Translation:

The (divorced) mothers shall suckle their children for two whole years, if the fathers desire the suckling to be completed. In that case the father of the child shall, in the fair known way, be responsible for their food and clothing. But none should be burdened with more than one can bear: neither the mother should be pressed unjustly (to accept unfair terms) just because she is the mother nor should the father be burdened just because he is the father. And the same responsibility for the maintenance of the mother devolves upon the father of the child and his heir. There is no harm if they wean the child by mutual consent and consultation. Moreover, there is no harm if you choose to give your children a suckle by a wet nurse, provided that you pay her fairly. Fear Allah and know it well that whatever you do is in the sight of Allah.

Translit: Waalwalidatu yurdiAAna awladahunna hawlayni kamilayni liman arada an yutimma alrradaAAata waAAala almawloodi lahu rizquhunna wakiswatuhunna bialmaAAroofi la tukallafu nafsun illa wusAAaha la tudarra walidatun biwaladiha wala mawloodun lahu biwaladihi waAAala alwarithi mithlu thalika fain arada fisalan AAan taradin minhuma watashawurin fala junaha AAalayhima wain aradtum an tastardiAAoo awladakum fala junaha AAalaykum itha sallamtum ma ataytum bialmaAAroofi waittaqoo Allaha waiAAlamoo anna Allaha

Translation:

As for those, who have adopted the attitude of disbelief,8 neither their riches nor their children shall avail them against Allah: they shall become fuel for Hell.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan waolaika hum waqoodu alnnari

Translation:

As for those who have adopted the way of disbelief, neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them against Allah; they deserve Hell, and there they shall abide for ever.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

Translation:

As regards inheritance, Allah enjoins you concerning your children that: The share of the male shall be twice that of the female. In case the heirs be more than two females, their total share shall be two-thirds of the whole and if there be only one daughter, her share shall be half of the whole. If the deceased has children, each of his parents shall get one-sixth of the whole, but if he be childless and his parents alone are his heirs, the mother shall have one-third of the whole. If the deceased has brothers and sisters also, the mother shall be entitled to one-sixth of the whole. The division of all these shares shall take place only after fulfilling the terms of the will and after the payment of the debt (if any). As regards your parents and your children, you do not know who is more beneficial to you. Allah has apportioned these shares and most surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise

Translit: Yooseekumu Allahu fee awladikum lilththakari mithlu haththi alonthayayni fain kunna nisaan fawqa ithnatayni falahunna thulutha ma taraka wain kanat wahidatan falaha alnnisfu waliabawayhi likulli wahidin minhuma alssudusu mimma taraka in kana lahu waladun fain lam yakun lahu waladun wawarithahu abawahu faliommihi alththuluthu fain kana lahu ikhwatun faliommihi alssudusu min baAAdi wasiyyatin yoosee biha aw daynin abaokum waabnaokum la tadroona ayyuhum aqrabu lakum nafAAan fareedatan mina Allahi i

Translation:

And likewise, those whom the mushrikin believe to have a share in Allahs Godhead have made the killing of their own children seem fair to them in order to lead them to ruin and confuse them in their religion. Had Allah willed, they would not have done so; therefore, leave them busy in their false accusations.

Translit: Wakathalika zayyana likatheerin mina almushrikeena qatla awladihim shurakaohum liyurdoohum waliyalbisoo AAalayhim deenahum walaw shaa Allahu ma faAAaloohu fatharhum wama yaftaroona

Translation:

Most surely they became losers, who, in their folly and ignorance killed their own children, and made unlawful what Allah had provided them as sustenance falsely ascribing prohibitions to Allah. Surely they went astray and were not at all rightly guided.

Translit: Qad khasira allatheena qataloo awladahum safahan bighayri AAilmin waharramoo ma razaqahumu Allahu iftiraan AAala Allahi qad dalloo wama kanoo muhtadeena

Translation:

O Muhammad, say to them, "Come, I will recite what limits your Lord has set for you."127 (He has enjoined:) (1) That you should not set up anything as a partner with Him,128 (2) and you should treat your parents kindly,129 (3) and you should not kill your children for fear of poverty, for We provide sustenance for you and will provide sustenance for them also, (4) and you should not go near indecent things130 whether they be open or hidden, (5) and you should not kill any living being whom Allah has forbidden to kill except by right.131 These are the things which He has enjoined on you: it may be that you use your common sense.

