearsay into ears, and most of them are liars.

Translit: Yulqoona alssamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboona

When (the envoy of the queen) came to Solomon, the king said "Do you want to help me with wealth? What God has given me is much more than what He has given you May you yourselves rejoice in your gift!

Translit: Falamma jaa sulaymana qala atumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniya Allahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahoona

Translation:

Well, Who is He Who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rainwater for you from the sky, then caused to spring up by it beautiful gardens, whose trees you had no power to cause to grow? Is there besides Allah another god (who is His associate in these works)? (Nay,) but these people themselves have strayed from the right path.

Translit: Amman khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala lakum mina alssamai maan faanbatna bihi hadaiqa thata bahjatin ma kana lakum an tunbitoo shajaraha ailahun maAAa Allahi bal hum qawmun yaAAdiloona

Translation:

And Who is it Who originates the creation and then reproduces it? And Who provides you sustenance from the sky and the earth? Is there besides Allah another god (who is a partner in these works) Say, "Bring your proof if you are truthful."

Translit: Amman yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu waman yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeena

There is no secret thing in the heavens and the earth, which is not recorded in a clear Book.

Translit: Wama min ghaibatin fee alssamai waalardi illa fee kitabin mubeenin

and to recite the Qur'an." Now whosoever follows the guidance, will follow it for his own good, and to him who goes astray, say, "I am only a warner."

Translit: Waan atluwa alqurana famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla faqul innama ana mina almunthireena

Translation:

Whatever you have been given, is merely a provision for this worldly life and its adornment; and that which is with Allah is better and more lasting. Do you not use common sense?

Translit: Wama ooteetum min shayin famataAAu alhayati alddunya wazeenatuha wama AAinda Allahi khayrun waabqa afala taAAqiloona

Translation:

Can the person to whom We have made a good promise, which he would certainly meet, be ever like the one, whom We have only given the provisions of the worldly life, and who, on the Day of Resurrection, would be presented for punishment.

Translit: Afaman waAAadnahu waAAdan hasanan fahuwa laqeehi kaman mattaAAnahu mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma huwa yawma alqiyamati mina almuhdareena

Translation:

But he replied, "All that I have been given is by virtue of the knowledge that I possess." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him many such people who were mightier than him in power and strength? But the criminals are not asked as to their sins.

Translit: Qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin AAindee awalam yaAAlam anna Allaha qad ahlaka min qablihi mina alqurooni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwatan waaktharu jamAAan wala yusalu AAan thunoobihimu almujrimoona

Translation:

Consequently, We sank him and his people in all his dwelling place underground; then he had no host of supporters, who could help him against Allah, nor was he able to help himself.

Translit: Fakhasafna bihi wabidarihi alarda fama kana lahu min fiatin yansuroonahu min dooni Allahi wama kana mina almuntasireena

Translation:

You can neither make (Him) helpless in the earth nor in the heaven, and you have no patron and helper to save you from Allah.

Translit: Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wala fee alssamai wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

Translation:

What! Do you go to the males, and commit robbery and indulge in indecencies in your assemblies?" Then the only answer his people gave was to say, "Bring forth the torment of Allah if you are truthful."

Translit: Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala wataqtaAAoona alssabeela watatoona fee nadeekumu almunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo itina biAAathabi Allahi in kunta mina alssadiqeena

Translation:

We are going to bring down a torment from the sky upon the people of this habitation on account of the evil they have been committing"

Translit: Inna munziloona AAala ahli hathihi alqaryati rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona

Translation:

If you ask them, "Who sent down rainwater from the sky and thereby raised the dead earth back to life?" they will surely say, "Allah!" Say, "Praise be to Allah!" Yet most of them do not use their common sense.

Translit: Walain saaltahum man nazzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda min baAAdi mawtiha layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona

Translation:

Those who will strive in Our cause, We shall guide them to Our own paths, and surely Allah is with the righteous.

