|Transliteration| Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu itha tallaqtumu alnnisaa fatalliqoohunna liAAiddatihinna waahsoo alAAiddata waittaqoo Allaha rabbakum la tukhrijoohunna min buyootihinna wala yakhrujna illa an yateena bifahishatin mubayyinatin watilka hudoodu Allahi waman yataAAadda hudooda Allahi faqad thalama nafsahu la tadree laAAalla Allaha yuhdithu baAAda thalika amran

|English| O Prophet, when you (and the believers) divorce women, divorce them for their prescribed waiting-periods, and count the waiting-period accurately, and fear Allah, you Lord. And do not turn them out of their houses (during the waiting-period), not should they themselves leave them, except in case they commit an open indecency. These are the bounds prescribed by Allah and whoever transgresses Allah' bounds will wrong his own self. You do not know: Allah may after this bring about a situation (of reconciliation).

|Transliteration| Faitha balaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw fariqoohunna bimaAAroofin waashhidoo thaway AAadlin minkum waaqeemoo alshshahadata lillahi thalikum yooAAathu bihi man kana yuminu biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri waman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu makhrajan

|English| Then when they have reached the end of their (waiting) periods either retain them (in wedlock) in a fair manner or part with them in a fair manner, and call to witness two just men from among yourselves, and (O witnesses) bear witness equitably for the sake of Allah. With this you are admonished, (and) whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day. Whosoever fears Allah in whatever he does, Allah will open for him away out of the difficulties

|Transliteration| Wayarzuqhu min haythu la yahtasibu waman yatawakkal AAala Allahi fahuwa hasbuhu inna Allaha balighu amrihi qad jaAAala Allahu likulli shayin qadran

|English| and will provide for him from whence he could little imagine. And whoever trusts in Allah, He is enough for him. Allah brings His decrees to fulfillment. Allah has appointed a destiny for everything.

|Transliteration| Waallaee yaisna mina almaheedi min nisaikum ini irtabtum faAAiddatuhunna thalathatu ashhurin waallaee lam yahidna waolatu alahmali ajaluhunna an yadaAAna hamlahunna waman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu min amrihi yusran

|English| And if you are in doubt about those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, (you should know that) their waiting period is three months, and the same applies to those who have not menstruated as yet. As far as pregnant women, their period ends when they deliver the burden. Whoever fears Allah, He makes his course easy for him.

|Transliteration| Thalika amru Allahi anzalahu ilaykum waman yattaqi Allaha yukaffir AAanhu sayyiatihi wayuAAthim lahu ajran

|English| This is Allah' Command which He has sent down to you. Whoever fears Allah, Allah will remove his evils from him and will enhance his rewards.

|Transliteration| Askinoohunna min haythu sakantum min wujdikum wala tudarroohunna litudayyiqoo AAalayhinna wain kunna olati hamlin faanfiqoo AAalayhinna hatta yadaAAna hamlahunna fain ardaAAna lakum faatoohunna ojoorahunna watamiroo baynakum bimaAAroofin wain taAAasartum fasaturdiAAu lahu okhra

|English| Lodge them (in the waiting-period) where you yourselves live, according to your means, and do not harass them so as to straiten them. And if they are pregnant, spend on them until they deliver their burden. Then if they suckle (the child) for you, give them their wages, and settle the question of wages) fairly by mutual consultation. But if you created difficulties for each other (concerning the question of wages). then another woman would suckle the child.

|Transliteration| Liyunfiq thoo saAAatin min saAAatihi waman qudira AAalayhi rizquhu falyunfiq mimma atahu Allahu la yukallifu Allahu nafsan illa ma ataha sayajAAalu Allahu baAAda AAusrin yusran

|English| Let the rich man spend according to his means and let the one whose means are restricted, spend out of what Allah has given him. Allah does not burden anyone with more than what He has given him. It may well be that Allah brings about ease after hardship.

|English| Many a settlement has rebelled against the commandments of its Lord and His Messengers, and We called it to stern account and punished it severely.

|English| Allah has prepared from them a severe torment (in the Hereafter). So fear Allah. O you then of understanding, who have believed. Allah has sent down to you an Admonition,

|Transliteration| Rasoolan yatloo AAalaykum ayati Allahi mubayyinatin liyukhrija allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati mina alththulumati ila alnnoori waman yumin biAllahi wayaAAmal salihan yudkhilhu jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha abadan qad ahsana Allahu lahu rizqan

|English| a Messenger who recites to you Allah' Revelations containing clear guidance, so that he may bring those who have believed and done good deeds out of darknesses into light. Whoever believes in Allah and does good deeds, Allah shall admit him into Gardens underneath which canals will be flowing. They shall live therein for ever. Allah has prepared for such a one an excellent provision.

|Transliteration| Allahu allathee khalaqa sabAAa samawatin wamina alardi mithlahunna yatanazzalu alamru baynahunna litaAAlamoo anna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun waanna Allaha qad ahata bikulli shayin AAilman

|English| Allah is He Who created seven heavens and of the earth also their like. His Command descends among them. (This you are being told) so that you may know that Allah has power over everything, and that Allah' knowledge encompasses all.