Translit: Qul taAAalaw atlu ma harrama rabbukum AAalaykum alla tushrikoo bihi shayan wabialwalidayni ihsanan wala taqtuloo awladakum min imlaqin nahnu narzuqukum waiyyahum wala taqraboo alfawahisha ma thahara minha wama batana wala taqtuloo alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqi thalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona

And know that your worldly goods and your children are, in fact, a test for you, and Allah has plenty for giving you reward.

So let not their great wealth and the large number of their children delude you; for Allah wills to chastise them by means of these very things in this worldly life and that they would die in a state of unbelief.

Translit: Fala tuAAjibka amwaluhum wala awladuhum innama yureedu Allahu liyuAAaththibahum biha fee alhayati alddunya watazhaqa anfusuhum wahum kafiroona

Translation:

You are behaving just like those who went before you: they had more power than you, and possessed greater riches and had more children than you: they had enjoyed their portion of the good things of the worldly life and you, too, have enjoyed your portion of the good things like them: you are also engaged in idle discussions like the discussions they held. Consequently in the end everything they did, proved vain in this world and shall be vain in the Next World: surely they are the people who are the losers.

Translit: Kaallatheena min qablikum kanoo ashadda minkum quwwatan waakthara amwalan waawladan faistamtaAAoo bikhalaqihim faistamtaAAtum bikhalaqikum kama istamtaAAa allatheena min qablikum bikhalaqihim wakhudtum kaallathee khadoo olaika habitat aAAmaluhum fee alddunya waalakhirati waolaika humu alkhasiroona

Translation:

And let not the abundance of their possessions and children delude you; for Allah wills only to chastise them by means of their possessions and children in this world and let their souls depart while they are still disbelievers.

Translit: Wala tuAAjibka amwaluhum waawladuhum innama yureedu Allahu an yuAAaththibahum biha fee alddunya watazhaqa anfusuhum wahum kafiroona

7. Do not kill your offspring for fear of want: for it is We Who provide them and you as well. Indeed their killing is a heinous crime.

You may try to allure with your invitation whomsoever you can. Rally against them your horsemen and your footmen: set a partner with them in their wealth and children and entice them with your false promises And Stars promises are nothing but deception.

Translit: Waistafziz mani istataAAta minhum bisawtika waajlib AAalayhim bikhaylika warajlika washarikhum fee alamwali waalawladi waAAidhum wama yaAAiduhumu alshshaytanu illa ghurooran

Translation:

It is not your wealth and your children, which bring you nearer to Us, save him who believes and does good works. These are the ones who will have a double reward for their deeds, and they will live in peace in high mansions.

Translit: Wama amwalukum wala awladukum biallatee tuqarribukum AAindana zulfa illa man amana waAAamila salihan faolaika lahum jazao alddiAAfi bima AAamiloo wahum fee alghurufati aminoona

Translation:

Know it well that the life of this world is nothing but a sport and pastime, and a show and boasting among yourselves and a rivalry in wealth and children. Its example is of vegetation after a shower of rain, which delighted the tillers, then the same ripens and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes straw. Contrary to this, in the life to come there is severe torment and forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but illusion.

Translit: IAAlamoo annama alhayatu alddunya laAAibun walahwun wazeenatun watafakhurun baynakum watakathurun fee alamwali waalawladi kamathali ghaythin aAAjaba alkuffara nabatuhu thumma yaheeju fatarahu musfarran thumma yakoonu hutaman wafee alakhirati AAathabun shadeedun wamaghfiratun mina Allahi waridwanun wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori

Neither shall their riches avail them anything to protect them from Allah nor their children. They are the fellows of Hell in which they shall live for ever.

Translit: Lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

On the Day of Resurrection neither will your relationships avail you anything nor your children. Allah on that Day shall cause separation between you, and He is Seer of whatever you do.

O Prophet, when the believing women come to you to take the oath of allegiance, and pledge that they would neither associate anything with Allah, nor steal nor commit adultery nor child murder, nor bring a calumny forged between their own hands and feet, nor disobey you in what is good, accept their allegiance and pray for their forgiveness. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving! All Merciful.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu itha jaaka almuminatu yubayiAAnaka AAala an la yushrikna biAllahi shayan wala yasriqna wala yazneena wala yaqtulna awladahunna wala yateena bibuhtanin yaftareenahu bayna aydeehinna waarjulihinna wala yaAAseenaka fee maAAroofin fabayiAAhunna waistaghfir lahunna Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

O you who have believed, let not your possessions and your children distract you from the remembrance of Allah." Those who do so shall indeed be the losers.

Translit: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukum AAan thikri Allahi waman yafAAal thalika faolaika humu alkhasiroona