Translit: Waallatheena jahadoo feena lanahdiyannahum subulana wainna Allaha lamaAAa almuhsineena

Translation:

And have they never traveled in the earth that they could see the end of those who have gone before them? They were mightier than these in strength: they tilled the land and built more on it than these people have. Their Messengers came to them with clear Signs. then it was not Allah Who was unjust to them, but it was they who were being unjust to themselves.

Translit: Awalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim kanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharoo alarda waAAamarooha akthara mimma AAamarooha wajaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Translation:

And of His Signs is this that He shows you the lightning, for fear as well as for hope, and He sends down rainwater from the sky and thereby gives life to the earth after its death. Surely in this there are many Signs for those who use their common sense.

Translit: Wamin ayatihi yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunazzilu mina alssamai maan fayuhyee bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona

But the wrongdoers are following their own desires, without any knowledge. Now, who can guide the one whom Allah has led astray? Such people can have no helper.

Translit: Bali ittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo ahwaahum bighayri AAilmin faman yahdee man adalla Allahu wama lahum min nasireena

Translation:

It is Allah Who sends the winds, which raise the cloud; then He spreads the clouds in the sky as He pleases, and breaks them up; and then you see drops of rainwater falling from the cloud. When He showers this rain upon those of His servants He pleases, they are filled with joy,

Translit: Allahu allathee yursilu alrriyaha fatutheeru sahaban fayabsutuhu fee alssamai kayfa yashao wayajAAaluhu kisafan fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi faitha asaba bihi man yashao min AAibadihi itha hum yastabshiroona

Translation:

He created the heavens without pillars that you could see. He set mountains in the earth lest it should tilt away along with you. He scattered all kinds of animals in the earth, and sent down rainwater froth the sky and caused a variety of bounteous vegetation to grow in it.

Translit: Khalaqa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnaha waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum wabaththa feeha min kulli dabbatin waanzalna mina alssamai maan faanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin

Translation:

He administers the affairs of the world from the heavens to the earth, and the report of this administration ascends (to be presented) before Him in a Day whose length, according to your reckoning, is a thousand years.

Translit: Yudabbiru alamra mina alssamai ila alardi thumma yaAAruju ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu alfa sanatin mimma taAAuddoona

then He shaped him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and He gave you the ears, and the eyes and the hearts: yet you are seldom grateful.

Translit: Thumma sawwahu wanafakha feehi min roohihi wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona

who forsake their beds and invoke their Lord in fear and in hope; and who spend out of what We have given them.

Translit: Tatajafa junoobuhum AAani almadajiAAi yadAAoona rabbahum khawfan watamaAAan wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona

Translation:

Can he who is a believer be like him who is a sinner? They cannot be alike.

Translit: Afaman kana muminan kaman kana fasiqan la yastawoona

Translation:

As for those who have adopted evil, their abode shall be Hell. Whenever they try to get out of it, they will be pushed back into it and it will be said to them, "Taste now the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."

Translit: Waamma allatheena fasaqoo famawahumu alnnaru kullama aradoo an yakhrujoo minha oAAeedoo feeha waqeela lahum thooqoo AAathaba alnnari allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona

Translation:

O you who have believed, when you marry the believing women, and then divorce them before you have touched them, they do not have to fulfill a waiting term, whose completion you may demand of them; so provide them with something and send them off gracefully.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha nakahtumu almuminati thumma tallaqtumoohunna min qabli an tamassoohunna fama lakum AAalayhinna min AAiddatin taAAtaddoonaha famattiAAoohunna wasarrihoohunna sarahan jameelan

Translation:

He knows whatever goes into the earth and whatever comes out of it; and whatever comes down from the sky and whatever ascends into it: He is the All-Merciful, the All-Forgiving.

Translit: YaAAlamu ma yaliju fee alardi wama yakhruju minha wama yanzilu mina alssamai wama yaAAruju feeha wahuwa alrraheemu alghafooru

Translation:

Have they never seen the earth, which surrounds them from front and from behind? If We will, We can sink them underground, or cause some fragments of the sky to fall down upon them. There is' indeed a Sign in this for every such servant who turns to God.

