Translation:

These are the people who have bartered away Guidance for error, but this is a profitless bargain that they have made, and they are not at all on the right way.

Translit: Olaika allatheena ishtarawoo alddalalata bialhuda fama rabihat tijaratuhum wama kanoo muhtadeena

As for those who believed and then disbelieved and persisted in their disbelief; even their repentance shall not be accepted because they are obdurate transgressors.

Translation:

Allah does not take you to task for the inadvertent oaths you swear, but He will surely call you to account for the intentional and deliberate oaths you make. The expiation (of breaking such an oath) is to feed ten indigent persons with the normal food you serve in your own family, or to give them clothes, or to free one slave, and the one who cannot afford any of these let him fast three days. This is the expiation of breaking the solemn oaths you have taken; be mindful of your oaths. Thus Allah makes His Commandments plain to you so that you may show gratitude.

Translit: La yuakhithukumu Allahu biallaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yuakhithukum bima AAaqqadtumu alaymana fakaffaratuhu itAAamu AAasharati masakeena min awsati ma tutAAimoona ahleekum aw kiswatuhum aw tahreeru raqabatin faman lam yajid fasiyamu thalathati ayyamin thalika kaffaratu aymanikum itha halaftum waihfathoo aymanakum kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum tashkuroona

Then they shall not be able to play any other trick (than make this false statement): "We swear by You, our Lord, we were not at all mushrikin."

Translit: Thumma lam takun fitnatuhum illa an qaloo waAllahi rabbina ma kunna mushrikeena

Accordingly when the night outspread over him, he saw a star and said, "This is my Lord." But when it set, he declared, "I cannot love those that set."

Translation:

Thus he beguiled them and gradually molded them to his design. So, when they tasted (the fruit of the tree, their shameful parts became visible to each other and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of the Garden. Then their Lord called out to them, saying, "Did I not forbid you to go near this tree, and warn you that Satan was your open enemy?"

Translit: Fadallahuma bighuroorin falamma thaqa alshshajarata badat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati wanadahuma rabbuhuma alam anhakuma AAan tilkuma alshshajarati waaqul lakuma inna alshshaytana lakuma AAaduwwun mubeenun

Translation:

And what is their "prayer" near the House of Allah ?: it is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. So now take the chastisement and taste the torment in requital for your persistent denial of the Truth.

Translit: Wama kana salatuhum AAinda albayti illa mukaan watasdiyatan fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

The reason why their expenditures shall not be accepted is no other than that they have not believed in Allah and His Messenger: and they come to offer their Salat but reluctantly, and they expend in the Way of Allah with unwilling hearts.

Translit: Wama manaAAahum an tuqbala minhum nafaqatuhum illa annahum kafaroo biAllahi wabirasoolihi wala yatoona alssalata illa wahum kusala wala yunfiqoona illa wahum karihoona

Therein their prayers will be. "Glory to Thee, O Lord," and their greeting, "Peace be to you," and the burden of their hymn will be, "Praise is for Allah alone, the Lord of the universe."

And, O my people, who will help save me from Allah, if I drive them away? Dont you understand this simple thing?

We were not unjust to them but they were unjust to themselves. And when the judgment of your Lord came to pass, those deities of theirs, whom they worshiped instead of Allah, availed them not at all: they only hastened their ruin. They did them no good but caused their destruction and ruin.

Translit: Wama thalamnahum walakin thalamoo anfusahum fama aghnat AAanhum alihatuhumu allatee yadAAoona min dooni Allahi min shayin lamma jaa amru rabbika wama zadoohum ghayra tatbeebin

This is the narrative of that time, when Joseph said to his father, "O father, I have seen in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw that they were prostrating themselves before me."

Translit: Ith qala yoosufu liabeehi ya abati innee raaytu ahada AAashara kawkaban waalshshamsa waalqamara raaytuhum lee sajideenaa

Other Messengers have also been mocked before you, but I have always given respite to the disbelievers and then seized upon them at its end. Just see how terrible had been My Scourge!

And (in contrast to the transgressors), those who have believed and done righteous deeds, shall be admitted to Gardens underneath which canals flow. They shall abide there for ever by the permission of their Lord, and they shall be welcomed there by "peace be on you."

Translit: Waodkhila allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha biithni rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feeha salamun

They shall be running in terror with heads uplifted and eyes fixed upwards and hearts becoming void.

Translit: MuhtiAAeena muqniAAee ruoosihim la yartaddu ilayhim tarfuhum waafidatuhum hawaon

Yet they assign to Allah what they themselves dislike, and their tongues utter the lie that their lot shall be a fair one anyhow. Nay, only one thing awaits them, and that is the fire of Hell, wherein most certainly they shall be hastened.

Translit: WayajAAaloona lillahi ma yakrahoona watasifu alsinatuhumu alkathiba anna lahumu alhusna la jarama anna lahumu alnnara waannahum mufratoona

I did not call them to witness the creation of the heavens and the earth nor did I associate them in their own creation. It is not for Me to make My supporters those who lead others astray.

