Translation:

Man is a (strange) creature: when We bestow favor on him, he behaves arrogantly and turns his back, but when misfortune befalls him, he begins to despair.

Translit: Waitha anAAamna AAala alinsani aAArada wanaa bijanibihi waitha massahu alshsharru kana yaoosan

Translation:

When Moses completed the term and he was traveling with his family, he saw a fire in the direction of Tur. He said to his family, "Stay a while: I have seen a fire: I may bring some information from there, or a burning brand with which you may warm yourselves."

Translit: Falamma qada moosaalajala wasara biahlihi anasa min janibi alttoori naran qala liahlihi omkuthoo innee anastu naran laAAallee ateekum minha bikhabarin aw jathwatin mina alnnari laAAallakum tastaloona

(O Muhammad,) you were not present on the western side when We gave Moses the Law, nor were you among the witnesses,

Translit: Wama kunta bijanibi algharbiyyi ith qadayna ila moosa alamra wama kunta mina alshshahideena

Translation:

And you were also not present at the side of Tur when We had called out (to Moses for the first time), but this is your Lord's Mercy (that you are being given this information ) so that you should warn those to whom no warner had come before you: may be they take heed.

Translit: Wama kunta bijanibi alttoori ith nadayna walakin rahmatan min rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum min natheerin min qablika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