Translit: Afalam yaraw ila ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum mina alssamai waalardi in nasha nakhsif bihimu alarda aw nusqit AAalayhim kisafan mina alssamai inna fee thalika laayatan likulli AAabdin muneebin

Translation:

O people, remember the favors Allah has done to you. Is there beside Allah any other creator also, who provides for you from the heavens and the earth? There is no god but He. From where then are you being deceived?

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum hal min khaliqin ghayru Allahi yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi la ilaha illa huwa faanna tufakoona

Translation:

(Can the deviation of that person be imagined) whose evil deed is made seem fair to him and he deems it as good? The fact is that Allah leads astray whomsoever He pleases and shows the Right Way to whomsoever He pleases. So, (O Prophet,) let not yourself be consumed with grief for the sake of these people. Allah is aware of whatever they are doing.

Translit: Afaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi faraahu hasanan fainna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao fala tathhab nafsuka AAalayhim hasaratin inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yasnaAAoona

Translation:

Do you not see that Allah sends down rainwater from the sky and we bring forth thereby a variety of fruits of different colors? In the mountains also there are streaks, white and red and black, with different hues.

Translit: Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi thamaratin mukhtalifan alwanuha wamina aljibali judadun beedun wahumrun mukhtalifun alwanuha wagharabeebu soodun

Translation:

There they will cry out and say, "Our Lord, take us out from here so that we may do good works other than those which we had been doing." (The reply will be) "Did We not give you lives long enough so that he who would, could take a warning? And the warner also had come to you. Now taste (the torment). The wicked will have no helper here."

Translit: Wahum yastarikhoona feeha rabbana akhrijna naAAmal salihan ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu awalam nuAAammirkum ma yatathakkaru feehi man tathakkara wajaakumu alnnatheeru fathooqoo fama lilththalimeena min naseerin

Translation:

He it is Who has made you vicegerents in the earth. Now whoever disbelieves shall himself bear the burden of his disbelief, and for the disbelievers their disbelief does not increase anything except the wrath of their Lord and the disbelievers do not gain anything except an increase in their loss.

Translit: Huwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa fee alardi faman kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum AAinda rabbihim illa maqtan wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum illa khasaran

After him We did not send any army against his people from heaven nor was it needful for Us to send one.

Translit: Wama anzalna AAala qawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina alssamai wama kunna munzileena

If We please, We can so transform them in their places that they would neither be able to go forward nor turn backward.

Translit: Walaw nashao lamasakhnahum AAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyan wala yarjiAAoona

We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars

Translit: Inna zayyanna alssamaa alddunya bizeenatin alkawakibi

Well! Are we not to die any

The dwellers of Hell shall eat it and fill their bellies with it.

They believed in him and We let them live till an appointed time.

Translation:

We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in vain. This is the fancy of those who have disbelieved, and woe to such disbelievers from the Fire of Hell.

Translit: Wama khalaqna alssamaa waalarda wama baynahuma batilan thalika thannu allatheena kafaroo fawaylun lillatheena kafaroo mina alnnari

(O Prophet,) who can protect the person for whom the torment has already been decreed? Can you rescue him who has already fallen into the fire?

Do you not see that Allah sent down rainwater from the sky, then made it to flow in the earth in the form of springs and fountains and rivers, then He brings forth thereby a variety of crops of different kinds; then they ripen and wither and you see them turn yellow, and then, finally, He reduces them to straw? Indeed, there is a lesson in this for the men of understanding.

Translit: Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan fasalakahu yanabeeAAa fee alardi thumma yukhriju bihi zarAAan mukhtalifan alwanuhu thumma yaheeju fatarahu musfarran thumma yajAAaluhu hutaman inna fee thalika lathikra liolee alalbabi

Translation:

Now, can the person whose breast Allah has opened for Islam and he is walking in the light shown by his Lord(be like the one who has learned no lesson from these things)? Woe to those whose hearts became even more hardened from Allah's admonition! They are in manifest error.