At last, both of them (Adam and his wife) ate of the fruit (of the forbidden tree). As a result thereof, the nakedness of each appeared before the other, and they began to cover themselves up with leaves from the Garden. Adam disobeyed his Lord and went astray from the right way.

Translit: Faakala minha fabadat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati waAAasa adamu rabbahu faghawa

For that catastrophe will occur all of a sudden and will overpower them so abruptly that they shall neither be able to ward it off nor shall they get any respite.

and the dwellers of Midian had treated their Prophets as false and likewise Moses was also rejected. At first I gave respite to all these disbelievers and then seized them. Now you can see for yourselves how terrible was My chastisement!

Translit: Waashabu madyana wakuththiba moosa faamlaytu lilkafireena thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana nakeeri

Indeed, the Prophet is preferable for the believers to their own selves, and the Prophet's wives are their mothers. But, according to the Book of Allah, the blood relations have a greater right on one another than the other believers and the migrants. However, you may do any good (you wish) to your friends. This is written in the Divine Book.

Translit: Alnnabiyyu awla bialmumineena min anfusihim waazwajuhu ommahatuhum waoloo alarhami baAAduhum awla bibaAAdin fee kitabi Allahi mina almumineena waalmuhajireena illa an tafAAaloo ila awliyaikum maAAroofan kana thalika fee alkitabi mastooran

Their salutation on the day they meet Him will be "Peace", and Allah has prepared for them an honorable reward.

Should I take other gods than Him? Whereas if the Merciful God intends to harm me, their intercession cannot avail me anything, nor can they rescue me.

Before them the people of Noah also denied, and so did many a host after them. Every nation fell upon its Messenger to seize him: they all tried to defeat the Truth by means of falsehood, but, at last, I seized them. Then, just see, how severe was My punishment!

Translit: Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waalahzabu min baAAdihim wahammat kullu ommatin birasoolihim liyakhuthoohu wajadaloo bialbatili liyudhidoo bihi alhaqqa faakhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi

and the excuses of the wrongdoers shall not avail them anything. They shall have the curse on them and the worst abode.

Translit: Yawma la yanfaAAu alththalimeena maAAthiratuhum walahumu allaAAnatu walahum sooo alddari

After Allahapos;s invitation has been accepted, those who dispute (with those who have accepted it) concerning Allahapos;s religion, their argument is absurd in the sight of their Lord, and on them is His wrath and for them there is a severe punishment.

Translit: Waallatheena yuhajjoona fee Allahi min baAAdi ma istujeeba lahu hujjatuhum dahidatun AAinda rabbihim waAAalayhim ghadabun walahum AAathabun shadeedun

They have regarded the angels, who are themselves servants of the Merciful God, as females. Have they seen them in person? Their evidence will be recorded and they will be called to account for it.

Do those who have committed evil, think that We shall hold them and those who have believed and done right as equal, so that their life and their death should be alike? Evil indeed are the judgments they pass!

Translit: Am hasiba allatheena ijtarahoo alssayyiati an najAAalahum kaallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati sawaan mahyahum wamamatuhum saa ma yahkumoona

We had given them that which We have not given you. We had given them ears and eyes and hearts, but nothing did their ears and their eyes and their hearts avail them, because they denied the Revelations of Allah, and they were encompassed by the same thing that they mocked.

Translit: Walaqad makkannahum feema in makkannakum feehi wajaAAalna lahum samAAan waabsaran waafidatan fama aghna AAanhum samAAuhum wala absaruhum wala afidatuhum min shayin ith kanoo yajhadoona biayati Allahi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

Those who have believed and their offspring also have followed in their footsteps in degrees of faith, We shall join to them those of their offspring also (in Paradise) and shall not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person is a pledge for what he has earned.

Translit: Waallatheena amanoo waittabaAAathum thurriyyatuhum bieemanin alhaqna bihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum min AAamalihim min shayin kullu imriin bima kasaba raheenun

How many an angel is there in the heavens! Their intercession can avail nothing until Allah permits it in favor of whomever He wills and is pleased with.

Translit: Wakam min malakin fee alssamawati la tughnee shafaAAatuhum shayan illa min baAAdi an yathana Allahu liman yashao wayarda

Those of you who put away their wives by zihar (should know that) their wives are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave them birth. They utter a monstrous thing and a lie. And Allah is All-Pardoning, All Forgiving.

Translit: Allatheena yuthahiroona minkum min nisaihim ma hunna ommahatihim in ommahatuhum illa allaee waladnahum wainnahum layaqooloona munkaran mina alqawli wazooran wainna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorun

He it is Who drove the disbelievers from among the people of the Book out of their houses at the very first assault. You did not think that they would ever go out, and they too on their part were thinking that their fortresses would protect them from Allah, but Allah came upon them whence they had little expected. He cast terror into their hearts with the result that they were destroying their dwellings by their own hands as well as by the hands of the believers. So, take heed, O you who have eyes to see!