Translit: Afaman sharaha Allahu sadrahu lilislami fahuwa AAala noorin min rabbihi fawaylun lilqasiyati quloobuhum min thikri Allahi olaika fee dalalin mubeenin

Translation:

Allah has sent down the best of discourses, a Book all whose parts are uniform in style and whose themes have been repeated over and over again. Those who fear their Lord are filled with awe when they hear it, and then their bodies and their hearts soften and turn to the remembrance of Allah. This is Allah's guidance, whereby He guides to the Right Way whomever He wills; and the one whom Allah does not guide has no guide whatever.

Now, how can you imagine the plight of the one who will receive the severe punishment of the Day of Resurrection on his face? To such wrongdoers it will be said, "Taste now (the fruit of) what you had been earning."

(O Prophet: ) Is not Allah enough for His servant? These people frighten you with others besides Him, whereas there is none to guide him whom Allah lets go astray,

Before this Joseph had brought to you clear Signs, but you continued to be in doubt concerning his teachings. Then, when he died, you said, "Allah will never send another Messenger after him." Likewise, Allah lets go astray the transgressors

It is Allah Who made the earth a resting-place for you and the sky a canopy over it, Who shaped you, and shaped you so well, and Who provided you with pure things. The same Allah (Who did all this) is your Lord. Highly blessed is Allah, Lord of the Universe.

Well, have they not traveled in the earth that they could see the fate of those who have gone before them? They were more in number and stronger-in might and have left behind greater traces of their power in the land; yet what they earned did not avail them anything.

Then He turned to the heaven, which was only smoke at that time. He said to the heaven and the earth "Come into being, whether you like it or not." They both said, "We do come in submission."

When in the world you hid yourselves while committing crime, you never thought that your ears and your own eyes and your own skins would ever bear witness against you. Rather you thought that even Allah had no knowledge of many of your deeds.

As such, whether they are patient (or not), the Fire will still be their abode, and if they want to make amends, they will not be allowed to do so.

Those who misconstrue Our Revelations are not in any way hidden from Us. Just consider who is better: he who will be cast into the Hell-Fire, or he who will appear on the Day of Resurrection in full security? Do as you please; Allah is watching over everything you do.

Translit: Inna allatheena yulhidoona fee ayatina la yakhfawna AAalayna afaman yulqa fee alnnari khayrun am man yatee aminan yawma alqiyamati iAAmaloo ma shitum innahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

Yes, thus have We revealed to you, O Prophet, this Arabic Qur'an so that you may warn those who dwell in the center of habitations (i.e. Makkah) and around it, and warn them of the Day of Gathering that which is sure to come. One group shall go to Paradise and the other to Hell.

Among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the living things, which He has scattered in both. He can gather them all together whenever He wills.

Beware! The wrongdoers shall suffer an everlasting torment, and they will have no protectors and guardians, who could come to their help against Allah. The one whom Allah lets go astray has no way of escape.

Now if they turn away. We have not sent you, O Prophet, to be a keeper over them. Your only responsibility is to convey the Message. Man is such that when We let him taste Our mercy, he exults at it, and if an evil befalls him in consequence of what his own hands have done before, he turns utterly ungrateful.

Translit: Fain aAAradoo fama arsalnaka AAalayhim hafeethan in AAalayka illa albalaghu wainna itha athaqna alinsana minna rahmatan fariha biha wain tusibhum sayyiatun bima qaddamat aydeehim fainna alinsana kafoorun

Who sent down water from heaven in due measure and revived thereby the dead earth-even so shall you be brought out from the earth.

But for the fear that all mankind would follow the same way, We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Merciful God, houses with roofs of silver and gold, and stairways by which they go to upper chambers,

And in the difference of the night and day, and in the provisions that Allah sends down from the heaven, whereby He revives the earth after its death, and in the circulation of the winds, there are many signs for those who use their common sense.

and gave them clear instructions with regard to religion. Then they differed among themselves (not because of ignorance but) after the Knowledge had come to them, only because they wanted to wrong one another. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matters in which they have been differing.

Translit: Waataynahum bayyinatin mina alamri fama ikhtalafoo illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona

Then, have you ever considered the case of the person who made his lust his god, and Allah, in spite of knowledge, let him go astray and set a seal upon his heart and ears and laid a covering on his eyes? Who is there after Allah Who can guide him? Do you learn no lesson?

Translit: Afaraayta mani ittakhatha ilahahu hawahu waadallahu Allahu AAala AAilmin wakhatama AAala samAAihi waqalbihi wajaAAala AAala basarihi ghishawatan faman yahdeehi min baAAdi Allahi afala tathakkaroona

We had given them that which We have not given you. We had given them ears and eyes and hearts, but nothing did their ears and their eyes and their hearts avail them, because they denied the Revelations of Allah, and they were encompassed by the same thing that they mocked.

Translit: Walaqad makkannahum feema in makkannakum feehi wajaAAalna lahum samAAan waabsaran waafidatan fama aghna AAanhum samAAuhum wala absaruhum wala afidatuhum min shayin ith kanoo yajhadoona biayati Allahi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

Translation:

The Paradise that has been promised to the righteous is such that canals will be flowing in it of pure water, and canals will be flowing in it of milk of unchanged flavor, and canals will be flowing in it of wine which will be delightful to the drinkers, and canals will be flowing in it of honey, clear and pure. In it there will be fruits of every kind for them and forgiveness from their Lord. (Can the person who will be admitted to this Paradise) be like those who will dwell in Hell for ever and who will be given to drink boiling water that will cut their bowels into pieces?

Translit: Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona feeha anharun min main ghayri asinin waanharun min labanin lam yataghayyar taAAmuhu waanharun min khamrin laththatin lilshsharibeena waanharun min AAasalin musaffan walahum feeha min kulli alththamarati wamaghfiratun min rabbihim kaman huwa khalidun fee alnnari wasuqoo maan hameeman faqattaAAa amAAaahum

The believers are brothers of one another; so set the relations right between your brothers, and fear Allah; it is expected that you will be shown mercy.

He raised the heaven high and set the balance.

Translation:

Have you not seen those who were forbidden to hold secret consultations, yet they persist in what they were forbidden? They converse secretly together of sin and transgression and disobedience to the Messenger. And when they come to you, they greet you in a way in which Allah has not greeted you, and say to themselves, "Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?" Hell is enough for them they will become its fuel. What an evil end!

Translit: Alam tara ila allatheena nuhoo AAani alnnajwa thumma yaAAoodoona lima nuhoo AAanhu wayatanajawna bialithmi waalAAudwani wamaAAsiyati alrrasooli waitha jaooka hayyawka bima lam yuhayyika bihi Allahu wayaqooloona fee anfusihim lawla yuAAaththibuna Allahu bima naqoolu hasbuhum jahannamu yaslawnaha fabisa almaseeru

O you who have believed, when you talk secretly together, then do not talk of sin and transgression and disobedience to the Messenger but talk of virtue and piety, and fear that God, before Whom you shall all be mustered together.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha tanajaytum fala tatanajaw bialithmi waalAAudwani wamaAAsiyati alrrasooli watanajaw bialbirri waalttaqwa waittaqoo Allaha allathee ilayhi tuhsharoona

(You shall know this) when He will gather you together on the Day of Gathering. That will be a Day of mutual Loss and Gain among the people. Whoever believes in Allah and does good works, Allah shall shake off his sins and will admit him into Gardens, underneath which canals will be flowing, to dwell therein for ever. This is the supreme success!

And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with magnificent lamps and made them a means of driving away Satans. For these satans We have prepared a blazing Fire.
